  1. Tourism sudden change!

You should look at the crime in the city. I have noticed that a lot of my hotels and businesses are decaying due to crime. I speculate that this is the reason why I have a sea of yellow cabs/cars leaving my tourist city at the moment. I'm hoping that my investment into Lawdrones will help as traffic is really bad and my MT need all the law enforcement as possible. Also hoping that the Space Center will save the day as it's suppose to draw tourists to cities in the region for launch day. After 3 years of playing this game I've still not successfully built this GW. I always run out of money trying to produce the resources. I'm 1/3 of the way there now with the resources this time around. Slowly doing all of the coordinated efforts this time.
  2. @UncleSim, this must have been fixed by now... I HAD a system in place like the OP and now mine too is broken. One city was collecting from the other two. The major city of the three wasn't being serviced enough so I start a 2nd recycling plant in another city since it has more open space and could afford the expenses. Soon, the newer plant just stopped working. In fact the garbage map doesn't even show recycling in that very educated city. The number of cans collected has been "stuck on 11 of 4000K for many many sim months if not years at this point. My other two cities are still working as expected, so I just turned off the newer recycling plant. Maybe the bug will work itself out before I get bored with the game again.
  3. SimCity amusement park download?

Just for my own knowledge base, what does "DLC" mean? (DownLoadable Content?). Just curious.... Thanks...
  4. Not enough freight shipment

What I discovered helped me with a very similar problem was to locate the depot(s) close to the industrial area(s). Maybe your freight trucks from the factories are running into too much traffic before they are able to dispense their freight accordingly. Freight always seemed to "disappear" from the depot once it was dropped off from the factories. Watch your factory freight trucks a few times to see if they are completing their freight cycle(s). Someone posted much more info about this tactic on this forum a while ago when I was having issues. Good Luck!
  5. Tourist suddenly drops

Yeah, that tends to happen from time to time even in some of my well established gambling and cultured cities. Often, I just begin closing things in an effort to minimize the bleeding of $$$$$... For me, I speculated that the issue was due to traffic so I began focusing my efforts on getting tourist on various modes of transportation in/out of the tourist areas closer to map exit point(s) too.
  6. I've found that placing the Uni. works regardless where it's placed. Like you, I wanted to create a nice high tech business park and am off to a very good start thus far. However, I would suggest that you go about this type of adventure very slowly and start off with a college first. Otherwise, you could go broke! For me, I "envisioned" that the upgrading of the college to the Uni. would occur when the cost of running the college was equivalent to the Uni. alone. Even then, I waited until my education level was maxed out and the tech level was at stage 2 of 3. The I plopped the Uni. and kept a close eye on the industrial factors as they began converting over to high tech. In an effort to get ahead of the "lack of worker" messages, I began closing destroying said factories so that the sims would redistribute themselves to other factories to boost the tech levels. It took a while but I finally ended up with a handful of high tech factories at the max building size. This was down from a much larger sprawling section of the map of low and medium tech factories. Good Luck!!
  7. SimCity amusement park download?

You are able to purchase it once you log into Origins.
  8. I've been playing this game for about 2 years myself and just as recent as last month I discovered something "new". If you hover the pointer over the gauges for the meters, you will get some useful information related to what the gauge is displaying. Maybe you're not generating enough water in Windy City that registers enough to move the gauge closer to the green area of the gauge. You might have to cycle through your cities to have the game update itself before the effects of the new water source(s) are registered. Good Luck!!
  9. forest not appear

I have the same issue and just figured it was a graphic card issue on my end. The system I have is sub-ideal to play the game but it works!! I've settled for less optimal for a while on this system but am now thinking of finally upgrading things and get all excited again about SC2013.
  10. My Sims Wont Die

Isn't the OP's inquiry in the wrong forum as well the tip given for assistance. Otherwise, I didn't even know it was possible to find out the age of the Sims in SC2013!! Learning something new everyday and all the time!!
  11. What's next?

I know what I want to be "next" on the "fix-it" list. I'm all for having the education bug fixed now that EA has provided an update this month to fix the issue with the rocket launching GW project. There's hope!!
  12. Education glitch? Please help

It's been my experience that if I start out with the community college as the sole "school", things do indeed work. But eventually I start to see messages from $$ and $$$ residents "demanding" education or complaining they miss going to school. After following them around and noting things like traffic not effecting them from driving to the college, I plop down a grammar school with no bus stops near by and the students walk to school and the message eventually go away... That's how I've solved my education problems along with the advice I gave previously.
  13. I'm no expect on this matter, but I do know that there was a list of GW and regions that are known to be incompatible. Maybe your GW isn't compatible with the region. I for one have been wanting to build the rocket launch facility but several regions I've started and are well developed are incompatible for it. I've lost the list now but am hunting it down now as I have renewed interest with SC2013 for the moment. If I find it again, I'll post the link here. Cheers!
  14. Education glitch? Please help

