    ALL OF THE COFFEE

    ...is what's keeping me awake long enough to make this post.

    Anyway, thought I'd just show what I've been working on lately...

    HrXMp3K.jpg

    I've been playing around a lot with the glass and 'proper' reflectivity, although not with perfect results-- mainly with the blinders on the right side, some issues are more visible-- but it's far from final. Aside from adding material's, the primary model is nearly done apart from the backside and obviously nothing is going on with the roof and the ground floor as it is, just some very crude/basic outlining...

    eh...

    Well it's another Toronto building, this time much newer located on the water front on Queens Quay (g.maps link)

    I suppose that'll do until I have some better renders of this building later this week, and perhaps some other smaller BAT's I've been messing around with, focused closely on stores from  around Dundas & Spadina in downtown Toronto.

    Hopefully it wont be another -howeverlongitsbeen- since my last post... :uhm:

    So I dusted off a previous model, added some new clean looking (too clean?) material, and outlined some the base model...

    Just felt rather enthusiastic about it so I thought I'd share

    now if I could only sort those older fellows up there-- they're still laughing at me...

    Do you have any other old models knocking about? If they're as good as this one then feel free to chuck them my way

    Not really, just what I've posted here and I'm still working on each one bits at a time (3 projects in total) I mentioned before some of my older work, but it's all been lost when my last PCs hard-drive broke. I have the sense now to keep what I work on backed up on either an external hard-drive and alternate solid-state drive... go me!

    Also thanks to everyone who's commented, the praise is really keeping me motivated to actually get some BAT'ing done finally.  :}

    It's been too long without finishing a single project...

    I'll add to that then, both these projects look great. More modern midrise offices are always welcomed :)

    Agreed  :ohyes:

    quick update;

    iXq66Tz.jpg

    I've added a few new materials and reworked some of glass, thought the reflections are still... I guess not quite right... but at least it's looking more like the actual building (edit; I fixed the scale as well) I'll keep correcting the issues, but it's keeping me from doing the rest of the model so I'll get on that and just put aside texturing for now - I really want to get the roof done.

    The both buildings are very very good, awesome job ;) .

    The oldest building is gorgeous so far, keep it up. To add some dirty on the wall, use the "composite" tool and add some "noise" texture. ;)

    Lovely old tower you got there! Yes, the textures could be a bit more washed out. If you are using Max you could try basically you add different alpha layers of noise to simulate different washing effects. Also, you can try which simulates dirt and rain spots.

    heeeey things, I have things to share!

    so I saw that it's March now which means next month would have been a year since the last post in this thread, which has nothing to do with anything but I wanted to point that out. But I have very recently started some BAT's so I might as well post them...

    Bay & Gable houses are rather common in Toronto, and I have seen a few lingering requests here or there for them so I had a go and I rather like how it's turning out. Hopefully there will be a set of these underway!

    PtNUF14.jpg

    always needless to say these are quite unfinished, but it should all come together quickly once the base building model is done, then all that needs doing is making variances to it, different brick colours, exterior decorations, etc. and I think this would make a nice set.

    The other thing (yay things) I have is more straight forward...

    t'is a re-creation of a downtown Toronto market that should make for a nice suits-all cities urban supermarket sort of deal.

    UHIGG5i.jpg

    going to just say as well that the other two in-progress BAT's Ive posted previous (that is Commerce Court North & Corus Quay) are still in-progress. Ive had to deal with a lot of PC issues recently but I still have everything I was working on kickin' around, but I might not get working on them again right away... or maybe I will. who knows. iyYSUp6.gif

    cool, next post will be soon!

    Nice work. Toronto Bats are always great to see and since I've been recreating the GTA, I've noticed a severe lack of Bats from Toronto and Ontario on this site.

    thank you everyone who commented!

    I haven't been able to get too much done, I've been sort of busy lately, although that said I'm pretty close to finishing the first set of homes, all the major stuff is done with only a few minor details to add and some texture tweaks here and there - there's also just entirely better textures overall. Unless I've missed something I guess the last thing to decide on is whether or not to render each house separately or together...
