Hello Everyone!

I'm a 31 year old Army wife/stay home mommy. I run my own business making and selling handmade blankets, keep the house clean and kids happy. When I'm not doing that, I'm playing SC4, doing some graphic design stuff and lurking in these forums.

I've been playing SC since the Classic on good ol' Nintendo, which I still have and it works! LOL

Happy building! 4.gif

Hi everyone, I'm new here. Well actually I can't say that because I joined this board 3 years ago haha. But I never visited this forum, because then I only joined because I could download stuff on here and recently, actually today I started posting on here and I recently started to play Simcity 4 again. My name is Dean, my nickname is Dubbel as you can see but it's actually Dutch for Double. Why did I choose this nickname? Because each nickname that I tried to use were already used, so I picked a Dutch word. I'm 15 years old, I live in Belgium and I'm turning 16 on the 20th of August 9.gif. I don't have a job so I can't tell about my job. I hope I will enjoy this board as much as other boards I visit like BWBoard. That's a Beyonc

Well, I just got my admitting e-mail, so I guess I really am here.

Hi, my name is a secret.  I wouldn't want any slimy marketing guy to find out who I really am, so everyone can call me Ori, I guess.  You won't know what my name means unless you speak French.

So, what do I do.  Well, I like to explore new things, play SimCity 4 Rush Hour, and listen to what people say.  You never know what people will come out with.

Let me see, what about me?  I have two grandchildren, a girl and a boy.  They match the gender of their parents, my son and daughter.  I have a niece and a nephew, both my sister's kids, and they have presented me with two grand-nieces and a grand-nephew.  I have no parents or in-laws left, so I am at the top of the family tree just now.  I will probably be exfoliated sometime in the next three decades or so.  I would like to make it to the point my Uncle Jock did.  He got to five score and six.

You can probably infer from all this that I am retired.  Once upon a time I was a high-class marketing support consultant for a major computer manufacturer who sold large scale machines.  Then, one day, the division was folded and I, and about 8,000 other people got their pink slip the same day.  After I got over the shock, and remembered that one of the things I did for the old outfit was teach, I went into teaching computer science at a college.  They retired me when I hit 65 because their union had a 65 and out clause and they didn't want to upset the union.  I wasn't in the union, but ...

So now, I am a pensioner, living on what could be said to be about a quarter of my peak income.  I am a widower (oops, now you know I am male), and a dog lover.  I don't particularly like cats as I seem to be allergic to them.  I like almost all other animals, but I do have a problem with those that have strong scent glands like wolverines, skunks and ferrets.

If I had it to do again, I think I would have either been in medicine or veterinary science.

Hi all.

I'm brand new ti SimCity 4 and SimTropolis, and I am finding that SimCity is a pretty good hobby. I never imagined that there would be such a large community of players. I am glad I found you folks!

I have SimCity 4 Deluxe and have just started experimenting with it. I've played earlier versions of SimCity, but this is an entirely different animal. Looking forward to exploring your site and talking to you all. Glad to be here!

Hi Guys!

I'm Reikhardt, 30 year old Brit and currently cruising through the last 6 or so months of my current job before I quit to be a stay at home dad for my due to be born son!

Embarrasingly, I have only just got into SC4 and having exhausted the bog standard game (building big, boring cities and regions) I'm looking at building something a little more aesthetically pleasing and realistic.

Evening

I suddenly had a massive attack of nostalgia when a Simcity thread was started on Facepunch, and decided to install Simcity 4 again. To my surprise, I have multiple accounts here, most of which I've long-forgotten about - I've got one from when we used AOL for God's sake, and I hadn't even done my GCSE's when I first made an account. Christ, I'm in university now

Anyway, so as you've probably guessed, I've been around for ages, only I've been lurking. I've got a problem that needs fixing, hence my coming out of the blue, but I figured I might as well post in the watch-ma-call it, the Say Hello thread

I'm an International Politics and French student at Aberystwyth University, and I regularly write articles about video games for The Courier, the student newspaper, Left Mouse Button, a video games site run by two fellow wastrels, The Blue Casket, a games diary website run by a group of close knit gamers, and Critical Gaming, which is the same, only different

Hey there you can call me Csquare. I live in a suburb of Green Bay, Wisconsin. I will be in college in a few years where i plan to become a mechanical engineer so if anyone is an engineer i would love to hear about all the aspects. I am a cheesehead by law in Wisconsin, however i by far prefer soccer. I play in the highest league you can be for my age group so i travel around the country playing, by far my favorite part of my life. I also play lacrosse however I don't find as much joy in it as i used to.

I have been playing Sim City 4 for years and after watching a video about add-ons for the game i realized how much better the game could be so i downloaded a few and have been playing ever since. I have been creeping here for a very long time and i decided it was time to start talking to other players. I enjoy this game because it requires thought and strategy rather than avoiding newb tubes for hours which is rather paltry. Like i said if you have or are an engineer, message me as i would love to know more about the career. My hero: Jay DeMerit and Craig Ferguson, nuff said

HI all, I had a few days off work so I decided to pull out my old Sim City 4 disk and reinstall. I haven't played since I moved to my new PC a year or two back. I'd hoped that Spore would occupy me, but it just didn't happen so I wanted to get back into SC4 and look at user designs and mods, maybe even get into to some of the design myself.

I'm from Nashville TN, a market analyst with an insurance company for my day job, and also enjoy guitar, songwriting, and stock investing.

Hi, everyone! I'm Ian, a high school student from San Francisco, and an intern volunteer at the Market Street Railway, which is a non-profit group dedicated to preserving historic transit (mostly streetcars and cable cars) in San Francisco, such as the 2 SF Municipal Railway cars on Simtropolis (cars #130 and #162; done by screamingman12, amazing work).

