From my experience, commuters are treated almost like freight.  They go across a city border, and then who knows...

Connections are just bugged beyond salvation.  I think the only requirement actually necessary to commute across the border is for there to be jobs there.  Traffic doesn't even always reflect across borders.

Well, I figured it might be worth a note.  I am only and vastly amused by the silly things I find in this old buggy.

What we haven't discovered yet is that they actually work in-between the cities.  In that cold, dark void that we cannot see.  They work in another dimension.  A dimension of sound.  A dimension of sight.  A dimension of mind.  They work in a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas.  They work in.....

This would actually explain a whole lot about the game. :thumb:

Random dumb question:  What are these?

post-8584-0-14255000-1374863759.jpg

They remind me of roundabout approach splitter islands; though I've never seen them in such a configuration.  When first I saw them I thought it was a graphical glitch...  Evidently they only appear in at street intersections in commercially zoned areas?

They only appear in medium and high density zones, I think.

In real life however, I think I've only ever seen them in low density residential or commercial areas.

I've never seen them at all in real life.

In the middle of major roads, occasionally, but never un-painted streets.  And they don't really look like that.  They must exist somewhere, in some cities; the NAM guys don't usually make stuff up.

This one is the first one i could think of off the top of my head. It's in Berkeley, CA, and I have seen better examples here that look exactly like the NAM ones (just can't find them at the moment) so they do exist.

By the way, zoom out and take a look at the whole intersection, I can assure you this gave me a headache the first time i drove through it :P

Is there a bug with the RHW 6S Type A2 exit (and only the exit the entrance is fine) in NAM 31.2?

I get this (UK SC4 Deluxe - left hand drive edition of that makes a difference):

Good afternoon fellow Simcity players. I've started playing Simcity again , I've been re-downloading and adding more downloads to game , including the NAM. However I do not having the road intercourse turning lanes , I've re installed the NAM with the turning lanes installed too. The TuLEPs are in the menu and I can plop them.

But , here's a pic explaining my problem.

post-405315-0-00388600-1374945534.png

I just downloaded both the updates from SC4Devotion too.

I am using the newest NAM from June 3rd.

Thanks , Joe.

I've seen that one reported, but am unable to replicate it, at least on RHD with standard textures.  It may well be something specific to LHD or to that particular texture set.

Ah - good point, should have mentioned I'm using the Euro (UK) texture set... found a couple of FAR pieces that have broken textures as well in that set since (was using FAR ramps as a workaround). I might try switching to the standard textures tomorrow and let you know - if that fixes it at least the bug will have been pinpointed.

-- EDIT ---

Figured I may as well try it now...

First I just unchecked the "UK Additional Textures" option to see if that would fix it ... it doesn't.

Switching to the US Standard texture set rather than the Euro Standard texture DOES fix it (and the FAR curves as well by the looks of it) ... so yeah, it's definitely something in the Euro Standard textures.

Actually, it looks like the installer left some South Africa/Irish texture set files along with the Euro textures. I have the Irish texture set and that error shows up too. (I fixed it by an attachment from a NAM dev in SC4Devotion (PLEASE NOTE: That attachment is for Irish texture set, not European texture set) Try this:

Step 1: Go into Plugins folder and look for z__NAM.

Step 2: Open that folder and go into "Road Textures"

Step 3: After opening that folder, double click on the subfolder found inside that folder.

Step 4: Go into "RHW".

Step 5: If you see a folder named "6_Ireland+SouthAfrica_Optional", delete that. This may solve your problem.

Hope this helps!

Nope, sorry ;|

I've tried about 6 different re-installs of the NAM now, with the UK road markings, without the UK road markings, with and without the additional UK textures and combinations of the two - including no additional textures bar the Euro Standard and in that folder I only ever have either:

0_Standard                  (always)

4_UK_Optional             (depends on whether it's installed or not)

Doesn't seem to be adding or leaving the Ireland + South Africa textures... possibly because I'm doing a custom install and checking what I'm putting in in the first place  ;)

Basically - if I'm using Euro textures at all, I hit that glitch.

Probably the creator of the Euro textures mod accidentally overwritten some of the textures from the Ireland texture set. Please PM MandelSoft and see if he can help you... :)

Well, it's an installer bug. Instead of installing LHD support for the texture set that you need and the basic set, it installs ALL LHD support files. That's the essence of the problem here. Remove the redundant LHD support files from the Euro RHW textures.

I was posting a while ago to get help because my installer stopped working. I tried installing it again after a while, and for whatever reason it worked perfectly. Thanks for the help anyway!

Hello !

I have a strange situation here. I have two monorail stations on a single line. There seems to be a gap in the flow in traffic and showpaths view. In real view it seems OK.  I not sure but i think it is affecting my traffic movement and is counting as a discontinuity. Screen shots attached. Observations / comments and help welcome. I have latest SC4 Deluxe and latest NAM. Also, i have tried destroying and remaking and all, its the same result everytime.

Thanks

The question here is whether this is a display bug in the route query tool or an actual pathing bug, which is much more serious.  If it's a pathing bug, you would have no traffic (as revealed by the route query tool) in the direction where the arrow is missing.  Is this the case?

as is visible there is a break in the traffic line. So i think it is the bigger problem

That gap is merely the station. not the track in front of it, and is normal.  If there were a break in the traffic, you would have to traffic at all between the station and the border, as traffic needs both a source and destination.

You need to use the Route Query Tool on the border section of the track for both the morning and evening commute.  This is the easiest way to tell if there's traffic heading from the station to the border, or whether it's an LHD path problem.

Well, i'll check on that but my worry is that the guys boarding from the station on the upstream of the one shown is picture. If there is this break, whether they are reaching the adjoining city or not ? ow can i check that?

The guys who are boarding here are going on to the adjoining city. There is no problem with that.

If you know that for sure, then there is no break in traffic for anyone, and everything is working fine here.  Paths either work for everybody or nobody; it never depends on what their origin is.

I downloaded the nam, but I did not have the patch. I downloaded the patch, installed it but the nam still said I didn't have the patch. I am not sure what I did wrong with the patch.

Two possibilities--either you installed the wrong patch, or you have a NoCD .exe (which the NAM does not recognize as a legitimate install).
