Just opened chat. I got a screen that was nearly 1080 px high. What do you mean 'tiny'?

The following things are not working anymore:

- All quote boxes are gone, you can't make new quote boxes

- Clicking on the "Show replies" in the status updates only brings you to the top of the screen. It does nothing else.

- Clicking on the number above the "like"-button does nothing.

EDIT: Posting seems to be glitchy too.

Also, when trying to create a new entry in the CJ section (and others) the tool box for adjusting text size, color ect is not available - I suppose i could use the basic code, but I'm getting old and I forget everything

Most of the javascript functionality is gone.. Quoting doesn't work. the wysiwyg bar is gone when you want to reply. The topbar is now without submenu's. Ehw.. kinde weird. Before updating maybe it's better to test first .

Thought there was something wrong, glad to hear it's being worked on. It must be quite irritating if this happens after every update.

Sometimes they can initially break more than they fix.

Good thing the Wiki is still functioning as normal though, since it's completely separate software.

It's definitely VERY irritating! The wild thing is though, this time I did a test update on a copy of the site and that went just fine!? When we rolled it out live, suddenly these errors crop up. They are still working on it ... sorry for the busted functionality but we'll get it fixed!

A Nonny Moose: It doesn't matter what browser I've been using - it doesn't work on any browser on any of the PCs I've tested.

 

Is anyone else getting this?

EDIT: Huh, it's back in its normal spot.

 

It seems a few images for the site are missing here and there, too, but that's something that's getting fixed so no worries there

Small bug: the thumbnail pics of new STEX downloads don't show. But when you click on them to load the page, they show up on the page just fine...

I'm not sure if this is the issue you're referring to (the one I bolded and italicized in Mandelsoft's post) but all quotes from all users look like this to me (you can't tell who said what):

 

I suppose I just made a new quote box, though, so I suppose that issue is fixed, but not the part of quote box displaying correctly.

 

However, if you edit the post, and save it, it goes back to displaying correctly.  My post beings at "As for Societies...".  The only thread I've noticed this in thus far is the

 

 

 

EDIT: Also, great job on fixing the "reputation" facet of our profiles; I can now see all the posts I've been repped for!!  Just last week, it wasn't working for me, so excellent job!!

Quotes seem to be working but the editor now just uses a nested bracket.  One of the new features is the backtrack box in the upper right corner of the developed quote box (after posting) that takes you to the quoted item.  Very handy if only part of the item is quoted and you feel you want to see the rest.

 

There is also a new gadget on the tool bar called options.  Might or might not be useful, but it does give one to think.  Also, the text colour box has been improved to allow personally selected other colours.  There are other things to explore, but I haven't really tried them out.

This is certainly not a pressing issue, but I've notice that my profile view count has stopped counting.  It has been at 5,019 for a month or two, although people continue to visit my profile.  I hesitated to post the issue, but seeing as "5,019" is a weird number for profile views to stop counting, I figured it might be a bug.

The new way quotes work now is rather...weird. They disappear with one wrong press of the button, and I find they do not really improve the oversight when you're writing a reply. Is there any chance it could go back to the good old time where a quote was indicated between (quote)(/quote) while you were writing your reply? 

 

Also, why is there a limit on the amount of quote boxes I'm allowed to have? I really like cutting up long posts into smaller bits and respond individually to them. 

 

Ah well, I understand if it can't go back, but I just felt like putting in my 5 cents.

The feature slide show that usually highlights new CJ posts was not showing this morning, but It appears to be back up.  I'm guessing that it may have to do with the new 'Groups' announcement that is currently showing.

For some time I've been wanting to say how much I miss being able to click and see who is voting up a particular post. It added a lot of interest and "life" to the boards in my opinion. I assume it was dropped for bandwidth reasons, not sure, but would like to see it brought back.

Yes, this would be quite interesting to see. But I’m sure there were reasons for it being disabled, unless it was an option in a previous version of the forum software.

I don't imagine bandwidth would be a deciding factor. Think I remember reading that it was related to user privacy issues (though I’m sure Dirk would confirm this). By having an anonymous system, the given reputation isn’t being attached to a specific user -- in a way, it’s only seen as a quantitative figure (i.e. a number).

You see the instant smiley face post tool when you post in the forums but not when you post comments for files download. You can still post smiley face in comments files but the tool you click on is missing. So you have to type the special code for smiley face but I forgot what the code is. Someone please fix that.

I clicked on several new creations (and some old ones, just to be sure it's not limited to new files) and get this: I can only download a file named 'download' with no extension...

As I posted here last week, I still can't download items from the STEX - And didn't get any answer in PM from dirktator, so i'm posting again here.

 

When I click download on any STEX item, the file that is seemingly waiting to be downloaded is called simply 'download' without extension. Weird...

When I try it in different browsers it's not altered by much - only showing the original file name (i.e. Porki props or NAM 30) but again with no extension.

 

I use Windows XP SP3, Google Chrome (latest edition)

 

***I have downloaded a software that improves my internet connection - it's called "Hola!" - Can that be the problem? (it is interfering with proxy and ip)***
