Is that a joke?

This interchange was a recent project of mine in a tile that is just north of my main CBD. The tunnel was built to support traffic to another adjacent tile which provides a lot of industrial jobs without significantly affecting the nearby HSR and the suburb's residents who are some of the region's elite.

However, a new international airport is planned for construction to the west, which will require significant roadworks to increase west-bound capacity--and a full interchange. Several apartment buildings to the north are scheduled for destruction.

And now, after years of planning and construction, the final interchange is finished.

An alternative proposal was for a T-interchange, but due to the tunnel entrance, it was decided to go with a trumpet interchange. Even the trumpet interchange was a tight fit and required judicious use of MHW and Project Symphony for the tunnel entrance and on-ramps.

Edit: I had an error saving and it looks like I've lost the changes. :(

Edit 2: Never mind. I recovered the changes. Looks like the Windows update messed with my registry settings and changed my SimCity 4 directory.

I often use RHW-2 instead of 4 or 6 lane highways because they take up less space and are alot more common to see around where i live. Usually posted at 55 MPH, they are a good 'in between' choice if a 4 lane highway is not needed, but you need to move alot of traffic  at high speed with controlled access.

Nice to see some RHW-2. Looks very good and realistic! Sometimes we tend to go too far with the massive highways and interchanges ... :-)

I made this one a while back with NAM 34, I've always liked how relatively compact it is. However, it still uses deprecated height transitions, so I'll have to rebuild it. I'm posting it here before it gets destroyed.

Don't mind the city, I'm in the process of replacing Maxis stuff everywhere.

My first parclo! This is on the east end of Oakview, a largely residential suburb to the east of the CBD, Riverside.

Zoom out for context. You'll notice a dumbbell interchange just south.

I would love suggestions on how to improve this, particularly since it's my first parclo. I wanted to keep the dumbbell interchange since it is also a major thoroughfare, but unfortunately I also have quite a bit of weaving.

Any suggestions of making this one better is welcome. *:D This particular one took the longest and a lot of trial and error. I am satisfied with most of it beside the large outer curved ramps that I had to compromise. Sorry for the grid, just a habit.

@ikilluasap1

Based on your design I'd like to propose a quick fix:

Sometimes it saves me time, sometimes I end up screwing up somewhere along the line and have to start over again.

Since I've been unable to get the last two NAM updates installed, I only have 2 level heights for on/off ramp bridges so I had to come up with a way to do a complete interchange outside of the cloverleaf and diamond interchanges.  I've just seen one from Haljackey I'm gonna try for a 'T' intersection that I liked and would work with what I have.  I'm still running XP on my pc that I play the game on.

Just so happens that I downloaded the image Haljackey.  This one....don't know why I didn't think of this myself.  I've been drawing maps since I was a boy after getting my first Rand McNally Road Atlas at age 8 in 1972.  I studied those maps, page after page, especially the street maps for years and still buy them today.  This is why I love SC4 and NAM.  I can draw my maps with SC4 and see what my city looks visually.

EDIT:  And here's my first try at one of those T-Inter-changes...
