Hmmm, I can't really explain throughly what "Hola!" does, because i'm not such a computer expert.

It is supposed to accelerate the internet by roaming and using nearby Hola! users bandwidth , by that maximizing the usage of the bandwidth for you.

I know that you, A Nonny Moose, are truly a speciallist of things related to computers. So, if it's okay with you, I direct you to their website so you can assess whether it can be the problem: http://hola.org/

P.s. (added a minute later, silly me) I did tried to disable it and it is the source of the problem. The question is why. I suppose that I will turn to their support crew too, apart from you guys here that are willing to check it out.

Well that site has a lot of nerve.  Light blue on white is not my idea of giving a good explanation.  I can't read that without getting a headache.  I am afraid that nothing can increase your physical bandwidth because physics is physics.

 

I have broadband and so won't even consider such a thing.  If their version is less than 1.0 it means it is at best a beta.  I would avoid such things.

Hola doesn't sound very reliable to me. The problem may be due to conflicts with CloudFlare, which is used here as a CDN. This is designed to improve website performance.

 

I'd rather sacrifice internet speed for performance and reliability. So at the end of the day, it's probably best to disable it. But if you want to keep using it, there may be a setting to disable it for specific websites. In which case, you could do this for Simtropolis.

The site is holding up very well today, launch day. It is running faster with ~2800 people online than before the server upgrade several months back when there were ~700 members online.

This isn't really a bug, but I'm curious as to what the time limit between posts is and if it has changed. I'm running into "This reply has not been added as it has been posted too quickly" more frequently.

When going to the Simcity(2013) Problems and Technical Issues forum, I get an error saying:  The topic filter settings you submitted are not valid. Please go back and reset your topic filter settings.  This only happens on that forum.

^ You're not alone, I'm getting the same error as well. Also, when trying to view the in that forum, a "You do not have permission to view this topic." message is displayed.

It therefore must be a global issue.

I'm glad it is for many. However I was unable to log on Friday afternoon or all day Saturday. Most of that time I was not even able to view even one page of the site. When I did get a page to load I was not able to go to any other page. I kept getting "Bad Response From Server"

 

Surprised I got on today but it is very slow and some "Bad Response" errors.

The site is clearly at its peak.  I am getting a few 404s.  Of six open tabs, I am currently looking a one right now.

Whenever I try to go to SimCity (2013) Problems & Technical Issues forum, I get a error message saying

Some other issues I've noticed since the maintenance:

• The favicon has changed to
• When attempting to access the advanced search  feature, the following error is shown:

Fatal error: Call to a member function galleryAdvancedSearchFilters() on a non-object in /home/admin/public_html/forum/admin/applications_addon/ips/gallery/extensions/search/form.php on line 118

 
The issues are persistent using the latest versions of Firefox, Chrome and Internet Explorer 9.

Can't open the comments in Front page articles.  I get

Clearing cache, history and offline data does nothing.  I'd rather not have to delete all my cookies.  I like them with milk.

Still working on the reps ... the one reps table is way too big and needs to be optimized. There's also possibly some strange issues with reps and STEX comments, so still looking into it.

Try experimenting by viewing the site on a different browser. If it works, you may need to clear your cache / temporary internet files. Otherwise, it might be worth temporarily disabling any addons.

CJ Views are being saved, it's just updating off-peak hours at intervals....

Performance issues. Apparently there is no limit on the number that you can set, so people have been setting 1000 or so and this causes some performance hits especially lately. This box may return once we're able to put a fix cap on that number.. so stand by...
