I have also thought about that too, it maybe possible to do, but we need someone that can make the model and mod it. :)

Royal Palace Amsterdam

Description

The Royal Palace in Amsterdam (Dutch: Koninklijk Paleis Amsterdam or Paleis op de Dam) is one of three palaces in the Netherlands which is at the disposal of Queen Beatrix by Act of Parliament. The palace was built as city hall during the Dutch Golden Age in the seventeenth century. The building became the royal palace of king Louis Napoleon and later of the Dutch Royal House. It is situated in the west side of Dam Square in the centre of Amsterdam, opposite the War Memorial and next to the Nieuwe Kerk.

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community:

A beautiful old Dutch building like this cant be missed in your Europe/Dutch cities.

This will give your cities a better authentic feel.

CNN Center

800px-Atlanta-cnn-center-aerial.jpg

Description:

With other CNN locations across the country and world, this is the hub and mecca of CNN in Atlanta, Georgia.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CNN_Center

http://www.turner.com/about/tour_cnn_center.html

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community:

The lack of a major news organization gracing the STEX is unbearable. Sims would love CNN in their community instead of just having local stations.

I would expect the downloads for this building would be through the roof (if done correctly).

It would also make a great building for a suburb community or a absolutely gorgeous building for a downtown area.

NWM Construction Lots

Construction lots that reflect some of the constant construction efforts that plague downtown areas.

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community: Would add more life and realism to the streets of our sim-metropoli. I do understand there is already a lot from LBT (I believe), but I would think that many of us, including myself, would request more variety. Also, this would be a somewhat simple Lot Editor fix.

High/Midrise W2W

Description:

Multi-dozen story W2Ws, very tight around the front and sides, maybe allowing room for alleys. One way to do this is to create pedestals and then have a variety of towers. Also, there would be middle-class shops and restaurants, such as Starbucks, Men's Warehouse, Radioshack, and other cafes on street-level. Got inspired to request this after a recent day trip into Chicago.

Links to informational websites (reccommended). http://fromthegutter.org/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/downtownchicagoilatnight.jpg http://maps.google.com/?ll=41.878221,-87.627809&spn=0.001142,0.002846&z=19&layer=c&cbll=41.878232,-87.62736&panoid=N_QZK3PFXnBa0wmAlnCx4w&cbp=12,249.4,,0,-23.58 http://maps.google.com/?ll=41.879902,-87.627723&spn=0.001142,0.002846&z=19&layer=c&cbll=41.880096,-87.627722&panoid=Jqc0_xkRmysHKrRn0y_okQ&cbp=12,301.12,,0,-21.72

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community:

This would give north American-style cities the proper mid-rises they need, both with the height, the realism, and the tightness that an urban setting requires. Chicago and New York are prime examples of this trend, and any player who is styling their cities after these two power-cities would greatly appreciate the effort.

More! Sunken Lots (w/Stairs)

Description:

A)More sunken plazas (open-air) with stairs that lead up to street level and to buildings. Could be modular, to provide for custom plazas and larger ones than a fixed lot would allow. Ex. include the sunken plazas beneath Chase Tower (chicago) and Rockefeller Center (NYC).

B)Sunken Urban Lots- Lots that portray specific urban scenes, such as construction sites, parking lots, sunken abandoned lots that reveal under-building walkways, concrete retaining walls, and underground roads. (eye candy of course)

Links to informational websites (reccommended).

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community: (Bold)

Write a short explanation of why you think this would be good for the game or for the community. Here you make your case for why a BATer should BAT your request. (required)

Pretty sure there's already one of these. Search deadwoods's stuff on the STEX, it'll be there a few pages in.

1st of all; Thanks you very much to all lot and bat editors to make this game much better. I can know how hard is to develop new buildings and features. I tried a little bit to make a lot, but I need more time and experience.

I have been thinking for a something especially:

Ploppabe Sims on beach

Description:

Ploppable sims, like the actually flora and rocks that can be put on the coasts to make it more realist.

In real life, beaches are really crowded, and this bat should have a few sims taking a sunbath, rudimentary sun-umbrellas and should be water ploppable in order to simulate sims swimming.