Anyways, I've been playing SC4 since 2004, but I only discovered Simtropolis about 3 years ago. Then, shortly after that, my primary computer (a 7 year old Pentium 4 antique barely capable of SC4) decided to self-destruct, forcing me to go to my backup, an even older computer, which could not run SC4 without me getting frustrated and getting a hammer to smash it into pieces. Thankfully, I've finally gotten a new computer, so I can start enjoying SC4 again 9.gif

Hi everyone! I've been on here for a while, but didn't find this thread for a while. Well anyway, I'm Stephen from Connecticut. I would love to go to college (Yale would be nice) to become an architect. Being an architect is my dream, and that would be awesome. There's a list of possible careers for me though. I wouldn't mind being a city planner, because I think that'd be a fun job for me. I'd also like to be a pilot, because my dad owns a plane. Right now, I'm just focusing on graduating High School with flying colors.

I hope I'm doing this right... The topic is called "Introduce yourself here!" and I'll do just that...

I'm called Ganaram DI, though I'm called GDO29Anagram or Ganaram on other sites.

I've been playing/toying with/experimenting with Simcity 4 one and a half years now...

Being a part of a community [Any community, whether it be deviantART or SC4Devotion] ain't new to me; In fact, I've been active on SC4Devotion for quite a bit, up to the point of become a NAM AssociateThe Network Addon Mod and all the various plugins (HSR, CAN-AM, NWM, etc), RTMT, Traffic Simulator Z, and pretty much everything else are now second-nature to me. I figured it's time to get this account up to speed...

Some brief history of myself: I discovered SC4 about last year... (I was already part of a Happy Tree Friends community in deviantART at the time...) I found some videos on YouTube and found a few made by Haljackey and ErwinNegentig and others; They had this weird thing called the "Network Addon Mod." At first I didn't wanna get it since I needed to log in, but compelling desire made me do so... So more stuff came along for me (The plugins for the NAM, RTMT, and such...)

What I like about this: The Rural Highway Mod (Which I understand was renamed to RealHighway...) Originally I didn't wanna use it because it was complicated to make interchanges that are compact enough... And with understanding of real-life measurements [of real-life highways compared to the Maxis highways] and how they compare in the game, now I'm just addicted to the RHW; It's my favorite aspect of the NAM's array of optional plugins. Plus, customizability of the highways. My top favorite of all the NAM plugins...

Second on that list of favourites is the Network Widening Mod (It actually became the first on my list just recently): I know it's only the first version, but there's quite a bit of more potential for it still... Functionality-wise and aesthetic-wise... I like to edit textures... I began work on my own set of darker textures... For everything except for RHW, Maxis Highways, and other things such as rail and SAM (Except for intersections...).

I hope to showcase some of the things I make with the RHW here (I believe this site also has an Interchange thread...) among other things....

Now when I said, "I was already part of a Happy Tree Friends community in deviantART," I mean I've experience of being in other online communities, including SC4Devotion. I've gotten used to how forums work now. The only reason I ever joined onto Simtropolis is to download custom content, including the NAM. Not even lurk in the forums... Actually I joined ST first BEFORE SC4D.

So I'm pretty much a newbie to the ST community... I've a lot of things to learn... Problem is this: I learn too fast...

Also note that many of my thoughts are expressed through illustrations and a lot of writings (Especially on deviantART, and also notable on SC4Devotion) . Many things I'll express may require an illustration. I know how to handle that... Problem is that I can't get a preview of what I post...

Who knows where I'll go from here?

So anyway... Yeah...

- GDO29Anagram.

And no, I'm not gonna disclose the exact location as to where I live... Just not yet... All I'm gonna say that it's rural, it's in the desert (Mojave Desert), and the name of the city has had a major influence on my SC4D, deviantART, and YouTube usernames of GDO29Anagram (It's actually "G-DO-29--Anagram" for deviantART.).

One more note: When I created my ST account, I never thought of using the same exact name or any slight variation of "G-DO-29--Anagram" since I wanted to use completely different names,... So I used "Ganaram DI" instead... I kinda wish I didn't, but it's fine for me. As long as people from SC4D can identify that it IS me on the off chance that I ever DO upload something to the STEX...

I had Simcity 4 Deluxe a few years ago; but I lost it. Recently, I got interested in it again, so I might get it later this month for my birthday. I'll also download the NAM. A question:

Is it possible for me to get Simcity 4 Deluxe without having to get the Simcity Box or ordering online?

Another thing, is it possible to completely replace dirty industry with high-tech? (no cheat mods)

You certainly can buy SC4D in the store without getting the entire SimCity Box. I got mine at GameStop, but I'm not sure if you have game stores around your area.

I've been here for a couple weeks and have yet to introduce myself, so I suppose I shall do that now...

Hey, y'all! I am Aundrea! Originally from Georgia, but just moved to Eugene, Oregon in September after a 5-year-long stay at Ft Hood, Texas with my (now ex-military) husband and our super awesome basset hound. I'm 27, work for Enterprise Holdings (Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National, Alamo, WeCar), and I will finally be finishing up my business management degree starting in January. When I have free time I generally spend it working on one of my many unfinished cities in SC4D, drafting floorplan designs, cooking delicious meals, traveling to the coast, or reading in the bed. I am a devout member of American Atheists, volunteer at our local Boys and Girls Club a few times a month, and I also help police-call park paths in the Adopt-A-Path program. Needless to say, I enjoy staying busy and active in my community. That is pretty much me in a nutshell!
