I have a city where trier tower has had no problems growing.  This city is currently set so that only Euro tile set will grow.  I never checked, but is Trier tower set to only grow in euro tileset?

You are right, it is. Its direct competitors would be Graber Corporate Suites and Simon and Frank Associates then. I see at least the first one quite often, the second one more rarely.

 

I'll probably just change this to Euro + Houston and see whether it increases the growth chance.

 

Edit: I checked Trier Tower's growth stage, and it's correct. I also read up on how the game chooses buildings, and I think I understand why it hardly ever grows. Assigning it also to the Houston style should solve that issue, as Trier Tower will then have equal competition and a 1/7 chance when a CO$$$ stage 7 is asked for when that style is up. Theoretically, assigning it to the New York tile set and matching Wren Insurance stats should result in a 1/4 chance when that style has its turn, but that's obviously not a good match.

As per usual superb work! I know it's been brought up once or twice, but have you by chance decided on a texture to replace the pavers, or will you be keeping that? Either way I like it a lot!

That's very innovative, great work, is it your original idea or you got some inspiration somewhere?

Btw, I think you should make that white tiled ground abit less detailed, or a bit less obvious, it's not fitting well in Simcity4

    It's funny that so many people are mentioning the pavers.  I really liked the pavers.  :uhm:

     

    Anyway it's on the STEX

     

     

    Earlier in the month I started a new BAT, an apartment building/shopping plaza in Edmonton, Canada.  It will be released some time in June.  :)

    Jasoncw, I noticed a possible issue with the Sturgeon building.  I downloaded the Maxis Night version.  The Sturgeon building will build okay in my cities.  However, if I rotate the city or change zoom, the Sturgeon building will go 'missing'.  It disappears and only a grey cement foundation can be seen.  Even if I exit out of the city and reload, the building is still missing.  If I click on the 'missing lot', the statistics are still there, but the building is not visible.  I'm not sure if it is something in my configuration, or if there is an issue with the lot.  I've only seen it happen with the Sturgeon building.  Any suggestions?

     

    BTW - love your work.  I've downloaded almost every one of your BATs.  Keep up the excellent work.

    ive experienced the same problem as Prophet42 with the Sturgeon building, but figured it was just a broken lot, so i bulldozed all of them and deleted it in my plugins. Its a nice building, so its a shame.

    You may want to read the posts starting from The reason is explained there. The good news is that the building isn't lost. The actual model is fine. I doN't know if Jason has the time and/or the nerve to make new lots, but if he doesn't, I could send mine to him. I have made new lots, and these sure work.

    It took a long time to export this, and because of how many different industrial jobs modds out there there are a billion lots to make.  It would save a huge amount of time and headache to fix this in the reader.  :(

    This reminds me of the problem with superstar's Key Tower, which could be resolved by RippleJet. I suppose the thread is still over at SC4D somewhere. If it's the same problem, then yes, there is a chance to fix it in the reader.

    I was able to get it faster than I thought.  The fixed version is on the STEX now.  :)

     

    Just delete the old files and replace them with the new files (specifically, the .SC4Model).

     

     

    T Wrecks:  There's a little more that I plan to do with some of the old uploads, so for now I'll leave it as it is and fix it myself later, but I'll keep your offer in mind.  :)

    Just thought I'd chime in having just started using BAT4Max.

     

    This has happened to me as well, but it only appears on smaller buildings in the Zoom 4 and below - larger buildings are fine. For me the bug has appeared irrespective of whether I do any post modding work in SC4 Tool, reader, PIM-X or LE Prop (I use all of those for just about every lot I make). If the bug appears, it appears immediately on export.

     

    The issue is with the LODs that are created by either BAT4Max or the blank LOD export in GMAX: I'm not sure which as I haven't done in-depth investigation, but I have fixed each in the reader using the vertice point adjustment method (it takes only a few moments). Given that the author isn't around to potentially fix the bug, it may be worth collating some info and stickying it in the troubleshooting section?

    ^ It's a bug that stems from the Gmax export. It's unrelated to BAT4Max and can occur in a model that's been exported entirely from Gmax too. It doesn't have anything to do with any particular sort of modding either, the problem's contained within the SC4Model file and is present even before any FSH files get inserted. AFAIK nobody quite knows what causes if but in some cases, some LODs just seem to set of the bug.

    SimCoug:  Yeah the George Lucas issue is on my mind!  The overall feel of each BAT is going to be a little different, like this one the glass is darker which changes the impression.  But otherwise there's not much of a change.  Other BATs might be getting more significant changes, but I plan for them to be tasteful.  Hopefully anyway!!  :P

    gutterclub:  Someday I might completely remake my BSP gmax BATs, but probably not the others.  But considering my track record with "things I'd like to do someday"...  :P

     

     

    No new BAT news but I've finally finished the updated BAT Mega FAQ that's been sitting around almost done for over a year!  Let me know about any corrections or additions.  I finished it up pretty quickly for the sake of getting it done so there might be mistakes.
