@kingofsimcity ... Thanks! I can't say that was the look I was originally going for, but now that you mention it...... :ninja:

Also, I can't remember if I've shown this one before, but I created a few new versions anyways: Circuit City 70s.

    And the two new ones:

    First two look great!

third one on the bottom right, I'm not a fan of.  Eliminate the parking on the front and you could get it to work, but for now, the cars overhang slightly and it really emphasizes how small and undersized the entrance is (Ok I'm nitpicking on the last bit, but the parking needs work though)

I kind of like it myself but I do see what you mean. I whipped up a second version - I'm not totally convinced about the drive up, though; let me know what you think.

That little skinny area in front of the store is kind of awkward to work with, which is why I went for the parking in the first place. To me, the one with the streetside parking has a more European aesthetic to it - I'm thinking a large city with limited parking.

This one was a surprise. Found in the deep annals of SimcityChina, I found another B62 building I had never seen before. Interestingly, it is the third variation of Walmart B62 has created.

So, thanks to our friends in China, I present, Walmart Style 03:

    ------------------------------

It seems that I am most of the way through all of my previous B62 uploads. Those will be uploaded soon(ish) for a certain special occasion. :ninja:

Until then, I decided to take on one project in the mean time that I will show when I make some better progress. Hint: it involves something recently uploaded.

Only thing is are you going to add cart lots on here?

From the looks of the last layout, I should've really made better TE-friendly transitional textures :lost:. Apart from that, everything else looks solid as usual.

Looking forward to the day where you release all of these into the wild. *:golly:

@Evanjs ... :thumb: Good catch! I'll definitely fix that.

@kingofsimcity ... In retrospect, maybe, but it would have been impossible to account for every variation. The ones you already made look good enough as they are. Although, if you were planning on making some, I definitely would not be opposed...... :sly:

Cool to see another Walmart. I don't mind supercenters and all that, but there are still a handful of communities that have a small store which I'm glad to see being represented.

The gas stations are great. Geez, where I live they seem to be everywhere...even repetitive growth would be realistic like that.

I saw that there is a wish for different pumps? You mean the roofs? That's a pretty easy bat...we could get that done. In fact if one wanted to try batting...this is a perfect choice. I would put the road side signs up there as easy was well.

    Cheers, tiger

@tigerbuilder ... If you ever do decide to put something together, I'd be more than happy to lot it for you. I am pretty confident that I will not travel to that side of the modding spectrum as I rarely have enough time to lot as it is (even though I have a long list of buildings I'd love to see in the game).

    @RRetail ... Thanks! :thumb:

Union 76 and HESS are probably my favourites among all these great relots. I could use some old-style gas stations for the way I prefer to play, and these certainly fit the bill.

    Two things I noticed:

    • you have a tree clipping into the shop building of the Texaco station.
    • That Sunoco station is half a forest! Of course it's your decision, but I think you may have overdone it a little on that one. The Texaco station is fine IMO, and we can always add more trees from the mayor menu. *:)

These are minor observations, though - splendid work to see here, as always!

    @raynev1 , @RRetail ... Thanks for the kind words! ^_^

@T Wrecks ... Agreed. I'll thin out the trees. At that point, I wanted a second lot and didn't have ideas so I just got lazy. Maybe I'll make a 2x3 or 2x4 lot instead.

Well, now that I look at it, the smaller lot could use some pruning too...

Some more really good-looking and smart lots! I like the crowded Shell service station a lot, and the Retro Mobil lots are great, too. *:)

Just a little heads up: On the Sunoco EcoWash lots, there's some clipping issue with the trees and that Uniglory container. The same applies to that Shell Service station with the yellow fuel pump structures, whose lots interfere with the cars you placed there (pity!).

@T Wrecks ... Thanks! I'll fix the issues with Shell, but I think there's something weird with the container because the second tree is far back by the fence line - the trunk never overlaps the container. I'll play around with it and see if something works. Thanks for your kind words! ^_^

Might as well show off the last of them.

I love the new Texaco lots!

Those pesky trees may simply have very wide LODs. I also run into that problem pretty often when I place a tree, only to see in game that its trunk clips into a fence that's several Simmetres away.

There's another issue of tree clipping on the bigger Valero lot - I guess simply getting rid of that tree wouln't be a problem, the lot won't look to empty that way. Speaking of Valero, I like that colour scheme of the buildings, but IMO the smaller lot shows that they go better with a lighter base texture. Then again, it may simply take some getting used to. I also have the impression that the building corner cuts really far into the exit on the big Valero lot. Have you thought about flipping the pump structure by 90 degress so that the cars would traverse the lot parallel to the front of the building?

All in all, I love seeing these lots that you keep pumping out because you design very creative configurations, and your attention to detail shows just everywhere. They have just what I like in SimCity: all those fiddly details that make it a pleasure sometimes just to scroll around in zoom 5 and enjoy your city. *:) Quite the opposite to current 3D endeavours, where cities look breathtaking from a distance, but as you zoom in, you start noticing the cloudy textures, the simplified models, and the barren lots... it will be a while before we have the best of both worlds, but that's a different discussion altogether. While future will show what's possible in that respect, I sure enjoy the present, and that's not least due to content creators like you and others here on SimTrop or elsewhere, so keep 'em coming! *:thumb:

    Nice work!

With your tree issue, look for the word 'street' in the description when using the CP trees - if memory serves me correctly, trees with that name were given amended LODs so as not to cut into adjacent buildings

@DavidDHetzel ... I'll definitely look into it. I was also thinking of doing something with Heblem's gas station pack, but most of the models have that very unfortunate white base.

@T Wrecks ... I changed the 4x4 Valero to use the lighter base texture, and I agree - it looks so much better. Rotating the pumps 90 deg makes the areas against the road and the building very tight but opens up vast areas on either side. In short, it doesn't look good IMO on a 4x4 lot. Maybe I'll experiment putting it on a 3x4 lot with the rotated pumps, as you suggested.

And, I am in total agreement with you over 3D games today. Thank you so much for your kind words! It really does mean a lot coming from Mr. IRM*

@mattb325 ... You were totally correct about the street trees. I swapped them out and everything works beautifully! 8164249.gif
