Update:

Cori and I hereby agree to start declassifying relevant information from the Simtropolis Bureau of Investigation (SBI), in relation to the recent Shattermore shenanigans. This decision is made in light of the need for transparency and accountability regarding the smashing events of the past month. It is absolutely imperative that the smashing data is released accessibly for community scrutiny, in accordance with established protocol at ST (and the enduring history of internet folklore).

I got into the top 20 by just smashing bulbs whenever I checked a new reply on the forum. I'm not the kind to keep refreshing a page over and over again.

I wrongly assumed that I wouldn't be included in this list, having developed a clever way of bypassing light bulbs. I suspect that Shattermore knew how to create countermeasures! ... magnetism, a gravity well that forces the mouse to move towards the horizon of a browser window ... ?

I would like to thank all who helped my my victory in this (not)contest possible; my parents, my close friends & family, the good folks of Simtropolis, the neighbours' cat, and of course the Shattermore company for manufacturing such criminally breakable bulbs.

I have since cashed out my shares in Shattermore, and combined with the already generous dividends gained from said stock, I will be now retreating to my luxury compound in the tax haven that is the Sim Virgin Islands...

The whole event has been great fun, and I appreciate everyone for taking part and playing along.

A big thanks to @CaptCity for writing the Simtropolis Gazette news articles. They've added an extra touch of humor and drama to proceedings. Also to @CorinaMarie for her ideas and input particularly with the creative aspects (including the Shattermore SC4 lot). I wouldn't have accomplished it all without you.

Additionally, thanks to @The Thinker for coming up with the whole Shattermore Novelty Lights Company Inc. Ltd.™ brand name to begin with.

I think it was all a smashing success. From my own perspective, it's a relief everything worked with the counting logic and also the invoice form. That was the most technically involving aspect, especially with the payment sequence. I'm pleased how it functions smoothly and also I managed to learn a few things in the process. Maybe some of which I can apply to other site development in future, which is a bit more productive than all this...

Also it does give scope to see where this bulb breaking event leads in future, although I won't promise anything different next year. It was a lot of work getting things to this point, so we'll have to see how much free time I have. It was spontaneous on this occasion, as I only thought of the idea in the 2nd week of December.

Feel free to keep posting in here with invoice pics or anything else. Or if anyone wants to have a go at analysing more of the data, go for it!

I know personally, I have a job that gives me a crazy amount of time off during the holidays. So once my first-week travels were done, I had a lot of time on my hands.

Granted, some of that time was used in finding and tracking 'vandals'...

I see right around the time that the countdown ticker showed up, the numbers of smashed bulbs per day picked up drastically. There was something about the clock that kept us motivated. I suppose, for me it was seeing the end is in sight. Then we got that extension!

I don't know about how I feel about not being #1 on any given day. Seems about right but there was a slight twinge of disappointment, I'm ashamed to admit. Also, I love how we were all red in the graphs and the kinder people were green in the graphs. I chuckled at that touch.

For me it wasn't breaking the bulbs, but graphing the graphs as what I was most looking forward to. It's quite interesting what can be presented from simple data when analysing it, and there's probably more insights could be found. However, I somehow suspect Shattermore knows more than any of us agents at the SBI.

You scored very well considering it took a week until breaking your first light bulb of the event.

Hypothetically if averaging your 27k per day over the first 6 days, it would've resulted in at least 160k more bulbs broken for your personal total. I think an interesting thing was the percentage share being viewable as the only real-time ranking info.

I considered displaying where one ranked in the scoreboard, but thought it'd add more mystery about it all to keep that held back.

that's quite true. Though, the whole reason was cause I had forgotten to check the site. Then, when I did that's when I saw the updates to the whole thing, lol

Not sure how I'll be doing next year if this is still around by then, just cause of how stuff was for me this time around, so, I doubt I'll be in the same position. But, this was pretty cool to get to this time around for sure.

It's the hard-working analysts at the SBI and the Simtropolis Helpful Intelligence Team (still need an acronym for that one... ) who know where the 'bodies are buried,' so to speak...

It has bats by @SimFox, even ones that he kept secret! And 100's of bats from the NYBT, HKABT and the little known SOSBT (SOUTHEND-ON-SEA BAT TEAM) it is flabbergasting!
