Ho-ly ****-bucket.   - Mod edit: Swearing is not acceptable on ST. -

How did you get your highway textures get so nice?

Also what lines did you use for the highway as props?

Your shots are amazing!

Edit:Sorry for the accidental swearing, didn't intend it :(

Thank you, guys :)

@Abrams124 - the highway textures are from the new Road United: North America Plus texture pack. It lacks yellow stripes for highways, but the overall colors and especially the node textures (highway exits/entrances) are much better than the older texture packs (imo.)
IIrc. the lines are the long Bike lane stripes (which I think are vanilla props), placed with the Prop Line Tool.

Superb attention to detail. Love the hyper realism achieved in the shots. Impressive work.

The scaffolding is superb- another welcome addition to the workshop

@_Beardmonkeyhow tall is your corrugated fence?

I'd like to make a request, if I could. I love this fence you've made, but would it be possible to make another one that's taller, like 10-12 feet, and has barb wire on top?

You sometimes see fences like that around some industrial lots.

Anyway, just a request, if you have the time and desire to. Thanks again for the fence and scaffolding.

It's 2.3 m tall. I'm planning to make a more detailed version of that fence so I might just make it taller and put som barbed wire on top. That's a great idea actually!

Upgraded from 16gb to 32gb of RAM and I can finally load the game without crashing now! View of the mall from the uptown business district. Some expensive apartments, condos and homes in the foreground.

That looks nice.

Question: What is the thing in the far right mid-ground with the helipad? And what is the thing in the right foreground? Is that a hospital?

I have been working on several different things over the past 400 hours of gameplay. Yet, now, with the Move it! tool I'm experimenting with some compact interchanges. I have, however, run into a bit of a avian problem.

Nice interchange :D There's always No Seagulls to fix your bird problem - a must-have mod for me. :P

That mod has now been subscribed to! Let's hope that fixes the 'issue'. :)

I'm currently working on a new industrial complex: lots of stuff to plop, even more surfaces to paint, and tons of props/flora to place.

What's that white building in the center with the single smoke stack?

I decided to scrap my old castle and straight out copy (90%) the castle and town of Conwy, because after all the map is based on that location (Anywhere, UK - derived from Conwy map). No detailing yet, it's still very rough, but I'm already happy with how it turned out.

Bonus: With the release of Dexter's Rainy Day LUT I experimented with some british weather.

I've actually seen that striped building before, but I don't remember what it is. I want to say it's a power plant, but I don't recall.

@Matthias King / @Tomas13TO - the powerplant with the tall smoke stack is this one (upon review I'm going to let that one go, as 40MB for a single asset, even a complex one, is unacceptable - I remember downloading it to see what footprint it has and what it looked like in-game, but must have forgotten to un-sub again afterwards...)
The green/black complex with all the storage tanks is this asset (which is one of the three parts that make up the Metsä-Fibre pulp mill).

Ouch. Yea, 40 megs is preposterously large.

Now that you point it out, I actually remember seeing it on the workshop, but when I saw the file size I clicked back so fast my head spun. It's too bad. It could be a cool asset if it were about 1/10th the size.

I have the small version of the Metsa Fibre Mill. Yours is apparently the larger footprints version. For some reason I didn't recognize it in your picture.

Good pics by the way, as usual.

I have just treated myself to a new, frighteningly fast gaming laptop, so I finally have a bit of breathing room when it comes to my asset addiction, but 40MB is simply too much. Unless we're talking about a building that has and a huge footprint and is of insanely high quality - this plant is good, but by no means extra-ordinary...
And yes, I use the larger version of that fiber mill indeed - the fastest way to create massive industrial complexes ;)

Thanks! The Helipad building is the following: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=712112027&searchtext=research

And the foreground is two hospitals back to back: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=414334725&searchtext=hospital

I just downloaded that plant just because I was curious... It has a 4096 x 4096 map, half of it is just empty... and the stuff that is there is tiled a lot, which is just useless. I don't understand what the creator was thinking.

And it's 27k tris...

Sounds like a lazy modeler to me (or perhaps inexperienced). I doubt he's still active though: I've seen no reactions to the various comments about the file size on the Workshop page: a shame really, because in essence it's a very nice asset...
btw: his other power plant (the coal-powered one) also is huge in file size (about 36MB), but it has a much larger footprint (meaning less tris per unit) - texture size probably is off the charts, though :(

Nice! I've been wanting a salvage yard.

Can I also recommend props like pulled engines, metal shelves with tires, maybe pulled windshields, and miscellaneous car parts?
