This one just takes the cake. It's supposed to be a courthouse. That's right, it's a government building. Completed 2007. They seriously overdone it with the colonnades. And the domes. Could you count the number of domes on this monstrosity?

Not exactly a frequent tourist, but I had been to a few Asian countries out of curiosity. * PRC (specifically, Shanghai) (2004) - Traveled with a buddy who thankfully has a strong command of Chinese. The air has that strong cigarette smell when I went there winter 2004. It's the equivalent to smelling tobacco in an AC-ed room. Great view of The Bund though. * Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand (2005) - Three countries in one trip, and by far the most tiring, but was accompanied by another mate. Vietnam seems to be in a better standing than Thailand with better hospitality and all, but Thailand was still a great place to go; ditto with Cambodia. I wonder how Thailand is doing with all that political instability as of late. * Singapore (early 2008) - As expected, great place with interesting colonial architecture. Very clean and organized. Might visit again, probably during one of its F1 Gran Prix. * Malaysia (late 2008) - Drawn to visit Melaka and Penang after they were both listed in UNESCO's heritage site list. Took a train. Services are far poorer than in Singapore, but the architecture is surprising similar to Singapore's. Also, lots of rubbish on the streets. Also planning to visit Japan, Australia and Indonesia (Java and Bali) in the future.

Gather stuff, process them for the end consumer, prepare services, build up armies and defenses, trade, that sort of thing. But having played Caesar and CivCity Rome a long time ago, I stopped playing Anno 1404 in just one sitting because it's the same thing all over again. Guess this city building formula not my thing anymore. Feel free to try it out though. The visuals and design are great for something as recent as this.

Originally posted by: MattShizzle Not sure when they bought the company but Maxis wasn't owned by EA when the original SimCity came out. quote> EA acquired Maxis in 1997/98, before SimCity 3000, I reckon. But Maxis was in trouble back in the late-1990s. Management was a mess and they were releasing too many mediocre titles. And to think, before EA gobbled up Maxis, the folks at Maxis wanted SimCity 3000 to be fully 3D when PCs were just crawling out of the realms of 2D graphics. If EA didn't go ahead purchasing Maxis, we wouldn't have enjoyed The Sims and SimCity 4 the same way we do now. EA during the 1990s was still alright, before it started thinking dollars and less sense. During the early 2000s alone, problems started to sprout when EA dissolved Westwood and Bullfrog, fouled up the Need for Speed series with that Underground crap, and pushed aside the SimCity series in favour of The Sims. How things change.

Registration (SimCity.com) Solutions
Grover_G replied to thy451's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Bought the SimCity Box a week ago. But the registration process has proven to be a pain. The first thing I tried was registration via EA, but all I'm offered is "cheats and hints", so I turned to my old Maxis user account. The thing is my account has been around since the beginning of time (since The Sims (1) was new), but I have no way of registering SimCity 4: Deluxe via Product Registration because my username is "used". Reading recent comments before mine, it looks like I'm not the only one expressing displeasure of the old SimCity site's lack of recent maintenance. In the end, I still ended up downloading the BAT and the Lot Editor via "illegal" means, but not the Terrain Generator and patch needed to resolve the night light bug. Talk about faulty customer service. -

I'm curious. I have a vague memory of seeing one for SimCity 3000 a long time ago. But were they any that came about even earlier?

Wow, that was a totally awkward angle of viewing, but I would certainly be as shock as the photographer and nearby witnesses at first glance. Now that there was nothing serious in the first place, this is definitely worth a chuckle.
