Look through the NWM networks, located in the roads menu.  Tab through the options and you'll see a few different '4-lane' roads.

Okay. Watch this space for pics in a sec...

This is L1 onslope with starters only on the higher ground:

(Problems with MIS, and 7C)

...

With starters on the L2 side 7C gets fixed but not the MIS:

...

L1-L3 works kinda:

...

On the whole great functionality NAM team though it would be nice to fix that MIS bug ;)

I had thought those pieces were Flex for any height! (I had posted a picture of my problem in this thread a number of weeks ago, I think). The MIS bug definitely needs fixing; it's probably the most useful application of that feature (multi-height on-slope transitions) for going over other stretches of raised (not-el) RHW. Add to the bug list, perhaps? (DEFCON 3 or 4?)

do a custom install and pick the things you need.

HSRP is definitely part of NAM 31.2.  Since you said this happened after you installed the NAM, I just ran my installer again to check.  Standard monorail is not part of NAM.  However many stations and bridges are.  Are you sure you have what you need?  NAM tends to shuffle the deck when it comes to menus.  Both the Bullet Train Mod (BTM) and the High Speed Rail Project on check-offs in my installer.  I wonder if they are mutually exclusive, since I don't use either.

This is true; with the NAM, the monorail tool is much farther down in the rail menu.  Also, if you've installed the Bullet Train Mod, the monorail tool turns into a Bullet Train tool, since the two networks are mutually exclusive.

They're not; you can have both in the same city.

Well, that's what happened to your monorail tool - it turned into a bullet train tool.

Yes.

Guys, is it me or has the Flex SPUI lost left hand drive textures in this last update? The paths work but the wrong texture is displayed. It could be an installer bug, as was the case with the messed up lhd texture interference for the RHW, but I don't know how to debug that.

Sorry if I'm not the first to mention this, but am I doing something wrong here?

No FA piece connects correctly. Forgot to check the paths but I just want to know wether this is a thing on my end or a known issue? If it's merely cosmetical I guess it's not a huge deal but it kills me a little :<

It's the fault of the repositioned textures. Can't recall if it's the transition or the FAD, but I did end up reworking the FAD for the next release.

I was thiiiis close to downloading that yesterday, unaware it would fix that little glitch, so I guess there's no way around it for me at this point. Thanks for the suggestion!

Textures can be as off as much as 127 pixels and the representative puzzle piece will still function. In other words, it's cosmetic and 1000% harmless.

Yeah, I actually did go back into the game yesterday to check drawpaths and it's obviously all fine, so that's okay. It's just that cosmetics do matter a little more to me and, you know... :D

Hello All,

I am creating regional and city maps for a future CJ about American life in the 18th and 19th Centuries. I will be done with these soon and will be installing NAM in the near future which, I have never installed before. After looking through the documentation I see that NAM contains a lot of stuff that would not be found in an Old West setting. I will need things like dirt, gravel, tared, and asphalt roads, single lane and two way. Single and double tracked rail lines and appropriate bridges for these networks. I don't really want to fill my plugins folder with things like interstate highways, multi-lane stuff and elevated rail and mono-rail things. Can anyone give me a list of which components I should install to achieve what I want to do?

Thanks to you all.......................................Runamuck

Use the custom install and be very, very selective.  One of the nice things about the new installer is that you can run it ad libitum until you get exactly what you want.

Hello Nonny Moose,

Thank you for the tip, I started the install to get that custom screen and saw so many choices that I will have to dig through the PDF files. Why is this thing called a MOD, it should be called "SimCity 4 Rush Hour/Deluxe Transit System Upgrade. This thing is huge!!!......................................Runamuck

Why is this thing called a MOD, it should be called "SimCity 4 Rush Hour/Deluxe Transit System Upgrade. This thing is huge!!!

It's because of how the NAM was originally developed; it was originally a mere collection of transit simulator fixes and nothing else.

Plus, the name "Network Addon Mod" has stuck ever since the name was created, and there's no other way to call it other than an expansion pack. If you're to download the NAM from a few years ago, you would've had to download at least one or two other NAM-dependent packages, and that's the reason the NAM is so monstrously big: so that everything that's NAM-dependent is within one package.

And if you need any other NAM-related technical help, I recommend looking for one of the other NAM Team Members (myself, Mandelsoft, Tarkus, z1, etc) or another moderator or notable member (many of them know the gameplay aspect).

I'm trying to install NAM 31.2 on my computer, which just has been reset to factoy settings, but I'm having trouble getting the NAM installer to run Cleanitol. I select the complete installation option and the following screen then says "Cleanitol will be run" but it just doesn't happen during the installation. It all worked fine before I reset my computer to factory settings. What could be the problem? Cleanitol was the first thing I installed after installing SC4 Deluxe.

The NAM has its own version of Cleanitol built in.  It's probably a newer version than yours; one way or another, the presence of two (probably different) versions of Cleanitol is probably causing confusion.  I'd recommend uninstalling the version you installed; if you want to use Cleanitol for other programs, get the latest version from the LEX.  I haven't heard of this problem before, so having two copies of the same version should be OK.

Also note that when the NAM installer runs, the Cleanitol window sometimes shows up behind everything else.  Your problem may be as simple as that.