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community:

The game has a beach as a park effect, but some players doesn't use it to recreate their beaches. Some use different kinds of ploppable sands and rocks. I think that a beach crowded of sims could be great to recreate real cities or to use in CJ. Also tu use it in small beaches and choose if the player wants a beach crowded or not.

I have been using some lots made especially for beaches and testing them. But the idea is to put sims on the beach like We put rocks or trees. Any idea? What dou you think?

Finally sorry for my English and see you soon.

I have also been looking for something like this lately. I think a cool feature would be to include the click-to-increase density ability.

Also, it'd be neat to include this in a set of uploads, with others featuring different scenes, such as parade, protest, rave, etc.

Wembley Stadium

Wembley-Stadium-in-UK_Aerial-view_5495.jpg

image-1-for-england-world-cup-bid-2018-gallery-982173771.jpg

Description:

For a few years I've been looking for Wembley stadium on here and I'm surprised that no one has made it yet. It an iconic stadium and London landmark which boasts the worlds largest single standing roof structure which can be seen from miles around. As well as this it is the the most expensive stadium ever built and is of great architectural interest and importance.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wembley_Stadium

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community:

It is a remarkable stadium and the home of football (soccer) and I believe it will be a great addition to any city

Government Building: Ministry of Manpower

Example (image link): http://static.panoramio.com/photos/large/22398942.jpg

(In the Image: Building of the Ministry of Manpower in Singapore)

Description:

"The mission of the Ministry of Manpower is to achieve a globally competitive workforce and great workplace, for a cohesive society and a secure economic future for all Sims"

Among the different departments & divisions, the MoM has:

  • National Human Resources Division
  • Corporate Planning Department
  • Manpower Management Division
  • Manpower Research and Statistics Department

So in the game basically, such building - when queried, would return some useful statistics, such as total number of Residents / Residents Cap (R$, R$$ & R$$$), Commercial / Commercial Cap & Industrial / Industrial Cap, both city-wide and region-wide (currently in the budget menu, only the income is shown, but not the actual number of sims in each category).

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community:

I thought that such information could be initially queried in the City Hall, since it mentions that City Hall improves the administration of the city, but the City Hall could actually act as a pre-requisite for such a building - and maybe other Ministry Buildings (say Health & Education, Transportation, etc. that could also provide info on the different existing facilities in the city).

Anyways, the information provided regarding the population can be quite useful to determine the different ratios for each sim type, and act accordingly towards what we want to achieve (e.g. push more towards R$$ or R$$$, or IHT, etc.), not to mention identifying potential problems in a certain category when the gap between the actual number of sim of a certain type and the cap for that particular type becomes huge (e.g. if Number of R$ << Cap of R$, it means that there is potentially lots of abandoned places that can be difficult to spot in huge cities, etc.)

Thought such a building can be useful. :)Let me know if it can be done, and thanks in advance!Cheers,GT74

Here is examples of schools that I am talking about, mostly suburban and two are rural locales.

http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=30.636527,-87.165592&spn=0.004348,0.010568&t=h&z=17 The one on the left is a middle school, the one on the right is an intermediate.

http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=30.613437,-87.152857&spn=0.002174,0.005284&t=h&z=18 The perfect example of an expanding High School the school has added appx. 4 new buildings in the last decade to handle its almost 2,000 students.

http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=30.89352,-87.793481&spn=0.002168,0.005284&t=h&z=18 Just a smaller school only about 1,300 students attend, but I want it for my cities.

http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=31.006304,-87.486658&spn=0.002166,0.005284&t=h&z=18 A rural school only about 600-700 students no recent add-ons, but the Solar Building (located on the left at the top at the school) and the new lobby were built in the 1980s.

http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=31.015228,-87.485118&spn=0.002165,0.005284&t=h&z=18 A small intermediate school it is used for grades 3-4 the wing on the left(front) built in the 1940s or 50s but the wing on the right (back)(built in the mid 1970s), Then used for K-6 now only 300 students for 3-4.

http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=30.571125,-87.096605&spn=0.002175,0.007328&t=h&z=18 Another suburban middle school with a neighboring elementary school. These are recently built appx. 2-3 years in age.

