I should upload the final images as an update fo my last area view.
Not the prettiest city ever (Avanya's is lot prettier), but it was an effort to max the population (940k, but hit the citizen unit limit)

Damn you guys have some great shots here! Best place to come for inspiration for sure :D

I've got a suburban area that came out really nice, so I figured I'd share. Lots of custom buildings, custom European theme and lots of mods to make it look this good! :D After some getting used to CS having lots of space to work (unlike SimCity2013) with I've managed to allow myself to leave open green areas like the park here and it just looks much better. The rest of my city still needs work, but this side of the river is close to finished. ^^

I love how every thing flows so smoothly, from the river Quays, to the high rise buildings and the roads, really gorgeous and certainly inspiring.

Wow! That's one of the most realistic layouts I've seen yet, @cs_k3! Nicely done.

It's coming along slowly. 160k+. Just finished up the port area along with some highways and islands.

Gorgeous!
What map is it that you use? I'm thinking about starting a new city (or an entire area rather) inspired by the Ohio River valley, so I'm looking for a map that has a nice river valley, with room for a small handful of small cities, surrounded by rolling hills, an optional seaboard (for a Cleveland-like main city) - this one checks a lot of the right boxes.

@Judazzz @gfv1974 Thanks for the kind words! The map is: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=670806933

It's a very well made map. Depending on what you want to do, you may need to make some changes (the river has some waterfalls in it, and I had to add a ship route for the river, and the river is a little skinny at places) but the rolling hills are amazing, the detailing is spectacular, and it's a wonderful mix of challenging but accessible terrain to build on. Hope this helps!

@cs_k3 - thank you very much for the link, that maps looks incredible indeed (too bad it doesn't use Mr_Maison's trees instead of the vanilla ones). I couldn't find it in the description or comments, but what biome does it use (most suitable for my plants would be a temperate one - obviously I can change that with a mod, but still...)
You may be right about having to customize a few things here and there, but I don't mind that: I'm pretty lousy at terra-forming, but I'm nonetheless confident minor cosmetic changes should be within range of my limited skill set.
I'll probably give the terrain theme a wide berth however: Rust Belt and coral reef blue waters don't really mix that well :P

The lack of size makes the city look much smaller, yet the towers make it look much larger.

@Ecania It looks really nice! What I personnally do to post pictures is convert them to jpg and reduce their size a bit but as there's a total limit (100MB?) on how much you can post on this forum the best solution is probably to use imgur or something, which I might look into.

It's stuff like this that keeps C:S alive. If you compare this to the screenshots posted a year ago, it's amazing how far we've come in a year. I just hope the simulation aspect will get a boost aswell.

ya men, we have millions of buildings, vehicles, props on workshop a few good mods for roadcustomsation and enhanced tools for public transports.

There is so much room what you coult add into it almost unlimited space for micromanagments or enhancment for simulation stuff.

The problem at moment i see is that everyone can throw in something and release it at workshop. Like mods for windsimulation, firespreading, firefighting, enhanced citzien livecycles, real population and all this little pieces. In the future we need something like a mainmod that can eat all this little pieces and put them together in main category mods to have them work good together without getting to much errors or incompability. Modders allready work on it somehow like Networkskins, Rushhour, Trafficmods and we`ve seen i on SC4 - soon or later they will come together and work together ( some allready do).

Im pretty happy with CS it is a great Citysimulation/builder and we waited so long for a good one after SC4 :D

It might be obvious to everyone but I like doing nighttime satellite shots. Pretty lights. And why does this forum keep duplicating my images every time?

Be laying out the area for that space between to the left of the airport and doing the seaport next.

As an added bonus, have too, a cimtographer map of the city. The city always looks better when it's a map XD

When ever I try cimtographer, I just get gaps along the road which makes it unusable for me. Like loads of spaces missing. :(
