Hey,

I'm from the International Simlympic Committee (The organisation in charge of running the Simlympics, a little SC4 sports event you may have heard of). The Simlympics began in 2006 and we've decided it's time we diversify a little bit - a Winter Simlympics!

However, we want to do it perfectly and to do that requires winter BATs. We're currently working on a Winter Simlympic BAT pack and we need help! There aren't many winter sports venues available for SimCity.

The Winter Simlympic BAT pack is a vast project, involving many different BATers. Consequently, there are many different BATs required - ranging from very big (E.g stadiums), to the very small (E.g gates for skiing). With the Winter Olympics in Vancouver coming up in 2010, it's a time BAT pack.  Here are some examples of venues:

We would greatly appreciate all the help we can get  to help us make our dream of a Winter Simlympics a reality by contributing towards the Winter Simlympic BAT pack. All Irish people will most likely go mad over this, it really is a magnificent stadium and has multiple uses.  It very stylish and will be a hit with people who like nice stadiums.  The Bernabeu is in it so Croke Park should be too

This is the Kansas City Star printing plant in Kansas City Mo. It is here that the newspaper "The Kansas City Star" is printed. Not only that it is a very modern glass building.

Well I think this is a modern building and it would be appreciated by those of us who live around KS and MO. Also it adds realism to the industrial and comercial areas in simcity4. And its a really cool and modern building!!

 How about this?

It is the Performing Arts Center in my hometown. it is a beaufitul building that attracts people fom the entire Midwest to see Broadway plays, like "Rent", "Merry Poppins" and "The Lion King", just to name a few. It is beautiful, therefore it may be a reward alternitive to the Maxis Opera House or a Park building.

The ST community would benefit from this because we don't see many PAC or art centers and it would spice up a city's culture and the hapiness of the Sims.

New Traffic Signals

 

Descriptions:

As you can see I have requested some new traffic signals. I couldn't get very many good pictures so I used two different pictures. These lights could be used for any network (Road, street, One-way, avenue, possible NWM stuff). Basicly the arm of the light extends about the length of a lane into the intersection. If created I think the post would look nice if they were black (if possible, if not than grey is fine) . The light on top isn't necessary nor are the extra signs on the light.

 

These particular lights are located in Washington, D.C. You can look for them on Google Maps, not all the lights look like that so I would recommend checking out the intersection of M Street and Route 50 (You might have to turn a bit to see the light I am refering to) For reference you can also look at a nicer version of the lights on Canal St. and Capital St.

Benefits:

There could potentially be a lot of benefits from the creation of new traffic signals. To name a few... 

1. More variety and choice of signals, can give cities more character.
2. For the first time in a while there will be some new plugins for road traffic.
3. I am not sure when or if this is coming out, but if NAM and/or NWM is released soon, these new lights will go great with that.
4. Depending on the textures used the new lights can give a whole different appeal to a city.

I am sure there are tons more. Many will agree that new traffic signals would be a great addition to the game and may even inspire future projects.

I am requesting that the Former Headquaters for Lehman Brothers bank be batted. It is a very nice, stylish building which would add a lot to a city.

You can search for any pictures, there are tons of them. Wikipedia has a few as well.

Lehman Brothers being built will add a larger variety of skyscrapers to the game and would look great in a downtown area.

I know that this is a Maxis default landmark, however, I've seen many of the more talented BATers remake other Maxis landmarks, and the resulting BATs usually go above and beyond anything that came packaged w/the game (such as the Bank of China re-makes).  I'm hoping that someone will take up the challenge to re-make one of the best looking, tallest buildings on the US west coast.  Additionally, the Maxis version looks way smaller (and shorter) than it should (it looks more like a 45 story/500 footer, rather than a 76 story/937 foot building).

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community:

A fairly decent medium-sized stadium complex that can serve as both types of football (international/soccer and American) in Seattle. Home to one of the most successful franchises in Major League Soccer history, the Sounders FC, the stadium boasts sell-out games and loud crowds, which have contributed to more than 90 false start penalties during Seahawks games. An upper and lower bowl combine for a capacity of upwards of 30,000 for regular soccer games and 67,000 for football and special soccer events. Another NFL stadium and MLS stadium is needed on the STEX, as well as the fact that Seattle is one of the major cities not covered with many BATS for SC4. This would be an interesting project and will yield great results, similar to that of the Safeco Field project (also a Seattle stadium).

Public Housing Highrises / South Bronx

Well, to get rid of the grid this would be another fine addition to the public housing projects (and the models do already

exist... ) . I think it makes every city drift away from the original urban layouts, as these are anything but conform to the game.

Moreover, I could well incoporate these for personal use in my CJ 'The different looks of NYC' - if somebody would like to alter marczar's models and fabricate these- just PM me for LOT measures.

A few Luxury sedans that are all ofered here in the good ol' USA. There breands are Infiniti and Acura (mostly Infiniti, though).

Why these would be beneficial to the community:

There is a lack of luxury sedans and, well, full size sedans in general offered on the STEX, and by making these the diversity of choices will be greater. These are but a few of the cars that should be made for the community. Maybe more Mazda's and Mitsubishi's and more hyundai's and Lexus' would be nice to see.

Hello, I would like to request Two WTC(200 Greenwich St) in New York (i know there is a construction version but it has been locked for months and it was put on here early '08) and the Anadarko Tower in The Woodlands, TX (close to my hometown of Montgomery,TX)....

Why these would be beneficial to the community: There is a big lack of Med-to high-rises on the STEX. And the building is very Nice and would be of a challenge to many.

Requesting a BAT of the proposed, and later cancelled ,Nakheel Tower in Dubai. The proposed tower was going to be 1,400 m (4,600 feet) tall, thus easily the tallest building in the world.

This would be beneficial to the community of skyscraper enthusiasts, (by the sheer awesomeness of the building itself) and also very useful in the game as such, as there is a harbor in the bottom of the building.

Oktoberfest: I think nycc06 has that on his list of things to do  

As far as I know all of those shiny buildings are being made as part of a WTC project by nycc06 and kellydale2003.  You can read about them here as and when they appear no doubt.  Its an interesting project.