All of these are good examples of expanding schools!

It would be REALLY great if someone could design a train station which looked realistic. As in a VERY long, but also very narrow lot (ie. 1-2 X 8-10) with platforms ON the train line, between the lines, etc. It would become So much more realistic if the station was only 2 tiles deep, one of them being on the line. that way, it would have a normal capacity, but no parking. It would also look more realistic, having the station platforms being the same length as the trains...

There are quite a few stations on the STEX that would all ready suit your disposition. Like Marrast's stations are narrow and on the tracks, as well as more you'll find on the STEX. Ya just gotta look. ;)

Arnhem Centraal Station:

The train-station of Arnhem that has been designed in 2006, they are building it right now. The station should be done in 2013.

Why this is beneficiary to simtropolis:

I think it looks very cool. It is very functional as well. This isn't just a train station, it also has busses, a parking garage (below the station, it has a capacity of 1.500 cars), shops and two towers which require a lot of jobs (the towers are 64m high).

To give an impression:

nsp_arnhem_un_2.jpg

Buses will depart on the square in front of the station and in the station it self (you could see the entrance at the left side of the station). Behind the station is a road which leads to the parking garage (the entrance of the parking garage is located at the end of that road).

The color of the station doesn't come out very good on the impression, luckily they finished most of the platforms so to give an idea:

NIEUWPERRON.jpg

More photo's of the designer

It's probably not very helpful but here is a link to the maps location.

P.S. If someone has questions, you could PM me.

The Canadian Museum for Human Rights

cmhr04_le.jpg

CMHR%20modelshot-1.jpg

Description:

The Canadian Museum for Human Rights is a national museum currently under construction in Winnipeg, MB, Canada at the historic Forks where the Assiniboine and Red River meet. The purpose of the museum is to increase understanding and awareness about human rights, human rights issues and challenges, promote respect for others, and encourage reflection, dialogue, and action.

Established in 2008, the Canadian Museum for Human Rights (CMHR) was the first national museum created in Canada since 1967, and it is the first national museum ever to be located outside Ottawa.

Why is it beneficiary to Simtropolis:

It looks cool, and the design of the building is unique. Once BATed, this building will serve as an eye-appealing structure to all cities. It will be the first museum in Simtropolis that focuses on Human rights, and it would be a very big addition to any city.

Description:

The Horizons Condominiums Towers North and South are two modern/asian styles hi-rises in downtown San Diego, California. They were built on the corners of West Island Avenue and 1st Avenue (South Building), and Front Street and Market Street. (North Building), across from the Martin Luther King Promenade. [Also called Horizons Marina District]

Why Would the Horizons Condos Towers be Beneficial to the Community:

The Horizons Condominiums Towers would benefit the community because they are two beatiful hi-rises that could be used in the recreation of San Diego, CA or an Asian styled city. They are unique buildings that stand out in the skyline of San Diego, and would be a great addition to a varied and colorful city. If anyone chooses to BAT these towers, you may choose to BAT both the towers together as a single lot, or, since the towers are identical, you may choose to BAT one as a single lot. I apologize for the lack of information, but I couldn't find very much on these towers. Thank you. :)

Description:

Highmark Place is located in Pittsburgh, Pa. It is 616 feet tall and has 31 floors. It was completed in 1988, and was designed by Stubbins Associates.

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community:

This building should be added because of its iconic design and its important role in the Pittsburgh skyline.

A BATer should design this building because I can't design it myself; I can't get Gmax to install on my computer.

Thank You for the Continued Support!

Simtropolis depends on donations to fund site maintenance costs.
Without your support, we just would not be in our 24th year online!  You really help make this a great community. *:thumb:

But we still need your support to stay online. If you're able to, please consider a donation to help us stay up and running. This helps sustain a platform where we can share our community creations for years to come.

STEX Collections

By way of a "Thank You" gift, we'd like to send you our STEX Collector's DVD. It's some of the best buildings, lots, maps and mods collected for you over the years. Check out the STEX Collections for more info.

Each donation helps keep Simtropolis online, open and free!

Thank you for reading and enjoy the site!
