I thought about this, and am still thinking about it because though I've thought about this, I still have more thinking to do as to stop thinking about it would mean not to think.

@kempis It really looks good! Nice work with the mmps and the bike path working its way around

Looks pretty nice with all the MMPs! However, I would try and get rid of the cliff that starts immediately at the edge of the river underwater. Most rivers don't have that.

I had a dull parking lot at the waterfront across the street from the shopping centre. I replaced the parking lot with a vibrant pedestrian area featuring waterfront cafés.

Sounds like a much better choice! The lot of that shopping centre is pretty barren, too. Can you plop MMPs there, or would the lot need to be edited?

I would have to edit the lot with props, something I've been neglecting to do for a while now. But I'll get there eventually!

Anakena Beach, Easter Island

Who wouldn't wanna do a little surfing here surrounded by Moais, palm trees and wild horses? Check out some of the history of Easter Island along with my other South Pacific mosaic here ;)

Mind if I ask what water mod you're using?  This is amazing!

@MushyMushy What program and effect did you use? I'm specifically interested in how you were able to make all the buildings and textures look so much clearer and sharper. The difference between the original and the modified image is like the difference between an HD & SD rendering :O

@philforhockey51 Welcome back, hope you got some good R&R.

@takemethere - I didn't use anything special - just an ancient version of Photoshop (the current edition of GIMP is probably many times more powerful). As for what I did, I'll list the things I did to the original content of the image (not including adding the cars and all that). I didn't really do anything to specifically make the buildings look sharper, but maybe the other effects I did made them look sharper.

  • Used sponge tool (on desaturate) to turn the blue shadows black.
  • Used burn tool to add in the big deep shadows. This took a while; I also used it on the trees to give them more definition since seas of MMPs can look odd due to no shadows really showing through.
  • Other than that the only thing I did to a building was I used the sponge tool (on saturate) to make the big building on the right side of the picture more orange.

Wow, lovely evening atmosphere! I imagine they're already looking for well-dried driftwood to start a camp fire...

Btw, is that beach texture part of the terrain mod? It looks awesome!

Ha, I was also thinking of that when those sims started to look for something to start a camp fire. I considered it a part of the theme of the picture.

Hmmm, I do believe that Pyrenean's Terrain Mod came with that beach texture, which is a major plus for me.