I bet your issue is with the known Education bug of student disappearing when they're taken to neighboring cities. I for one have started to play using grammar schools to the fullest upgraded extent possible then, when financially feasible, switching over to a HS but not using those busses that come with it. It's these busses that are able to leave your cities and never return students. I also noted that it's these busses that go into the MT's as well even in cities that I've intentionally not placed school bus stops too. After getting the HS up and running, I turn off the excess upgrades at the grammar school and funnel the overflow of students to the HS. So far it's been working for some new cities I've started. But lately, I've been going back to some older cities to best as possible reverse the lost students to bring education levels back up in these cities. I tend to destroy homes that gave no educated students when the time is 5:55 AM. And slowly, student enrollment and education levels are on the rise at the time. Best of Luck!!
  15. Ditto.... In the market now to finally get a computer that will be able to properly handle SC2013. On the fence if I should just go with Windows 8 or jump all in and go for the current version of Windows 10 at this stage since the latter has been out for some time at this point. Thanks!!
  16. Coal Gifting Question

It's been my experience that the delivery truck of gifts will go to the depot/trade center. If they are full, you will keep getting a message that the delivery is stalled at the border. At that point, the truck will return to the gifting city and go back to its garage fully loaded. The game will keep trying to make the deliveries when you play the city that was intended to receive the gift. Good Luck!
  17. Same things is happening to me as well. Only the first city is totally unlocked. With each city I open afterwards I've waited until all the newsflashes have stopped before doing anything too. It was initial fear with opening the 3rd city that I wasn't waiting for all of the projects and ordinances to get the "green lights" of approvals!! Oh well, it's building character for me as now I'm "forced" to build cities up without cheats and the like. Have to work for things now!! LOL
  18. Question: If one adds the reduce waste module to the MT, does this make it and MT connected to it produce recycling material or just less waste? I've not played around with that module in my cities. Instead I keep finding myself dealing with at least 2 recycling centers in a city that can barely keep up with the recycling good being brought in from the host city and goods being collected in two other cities.
  19. Isn't that a vicious cycle of evil doing? Suck up the pollution from the ground to only spew it into the air where it will mix with the air pollution and rain polluted matter back into the groundwater table!!
  20. @Agente Silva, been a while since we exchanged comments here online... You've been a great help to my gameplay by far!! Thank you once again for your much appreciated assistance indeed!! @jprovo, one thing I would do if this were my city would be to build more business in and around the residential areas. If the number of employed sims grow, that my spur more residents to move it and/or begin the process of upgrading your residential building densities. One thing I tend to do is mostly focus on making my $ wealth sims "happy". The tolerate more of the bad stuff encountered with early cities. Then maybe once I need it, I begin tossing in the things medium wealth types like. Eventually, with overlapping medium wealth items you'll see "hotspots" for high wealth. Then it's time to begin focusing on low wealth types if the funding is going good for the city... Good Luck!!
  21. I recall a while back that someone else was having a similar issue like this. The issue was that the person was using using a mod that confused the game's "mapping of resources". Even though there were resources available, the games' mapping of the area was askewed and "didn't register the mistake
  22. True!!! And ditto.... Using a city to fund the start up of others is for sure the gameplay I use. But I do try to not let the city get out of control too much once other cities are off to cleaner starts than the seed city had!! LOL
  23. I think I've had this issue as well. And like you said (Panzer06), using the limitation of the game is for sure key!! I tend to build my cities with just libraries and a grammar school at first. Once the grammar school is at max, I tend to then plop in the community college. That tends to make room at the grammar school and maybe enough so that a classroom (or two) can be closed until needed. Most often I find with this "slow and steady pace" of game play, I tend to run out of a location to even consider placing the HS when I want to upgrade the grammar school and the same goes for the Uni when it's time to upgrade from the community college. Shame the game isn't working as intended. My early on cities, that I'm still attached to, are still suffering from student going to schools out side of the city limits and never returning. I find myself now ensure that doesn't happen in new cities. Each city is kinda independent of each other in my game play when it comes to education.
  24. My favorite is the solar power options! I try to progress the cities I built up to the point that it goes from (dirty) coal to dirty (oil). At some point I will migrate them to cleaner options in the same favor before jumping on the solar bandwagon. I've tried the wind to solar option but always resort to fossil just to keep the lights on. I like the nuclear in the tower option as mentioned already. But I just can't get enough educated sims to work at that type of power plant regardless how educated the area is. It works for a while then dies and/or becomes too expensive!!
  25. Sorry!!! Maybe your building a GW on one of those regionals that has a bug for the GW you're building. There's a thread on this forum that lists what not to build in these bugged regionals. There's also a mod out there that fixes the road connection to the GW. But I don't think the latter is your issue since the GW looks like it's built already. Good Luck!!
