Very nice, easily one of the best industrial areas I have seen in SC4. I like how much attention has been paid to the details and the diversity throughout the area.

Excellent work, as others have mentioned these are some of the industrial areas I've seen in an SC4 CJ. Fantastic work!

The Three Diablo nuclear facility. Named after three prototype thorium-based reactors which use the more economical and cleaner Thorium-232 fuel. These reactors are not wired up to the electric grid and their chief function is primarily for research and Uranium-233 breeding/extraction.

Where did you get Chernobyl nuclear power plants?

Very nice, that's an awesome power complex!  I really like how you incorporated the rail lines too, especially that picture with the mix of passenger and freight rail.

Blows me away every time, great work!

freemunchies: The detail ain't so much the buildings as it the fillers, MMPs and spacing. I have so many filler lots that I can very easily extend the visual footprint of a building without having to actually use the lot editor. Also I can add MMPs to add additional features onto to most lots during gameplay.

Precisely what I meant, this is what makes your cities so great!

Your power plant makes mine look horribly under scale (lol), I like the real feel you got to your city. My only complaint is the lack of traffic on your highways. I imagine the realism plays a big part in that, but always makes me a little sad seeing ghost highways.

Keep it up

Excellent update, I love the detail and thought you put into this. The curved fences along the railway is a nice touch and the agricultural plots are very nice indeed. Great use of RHW and Symphony pieces as well.

Ln_X, every time I visit this thread, I am always amazed at the amount of pictures you show, and the fact that every one is of supreme quality - I almost want to +1 every single one of them! I absolutely love your work.

By the way, I LOVE 5x5 or larger apt blocks too!

    Replies:

LexusInfernus: I really appreciate the atmosphere comment, I go to great lengths to try and visually differentiate different portions of my cities.

MarkusJ: Thanks for the comment; it is good to see you around again. As for the power plants I plop down, I love making huge extensive complexes which incorporate all the buildings.

Belfastsocrates: I'm glad you like the curved fences, right now they are the best-looking filler I could find to fit in with FAR RRW. As for Symphony, I am starting to really like it. In a nutshell it is the poor man's RHW, but it works great for small inner city highways and I'm slowly learning how to integrate it with RHW.

Haljackey: The reason why I call this CJ a 'scrapbook' is so viewers know this CJ is for pictures only, there is no story and it is highly unlikely that I will be posting region pictures as I usually work on separate city tiles. The scrapbook is all about posting raw SC4 pictures. I have only two rules: 1. No photoshop and 2. No lotting. This CJ is about displaying the vast and extensive mods developed by the SC4 community and pushing them to the limit with regards to functionality, aesthetics and realism.

    Benedict: Thanks a lot.

nos.17: Cheers! With this CJ being a scrapbook, I tend to photodump to display every possible nook and cranny of my cities without getting too repetitive.

    News

Just a small news update for today. I have spent the last three days trying to restore the city of San Widge which was going to be my big CBD city complete with sunken highways, a massive RHW interchange, a cathedral plus its grounds, a river running through the middle, NWM, a WTC complex and extensive plazas winding their way through a jungle of skyscrapers. Unfortunately the last save file was corrupted and since I back up my cities far less than I do with my plugins, I could not quickly retrieve San Widge, neither could I isolate what had corrupted the save file.

But fear not, I consider the lost version of San Widge as merely the prototype for a far better version. Now that I know what I want from this city AND how to implement it then this city should be done by this Friday. Already I have rebuilt the key road networks (including the RHW networks and sunken highways) in half the time. The first entry from San Widge -- or a WIP depending on the progress I make -- will be published this Friday.

Right with that out of the way I just want to let you know that the next update concerning Grethor will be posted this Sunday with another one coming out this Tuesday.

    Enjoy the weekend!

    Dear sir/madam/whoever will read this!

    This profile is now defunct.

Computer problems and issues with accessing my Imageshack account meant My SC4 CJ Scrapbook was lost and utterly irretrievable. This setback put me off SC4 for many months.

Apologies for the inconvenience and for the lost pictures.

But that SC4 itch did not go away and it had to be scratched! I have started afresh with a new account here- The British Sausage

The URS is a spiritual successor to the SC4 CJ Scrapbook.

With this update this will be the last time I visit my original Simtropolis account- admin/mods feel free to remove it or do whatever you need to do. I have no further use for the Ln X (BLANKBLANK) account.

With regards, Miles Saunders-Priem aka. Ln X aka. The British Sausage

Wow, another amazing update! I love how you used those industrial tiles to create those back alleys by the highrise apartments. They really help to nail the feel of this being heavy industrial city :) Or the parking tiles to create a backside parkingspace. Reminds me a bit of certain parts in Manchester :)

Also, well done on the contrast with the outer areas of the city.

Come and witness the rise of Bostonia!

Absolutely brilliant. I assume there's some Lot Edited lots in there as well as a rather canny use of pre-existing lots and buildings?

    Incredibly impressive
