Just an idea. You could find these pictures interesting, to make for your future Vancouver projects. Style-wise inspiration. The shape of the buildings would be interesting.

Something is wrong with the base of the right tower but it looks promising. :)

How dare you awake me from my slumber for this schmecksy! >.< Om nom nom.... off to go smoke a cig :D

Hmm, soft shadows aren't extensively visible for this project but from what I can see they are a bit jittery.

These settings should come in handy for any current and future projects. And, of course, it's been

extensively tested and will give you silky smooth results  ;)

Also, more on the filter used for this particular setup. Lanczos is definitely a good filter; however, Mitchell

excels at interpolating transparencies (i.e. glass) and straight edges, which most BATs include. Now, if

you're doing work that require no transparency or have a lot of patterns (i.e. curves, checker, etc.),

definitely use the Lanczos filter. Yet again, keep it up!  :}

Have you tried out the settings yet? This looks great! :D

Hmm, another suggestion if I may. You can get a more realistic effect with the concrete material by lowering

the reflection's glossiness to about 0.25 - 0.5. The glossy samples will depend on what you use. As a general

rule, use 16 samples for 0.6 - 1.0 glossiness, 24 for 0.4 - 0.6, and finally 32 for anything lower than 0.4. In some

cases you may have to use 48 samples for the ultra-low glossy brushed metal materials to get good results.

And, of course don't ever use 0.0 for glossiness as you probably know what that implies (aka dividing a

number by 0). Have a good one, Huston. :}

I have a few questions

What's an approiate height for a base if I were going to make one?

Do you use a plugin for SKU to model the beams for the windows or is that done seperately in 3dsmax?

And is that building in your last pic available yet, I really like it :)

    Now I've checked this link here on how to make transparent bases for lots. But the images disappeared and going by words alone isn't really helping me understand :P I don't really have a clue as to how to tackle this and I've given it a try, but there's still a base on it (just not the one I initially used). Can anyone give me a run through on how to do it? (I'm applying this to seawall lots)

    Also, how do you allow for seawall type lots to be built on water/coastal areas, similar to these nbvc seawalls. I've tried, but have failed :(

    Would really appreciate the help so I can move this project along :)

    Google translator is your best friend.

    Or in some cases your worst enemy. When I was younger, we used to translate with Google translator the posts from Celebrities' facebook page..I remember it was from rapper T.I.'s facebook page he said:

    ''Today is day 11 of the AKOO 12 days Xmas giveaway and we have another dope prize! Who wants the new Beats by Dre HTC phone?! That's right...We're giving 2 lucky fans the new HTC Sensation  phone with Beats by Dre Technology built in!''

    We translated that into French and the English version of the translation would be:

    ''Today is the 11th day of Itunes Xmas giveaway and we have another cocaine prize! Who wants heartbeats again by HTC phone? That's debt ... We're giving 2 lucky A/C units girls the new telephone HTC Sensation with rectal examination heartbeats built in!''

    I mean..we sent someone on the moon in 1969 and in 2015 we're still not able to properly translate a text!

    Anyways Huston, you already know the procedure, use google translate if you don't speak French, the tutorial is clearly written so the translator shouldn't mess the whole thing. If you still have a problem, I'll translate it for you :)
