When I looked for swimming pools, municipal, sports centres, I found that there were only a few BAT (simgoober !) of open pools. A lot of small swimming pools for villas. And often the pools are associated with the main building. It would be very interesting to have some ordinary pools (25m), Olympic pool (50x25m), diving boards (variable height), big round/square/bean pool... and other oddities for hotel and/or leisure centre with their small maintenance/accommodation building and cabins for the public. I would be willing to do the Lottting, modding. Thank you!

What is good when you have nothing to say is that you can always pretend to listen. Anyway it does not prevent to think!

Something I *might* look at creating myself, but if anyone else wants to tackle this one; Teufelsberg in Berlin. A former Cold War listening post, now abandoned and sort of a mural museum:

Hello everyone,

On Sketchup someone has created a model of Gloucester cathedral (my home). Would someone be able to turn this model into a SimCity building?

I don't have the BAT and it seems that everything is out of date now for me to catch up on how all of this works.

I would be very grateful if someone was able to.

hello, did any of the Batters/Modders out there ever made the Wayne Enterprise building from Batman? It's a beautiful looking building. Its real life counterpart is the Chicago Board of Trade building located on: 141 W Jackson Blvd, Chicago, IL 60604, United States

did any transportation batter ever made a model for the Mallard? the world's fastest steam engine? it's one hell of a sexy looking train, it's a shame that we don't make trains look like this anymore. I would love to see this locomotive resurrected in SimCity 4. https://www.railwaymuseum.org.uk/whats-on/mallard-worlds-fastest-steam-locomotive

To me the most spectacular buildings these days in germany ist the so called "Esslingen Quarter". Esslingen is a city close to Stuttgart. The use of different energy technologies like geothermal energy and solar pannels the whole quarter isn't only co2 free but underground they have also a hydrogen plant which turn all daily energy overhead into hydrogen which can be used in winter for heating. But still there is an overhead of 400 liters of hydrogen each day. So the vision is to have houses providing even fuel for the cars of the residents in the future.

With Mr. Putin next door - please understand - I want to have more of these!

 Thank you.

It looks like a lighthouse and it's not exactly what you'd call 'earthquake proof'. I would like to present the Ryōunkaku, Japan's first skyscraper.

Opened in 1890 it soon became the most popular attraction in Tokyo and was used to showcase new technologies. That is, until the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923 when part of it collapsed.

360px-Jintan_12kai_cropped.jpg

Wikimedia Commons has several contemporary photographs and postcards of the tower and this set of photos of an architectural model might also prove useful.

I'd like to kindly ask if any BATter could possibly be willing to construct some Spanish colonial architecture style buildings. There really is a gap in this area and it would be super if anyone could make some of these.

Here's a link to some references:

I assume you're already familiar with Romualdillo's set over on SC4D? If not, it's well worth checking out. The buildings only fit a certain type of mid-density R$ environment, but it's a particularly impressive set.

Romualdillo's houses are from much after, about 1850-1920s, but they are still really beautiful and would be ideal to blend older and newer styles.

For Spanish colonial buildings, the best options would be @Wallibuk's collections and some LBT buildings by @debussyman, @tcx, @Berethor07 and others, that @Edvarz might have relotted. Some rural Eastern European buildings on the SimCity Polska collection might also blend with Spanish colonial, but overall is a poorly covered segment.

G'day all!

Here's another one:

Stadium Australia.

The first pic is the stadium in Sydney 2000 Olympics configuration. This is before the Sydney Olympics when they had rugby league matches on the temporary turf.

The second one is in post-Olympic configuration (how it stands today). It used to be named ANZ Stadium for a few years before they reverted the name of the stadium back. It's now used for the rugby league, especially for the State of Origin and the finals / Grand Final.

Request: Neighborhood Gateways

Description: Gateway arches to denote ethnic/cultural neighborhoods

Why it would be beneficial: While SimCity 4 is a great game, one of its weaknesses is its lack of sense of place. It can be hard to designate culturally unique neighborhoods in the game. In real life, cities have distinct community areas that cater to people of specific demographics. One well-known example of this is how many large cities have a Chinatown neighborhood. Fortunately for us, SimCity has a lot of Chinatown-themed objects, such as this Chinatown Gate:

My idea is to expand on this concept to create arches for other ethnic/cultural communities to better distinguish them in the game. One real-world example of this is the gateway to Chicago's Little Village neighborhood:

6123c7a949974_LittleVillageGateway.jpg.c98847638262a304cd9c6b0277123d58.jpg

This is Chicago's primary Mexican neighborhood, and the arch helps to give Little Village its sense of identity. I'd love to see an arch like this in SimCity 4 to distinguish my city's Mexican neighborhood as well.

