Sorry about the crappy placeholder textures...

    8afcd25076c12585d5fd8a4f5f4a9770e84be68c

...but I believe you get the idea.

I'm working with a more "New Urbanistic" texture for the walls, as opposed to something old and deteriorated like I normally do.

    8afcd250763cda7b44fefd90afeed2f950365913

Also keep in mind that, as with everything I do, this is fully functional. Both UDI and automata can use this structure with just a few issues, nothing major.

Wow, this one really makes me excited...

I hope there will be a set of it as a new transportation option for us. That means we still need on-slope and off-slope ramps, for connection to this underground RHW. :)

Please keep up the great work. :thumb:

    Here's a quick update:

    8afcd250762f123ad6586881be2b8acca185d362

Keep in mind that the sign and roundabout textures are interim. The roundabout textures will not exist in the final iteration, as the whole structure will be polpped over a roundabout' they'd be redundant.

    Here's an updated render:

    8afcd250764c7926483fc95157d7fcb31065fcca

    8afcd2507624d9ecc88326ae94a827cf36cadde9

For whatever reason, the truck apron texture ceases to display properly; it should be brick instead of a flat pink/rust texture.

I'm not sure what the problem could be, but my best guess is that there is a lowercase 'm' in your diffuse slot instead of a capital one. If you scroll down to general maps tab, expand that, make sure the diffuse map is checked on. That's just my guess, though, without knowing the rest of the issue

    Oh darn!

Unfortunately I don't think that's the case, as I'm using a Autodesk Concrete texture. The weirdest thing is, this is an exact copy of another map used in several other places on this BAT.

    Also, here's an HD screenshot:

    8afcd2507634c5ba27a911196a00943815fb49f5

Chances are I don't do HD, but it's fun to see anyways.

Thanks for the comment, I'm glad you like what I've done:

If I can find a way to add some sort of bump texture to the truck apron, things would be a lot better. :(

My advice is to just ditch the concrete texture and go to arch and design. Especially since it seems you are having such problems with the concrete.

Besides that, everything looks good except for the strength and glossiness of the reflections on all the red stuff. Both the overpass, which should have much more diffuse reflections, and weak ones at that, and the concrete which shouldn't have noticeable reflections like it does.

Great worth though, a very interesting piece as well to say the least.

The problem with Arch + Design is that models imported from Sketchup typically appear black when Arch + Design is applied. I am not sure why this is, but it certainly isn't any better. However, I believe I have a solution; placing a layer of concrete over the defective one a few millimeters above. If worst comes to worst, I can modify the current one slightly and just label it as thermoplastic. :P As for the overpasses, I'm working on still achieving some of that gloss so it is still noticeable, like on a brand-new overpass, but to a lesser amount like you said. It's a balancing act, so it's only a matter of time until I get what I want.

I think that is probably a problem worth fixing, which it definitely should be. The process for importing sketchup models is like normal, a .obj file right?

No, 3ds Max (2013, at least) can import directly from Sketchup through .skp. Generally, it's in your best interest to avoid .obj sketchup models as faces often become reversed, and therefore textures are inside-out.

may I ask, why is the grey thing in the middle of the roundabout? why not an asphalt texture? (other than that, awesome work)

Because it's made of concrete... That's typically how overpasses are built in North America, that's also the tenth of eleventh time I've been asked this.

    FloorsVarious0017_thumblarge.jpg

In other news, I'll be adding a circular brick texture, a reworked version of the one above, to the truck apron. I believe it will give a more natural red/orange colour to follow through with the other uses of red and orange.

EDIT: Here is a preview of what you can expect: 8afcd250764129661086a01c014d019afe39e24a

    8afcd25076e70dd87ba68577d638580a287a095c

I'll tone down the glare on everything and fix that weird-ass concrete geometry. Other than that, we are about to wrap things up here.

Thank you, and speaking of which...

Now the real question is, how should I handle the median barrier (thanks for reminding me of the issue haljackey )? The current setup is for RHW4, but I could adapt it for use with the new P57 Maxis Highway "reboot".

I don't usually tease, but when I do...

    8afcd250765c8d9b0e2b498c765f9714637ca3f1

...the images are really small. This is the first version, adapted for more urban settings. I will do a few slight alterations to the median, among other things, and make it more rural as an additional BAT.
