Hi Amthaak, glad the post helped. The tower looks great, and the glass is spectacular.

,

The wall texture still looks too dark--try lightening it another 15-20% and dropping the blue a bit--it's a bit too strong right now.

Gaaah... I'm dehydrated from drooling. This will be SO good when it hits the STEX!

A little observation: As it is now, the ceiling material on the right wing seems to reflect the tower - however, I'm sure it's not polished marble up there, or is the hotel that ritzy? wink_smile.gif

That hotel is that Ritzy - one of the ritziest in the world with a biggest fleet of Rolls-Royces in a world. But you're right that surface isn't polished marble, it is a paint and it shouldn't really give any clear reflection.

But I think it is a bit premature to get into all the material details at this point. Modeling should be finished first, thatn scen should rationalized and then materials worked through.

It's wonderful to see so much knowledge and productivity happening in one thread. Amthaak, you've really been devouring information. To think that it's been less than a year since you first started this thread!

9.gif9.gifI learn fast, but you guys have to explain me at length!

Jasoncw: the trixie gave me wings...!

T Wrecks: Yes my friend , you are right but as Sim Fox said I am still working on scale issue. Here is the back ( North   view), and I have already re work on the general dimensions of the tower (y axis)

Can you tell me how did you do that glass work?quote>

With great skill I'd imagine. 3.gif

Anyways, it's great to see that you've got the roof looking so nice. My last suggestion for it would be to replace that dull pinkish tile texture with one that is a little sharper. Maybe try adding a bump map as well, it just seems flat and out of focus to me... and doesn't fit with the overall theme of awesome that you've got going here.

I couldn't wait to see the whole complex so I put two of your screenshots together in Paint Shop. Everyone should see this, it looks AMAZZING!!

You would need to set a ground plane and texture it with some sort of image to be reflected in the glass. The plane should be made invisible to camera.

To come back to your point, " My last suggestion for it would be to replace that dull pinkish tile texture with one that is a little sharper", I am a little bit lost as I don't know how it is. Is it marble? What is the color??

By sharper what do you mean exactly?

Any information/pic are of course welcome! ( it's incredible that there is no pics of this terrace...!)

BTW: just to show you what can be done with OG :

OMG! This is out of this world good in quality! I see a trixie for best BAT going your way this year!

    Great job my friend!

But I am kinda sad. You see, I understood that you are going to do the old version of this building, without that tower. And I was so glad that another high quality classical looking BAT will be available on STEX.

    Nevertheless, amazing!

    Wow looking great!!

makes me want to learn to use bat4max, for make models like that! you gotta tell me some tricks for that, im envious, lol

tip. try to reduce the uvw map of the wood/floor texture also i feel that texture looks old, i mean, looks like youre in a old dockyard, compared of how modern the building looks...

maybe a texture like this suits?

The terrace looks great, I like the texture of the floor and that spot takes away the view from those flat grey roof on the sides.

And God knows that I don't want that2.gif! Seriously, Iam not sure at all of what there is under the stairs (and your comment confirms my doubt!) Is the woodden floor also under the stairs?42.gif

(Well, if it the case, it would  be more efficient/faster to tell me exactly what it is...!) 44.gif

I do not remember what it looks like under the stairs. But your model looks better without the white ground.

    ..just my petty thought 21.gif
