Looking for a mod where trees are automatically plopped when making a region. Trying to create a region with a big map and do not want to waste time plopping trees before working on the whole region. If there is one, tell me where to look for. If not, oh well.

I think you are out of luck.  I lay my trees out to reflect the lay of the land, more heavily along water courses.  Trees are water dependent, so manual paining of forests is definitely a worth while exercise.  Slow down and smell the pine tar.

As far as I'm aware, the quickest way to cover a city with trees is:

  • Access the God Mode tools by pressing Ctrl+Alt+SHIFT and clicking the "Sun" icon.
  • Press 1 to zoom fully out.
  • Select the tree brush tool.
  • Hold SHIFT down and left click to spawn trees. The more you focus in one place, the higher the tree density.

EDIT: Silly me, corrected.

Think that should be left click.   Right click (not shifted) is a location jump, otherwise does nothing (shifted).

A gazillion trees will eat your CPU if that is your goal.

I'll have to take a look at some of these, are there any that bring back things from past games into SC4, like arcologies, the other power plants, the nuclear fusion power plant (the hydrogen power plant is not the same thing) microwave plant, hydroelectric plant. A geothermal, matter-anti matter annihilation power plant, and quantum zero-point energy power plants would be cool as well. Or, something which lets you make a solar plant as large as you want- as many solar panels as you'd like

I believe that this is a rather useless thread considering its date/time of origin.

Please speak in english in the forum, it's official and people will understand you better.

You can check Look for Nightlights and Updates there.

But in short, if your game is not original lights in your BATs will never work. If it is original, check out the tutorial I talked above.

Are we still playing this game?

I just stumbled upon my old CD/DVD and installed it.

I want to thank everybody for this thread. It's helped me to remember some of the old things.

As part of our ongoing reorganization, this topic has been unpinned. You can still post in it and the master list is the Index of Useful SC4 Resources - Look Here First thread.

There is also a farming job x50 multiplier.

What I don't understand is the CAM or how to delete the damn thing. I keep getting a massive and unrealistic demand for everthing. My advice is download one mod. learn to use it and learn what it does b4 you download a bunch of stuff and become overwhelmed. saving to buy the BAT digital copies simotropolis offers.

There should have been an Uninstaller for CAM 2.1 installed at the same time as the mod. If not, then your original files should have been moved to Documents\SimCity 4\Original SimCity Files and can be manually restored by moving them to your SC4 game install path, whatever that may be. If you manually installed CAM 2.1, then only you would know where those backup files may be. If all else fails, there is always the option of a fresh install of the game, to set everything as it was.

I know that CAM is not for everyone, but it does not create any demand whatsoever, if it's properly installed. It does allow the range of demand that can be shown and processed each month to go much higher than vanilla SC4's 6000, based on the Workforce & Census Drives of your city/region. This can be a shock at first, for sure. There are also multiple versions of playstyles included with CAM 2.1, which control the growth stages of your regions. So if you feel like things are moving too fast, you may want to try a different playstyle before uninstalling it completely.

I fixed both issues! I had added a mod called "Super Demand Ordinance Mod" lol. I was also able to remove CAM. I'm taking everything slow. Still learning NAM, building like a noob and saving to get those digital copy for $50 dollars. I'd like to one day, build my own mods; preferably something industrial. I like PEGs mods but some are just for decoration not actually workable. I'm from Houston and we have a huge industrial shipyards here which is what I want to base my future work on. Thank you for all your help. I have tons of stuff to learn.

You may want to take a look at some of fukuda's work on the STEX. He made some great industrial lots.

If you're going to buy a digital copy of the game, avoid Origin, as their version is not fully updated. GOG often has SC4 on sale, so keep an eye on it. If we tag @Cyclone Boom, he may even have a link to help with that.

Indeed I do, and here it is:

It looks like the only way to avoid the dust cloud when plopping would be to edit the LotConfigPropertyDoConstruction (0xe99b068d) setting it to 0x01 in the LotConfig Exemplar and the Construction Time (0x499afa38) in the Building exemplar. Prolly setting this latter to either 0 or 1 sim days. But, this would have to be done for every single building for which the dust cloud is to be removed. (That'd be a lot of work.) Ofc, this is just speculation atm and would need to be tested.

Edit: CB tested this while I was getting ready for work. It does not eliminate the plop dust cloud. *:(

And water plops. Yes, water makes dust in the SIM world.

Thank you all 4 all your advice; I already have this game which I bought years ago through Steam. I purchased the SimCity 2013 and its expansion "cities of tomorrow" for the holidays through Orion but got bored after a few day specially since multiplayer doesn't work. Cities skylines cost far too much for all the extensions and school takes all my money.  I'm waiting to till March to purchase the digital copies of those four discs that are offered on this site. I do like SimCity 4, there is just alot of content on this site and Id like to eventually add my first lot which will be the NASA's Houston facility.  I will check out "fukuda's" content tomorrow. I'm currently testing "TWrecks" IRM mods which it looks awesome and works well with Torocas industry quadrupler. Course while I was checking out Twreck's content, I stumbled upon "Kingofsimcity's" content and that is extensive. Lots of material overlap with eachother and btw dependencies, textures, pros and god knows what, once gets easily overwhelmed.
