Well partially but take a look at these:

and this:

and at the proportions at your model:

I think you need to take another look at the whole arched windows and also at these bits of roof junk - (1) and (2). I'd say (1) is accurate. This leaves (2) grossly oversized.

Here's an image from the last page, I wanted to know is the dome really a brown look, you model is more gray than brown. :D

It's much better in every respect!

I would still say that those two boxes (roof junk above back facade of the building) are still too tall... I would rise the height of the large AC units on the left a bit and lower the height of the boxes on the right to approximately same value as those large ACs...

One more thing right now the ribs on the dome are a bit to draw on sort of... I mean it looks like they have sort of black stroke applied to them (in Photoshop terms)- I think it would be better if they would melt away into structure a bit better. To that end you may try to either turn off AO on the material you have on the dome altogether, or set it to Accurate AO.

This is amazing Amthaak! I'm glad you posted a real life photo! Otherwise I would've thought this building came from a South American country or something, now I'm in even more anticipation because I see this is an urban building! :)

Great Job my friend, Keep it up!

We, stardust, are the oddest observers of self (a.k.a. the universe).

I'm just a group of atoms typing this.

What do I know?

Here's the things you may need to change.

Red- I think the ribs look of the roof texture needs to be a little darker than the rest of the roof. :)

Yellow- I think the texture looks good, but I think you need to make the dirty look show a little more on that part of the roof. :)

Well imho, material on the dome after change is on the right trac, it's just that it seems a bit on the beige side on the model and a bit more yellowish on the real thing, you know, like ageing concrete.

And those windows are really deep on the real thing, maybe a 1+. dunno how that much depth would look on the model - it would really set the windows deep into the building, and probably hide them bit more as well.

And I'm not sure about Aaron's suggestion. I don't think ribs should be darker and I strongly disagree on making anything anywhere on any BAT's facade look dirty.

I agree, I actually think out of everything the Dome is the most spot on..adding dirt will not look right, it has the right amount of weathering and the shift in hue has worked perfectly. I also think the windows depth is ok, maybe a little deeper but sometimes things has to be "exagerated" a little every now and then to bring out the details in the game.

Great work on this, its going to look great and your yearly BAT should be as good as your last :)

Well...Thank you so much for all the time you spent for commenting (and sometime arguing...!)! many comments very challenging! especially because I didn't really start mapping, I was until now really more concentrate on getting the all thing with the right proportions, but it's okay ! about mapping (or texturing) the most important for me is to keep in mind to try to be subtle (as Jason said), the temptation of excess is big and sometimes, "better is the enemy of good". Anyway with the next pic there is a tentative of nearly everything commented! :thumb:

I think I need to stop helping on this and just say, "Great Job I love the building" I think I'm not helping to much. :( I feel that the brown look has ran away from the dome again, maybe SimFox, Jasoncw, and Cookatoo can help you better than me, my job is suppose to be batting not helping anyone at all because I'm not the best at it. :(

The tweaking is proving to be a 'sneaky' way to improvements o.O ... I liked it a couple pics ago but now, its just that much better  thanks for endeavoring to excel, as its paying off...

This project is going great, but I'd like to suggest that you change the material on those columns. Right now it honestly looks like you just slapped on a bit map to each one, and the same one at that. There are 46 columns on the building meaning you should have 23 different bit maps for the columns. In reality you probably don't need that many since most people won't pick up on the repetition, but they will notice if every column has the same weathering pattern. One idea would be to make a basic "clean" column bitmap and several bitmaps with different weathering/dirt/stain patterns and leave the clean areas of those as transparent. Then you could use RGB Multiply to add variation to the basic column image (the different "dirt" bitmaps would be inserted into a Mult/Sub-Map assigned the the columns by random or ID at your discretion). After you've done all of this I'd suggest using a very slight bump map to accentuate the different blocks of the columns. Also, you really wouldn't even need to make lines in your basic bitmap for the mortar lines between the columns, you could use the bump map alone. That would probably give you the best results, and those lines should be thinner than they are now, half or less of the current size, so that they are just barely noticeable. Good luck!

Vlasky: I am using W7 and you can "nail" anything on the toolbar  (sorry vlad and thanks a lot for your support! :thumb: )

    Aaron: thanks my friend! :thumb:

Roger: hi Roger , thanks my friend!

Bixel: I am using the Arch & Design material for everything, normally for most of the scenes I use the matte finish option but windows and water, and generally I make my own bitmap for the diffuse color in the main map! Nothing really special in fact! I use paint shop pro (like Cockatoo I think!) Anyway, thanks a lot for commenting here! Your support is always highly appreciated :thumb:

PBGV103: Thanks a lot for your technical comment, I is really interesting, I imagine that you do this way also for the windows! I agree entirely with you , the map on the columns is really "garbage", in fact I didn't really start to work on the columns right now, I am trying to finish the front side which is quite difficult! Here is a pic showing the evolution of the statues in the frontispiece.

I already know a good texturing will give great value to your statues.

    bravo bravo...
