You could do a trumpet as suggested above... Or instead of going under the highway, the zigzag slip could go over it, over the slip and merge to the outside? End up with something more like this?

BUT LOOK AT THOSE SUBURBS!!!! Oh, that's right, this is a highway interchange thread. I think I'll jump on what Compdude is saying, since you have a highway x highway interchange the other avenue interchange might not even be necessary if traffic can be directed onto the other highway. Also, my input on the interchange itself is to use width transitions for acceleration/deceleration lanes, for a traffic to enter/exit highways in a quicker, safer way. PS is fine for mainlines, but when you enter an interchange, it's a good idea to convert to RHW (since it has much more functionality). This is a very secluded, suburban town from what I'm seeing, so you actually don't need many exits on your highway... because weaving looks REALLY, REALLY bad. As someone who likes to build urban highways with RHW-10S (and hopefully Ultra-Wide RHW when the day comes), I normally don't build more than 5 exits within a large city tile (which is only about 2.5 miles long, which means that exits are about 1/2 mile apart) unless I have the highway curve around or something like that. If you feel you must have both junctions, you could reduce the weaving a lot by turning the avenue junction into a parclo with both on and off ramps on the top side.

Stunning, especially love the Ferris Wheel. Not sure about the bridge though, looks a bit out of place to my eyes. Realistically, it'd be built at as narrow and/or shallow a crossing point as practical, whereas it currently seems to be the widest possible spot. It might look better a few tiles to the left, or if the south bank is reclaimed a bit to shrink the gap? Also loving the railway line top left. Neatly tucked away from the highway south of it.

Pretty sure those are part of the NAM nowadays although the OP is 8 years old. The NAM is a huge transport mod, effectively overhauling the highway network amongst other things. Might even be easier to think of it as an expansion pack... It's available on this very website's STEX

I pity the poor sims that have to make the sharp turn North -> East, but very nicely done

Placing the onramp after the offramp is the norm in real life because that way, vehicles that leave and those that enter the speedway don't get into each others way like they do if it's the other way around. Those that get on the speedway in your case have very little time to clear the outer lane for traffic that wants to get off. And I don't know, but it's not really one interchange but five individual ones, wouldn't you say? They all give full access on their own, they're just spread out. It looks large and very dense now but I think when there's development around it it's gonna fit well. Point well made. It never dawned on me that entrances and exits so close to each other would spell accidents and disastrous bottle necks. As you can see I have increased the distance between on and off ramps. What type of road is that between the slip ramps and the avenue? Traffic is going one way off or on the highway, so only half of the capacity will be used if that's two way? Also, sharp corners... Slamming on the brakes as you pull off a motorway, what about cars behind you? They're breaking ON the motorway. You'd struggle to get above 20mph on a corner like those. Flip side, getting onto the highway, less space to get up to speed. Wider curves, keep the momentum, better closing speeds.

Here take a look see Saw you the first time, no need to bump after just 4 hours... I'm not as experienced as some of the people in this thread by far, but I can't see an easy way around that without threading the left side around with the ramp, through the residential area and rejoining the mainline at the underpass. Right side would need to kinda do a double S to get over the highway at the interchange, although you might get away with a transition to ground to get under the highway. Would look a bit rollercoaster-esque though, and you don't look like you have space for the transitions as it is anyway. You'd prob be better off with a more traditional collector/distributor setup, with those ramps going inside the on and off slips rather than outside them. Makes it easier to get across as the slips curve away.

Yup, and I'm not sure yet if I'm not gonna put an at grade junction on the left side as well and have a development off it. The flyover bridge is also a tile or two longer than need be by design to allow for future widening of the highway. This isn't going to stay rural.

Trivia: average speed on the 'BP' is 38 kmph. That's really slow, I could probably get a notably higher average speed driving through the main roads in my tiny hometown Wikipedia says 43. But that's still crazy. French Wikipedia said 38 Well, it's the substandard ring road of Paris (a city with a metro population of 10 million), with 250.000 vehicles using it every day, so it's no surprise traffic is so slow. Substandard ring road? London's equivalent to the BP are the A406 and A205 North & South Circulars. I'll let you look up the A205... Paris's A86 seems to be equivalent to London's M25. And to try and nudge us back on topic, I'm fairly new to RHW so still dabbling and learning. An early attempt at a trumpet for an avenue terminating at a highway.

I'm between Reform and Algebra on this one. I play more than one tile at once and never really "finish" a tile.

The main lines seem to get a bit lost in the lower junction, but otherwise skillfully done