Humboldt-Park-Puerto-Rican-Promenade.jpg.7e2fcfe567e990e41fae74c3180869d5.jpg

Humboldt Park, the city's Puerto Rican neighborhood, also has an archway depicting the Puerto Rican flag.

Chicago_Union_Stockyard_Gate.jpg.52243094c35848e0c7bbcac2d64bb83a.jpg

A third example is the Chicago Union Stockyards Gate, which was the entryway to Chicago's infamous Stockyards. While the real-world gateway was used for a meatpacking district, this wouldn't look out of place as a gateway to a private upscale community.

Other ideas for cultural neighborhood arches include:

German

LGBT

Black

Indian

Korean

Industrial Corridor

Financial District

I made this request a year ago, but I wanted to "bump" it in case there is any renewed interest in the idea. :)

school-bus-stop-isometric-d-icon-city-pu

Request: Rural School Bus Stop (Acting as a School)

Description: Even in small cities, sometimes the idea that there would be even a single small school is a stretch of realism today.  What I am requesting would be a pretty basic 1x1 lot that would appear like a normal bus stop, perhaps with some extra shelters for bad weather.  The sim-purpose would be a centralized place for the rural residence to drop their kids to catch the early morning bus ride to the schools in the next town over.

Technically, the lot would serve as an education coverage for at least a small sized city, with a minimal student capacity (a school bus load or 2?  75-150 students?)

Why it would be beneficial:  The need to provide education coverage can be addressed while not overly taxing extremely small, or perhaps poor communities where even a small school is overkill in terms of size and cost.  The small size would allow for the lot to be discretely planted almost anywhere and not seem out of place.

Further Requests in this line of Thinking: While education is the most glaring service to supply to small cities in terms of cost/size, they are not the only ones that could be addressed in this manner.  In many rural areas with limited medical capacity, ambulances are often strategically placed in purpose made lots or signed "parking" on public lots so they can respond quickly to remote areas.  a 1x1 lot with an ambulance parked on it with health coverage could manage this.

This could also be done with Police...call it a "speed trap" with a cop car sitting in a lot along a highway through the city.

Ultimately, I could see why some would see these as a cheat...but when the goal is to not simulate a town growing to some size to require the full services of school buildings or police stations, or even a clinic, but having those services provided in some degree in a much smaller capacity, only makes sense.

Either this, or someone can create the "Online Learning" Ordinance and we can get rid of education coverage needs that way. *:thumb:

Nickelodeon Studios, Orlando, Florida.

I'll Love to see this childhood memory on SimCity 4 and Cities Skylines.

Nickelodeon Studios was a theme park and production studio located at Universal Studios, Orlando, Florida. It was operated from June 7, 1990, to April 30, 2005, when it was closed permanently. The studio was well known in the Nickelodeon community and served a special place in their hearts.

Hi, I'm working on a Gotham City project for SC4 and can't find any Gothic-style buildings (not just cathedrals), particularly with gargoyles. I don't know how hard it is to do that, because I don't have the software or even know-how on using the BAT.

I would really like to see some Tim Burton-inspired buildings like in the 1989 Batman film. Can anyone help point me in the right direction or better yet, design something like that for download? I plan on learning how to use the "BAT"... tool to create my own Gotham stuff one day, but I know there are some veterans on Simtropolis that'd do it way better than I ever could. Any replies/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Just a little hint- repeating the request over and over probably wont get you very far.

Check out some of the stuff on these sites- https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=361.0

especially SOMY. They tend to make more of the over-the-top architecture. As for here, take a look at the SimMars project. And I think they have the Arkham Hospital(sorry, I think that's right, I don't follow the Batman mythology) and the Bat signal light was just released recently. If you're trying to get more of a comic book look, stick with BATs made before the NightNDay mod came along, say about pre-2008. You might be able to use things from the Paris sets by JENX, as they have architectural flourishes that might blend into Gotham.
