I still can't believe I am up to 167 countries!

That's awesome! Holt District just reached 79 and I was excited. Schulmania is obviously the popular kid on the block. :P

Welcome to 281!

Perhaps the North Korean leaders think Schulmania is a real country? :P

emperordaniel Cat expanding ray? We will look into that one!

Gn_leugim Those evil buggs must be defeated!

emperordaniel It is truly massive. I have enough in game pix to make about 30 updates already, and I have only worked on about 1/5 of the capital.

Wiecher Indeed! And a big one!

Markus J Cats generally do not like cars… they take cats to the vet’s office and such. So they are not very welcome in Schulmania.

Hester They are definitely not the preferred mode of transport.

Lyhoko Leaci The name change will appear in future military updates. 400+ years into the radiation and it has dissipated about 15%...

SimCoug Could not have said it better!

    emperordaniel A wordle is http://www.wordle.net/

111222333444 Yep! We are getting creative!

Markus J I think Queensferry is trying that right now…

SimCoug A zoo is on the way!

    Hester Cool!

emperordaniel Thanks for the ideas. Some may end up in the capital.

Lyhoko Leaci The only thing with ‘sacred’ over ‘holy’ is we have a “Sacred Precinct” on Schulmanicus already. Would that create confusion? Not sure. The jury is still out on this one.

    naftixe Awesome!

SimCoug It may appear in District VI or perhaps in VII or XII.

emperordaniel The awards are awarded after a battle update which features the member in action. So posting has nothing to do with it. Rather, only those who chose to join the military can be in battle and earn awards for noteworthy combat action. As for the ribbons, I decided to just show them rather than list because many are related to a theater of operation and keeping track of them would sorta be a pain.

Lyhoko Leaci Have you got a spare one for us to borrow?

Joe 90 Some interesting ideas… thanks for the suggestions. And welcome to Schulmania.

    Gn_leugim We’re working on it!

    Hester Agreed.

sim_link 79 in a short time is quite an accomplishment!

Lyhoko Leaci I think it counts about 235-ish entities as countries… anyone with a .?? internet domain counts and some .??? as well…

111222333444 I remain mystified by the North Korea!

vivapanda The only thing I lack in Europe is Vatican City… I have all of mainland Americas but lack a lot of Africa.

Lyhoko Leaci Russia has been on a tear… passing Italy and perhaps Spain to be the next 1000 country. Slovenia is stuck on 99 and may be overtaken by Vietnam to be the next 100.

USA Patriot Thanks! Glad to have you back.

emperordaniel They should… as it is of course!

Wiecher That picture is AWESOME! I am going to co-opt it!

New goodies on the way soon!

Once I can get the graphics to work!

I love that picture that Wiecher posted!

By the way, I'm in the military as you can see from my uniform. I joined up back when the first call went out.

The black hole leeches are a bit touchy... they have a tendency to fire off minor gamma ray bursts and occasionally explode if they eat too much... Though if one could be dropped off in Queensferry held territory, it could definitely do some damage. And I think I could dig one up on Mtmleaci somewhere... (Mtmleaci = Leech Planet)

The Wirdleplex: Here Comes the Rain Again

I have noticed other people adding weather effects to their journals on Simtropolis, so it seemed to be about time for me to try it out. So, with apologies to the Eurhythmics, whose signature single’s title I have appropriated for this chapter, I present my first foray into weather effects. And, as one might imagine from the aforementioned title, the effect in question is rain. And now, on to The Wirdleplex, where the weather is turning a bit nastier.

    rain1.gif

As the rain starts, felines vacate the streets quickly. After all, ever met a cat who likes getting wet?

    rain2.gif

No one wants to visit the hedge maze and get their paws muddy or their fur wet

    rain3.gif

The sentries on duty at this portal are NOT happy either!

    rain4.gif

At Camp Beta 6, hungry military personnel scurry quickly to the Chicken King, hoping to run in between the raindrops

    rain5.gif

The tour group in the tower won’t budge until the rain stops

    rain6.gif

Rest assured that the military will be at full readiness, regardless of the weather!

I LOVE that rain effect! And Cape Beta 6 looks like a good place. Hope that is where *I* get to go for extra training.

A comment so good, it seemed a shame to leave it merely in the new section:

I sense some great movies coming out after Schulmania wins their war: "The Bridge on the River Cwat", "Tenne! Tenne! Tenne!", "Saving Private Tom", "Spider's List", "Catsablanca", "The Inglorious Catstards", "Hestorb's Heroes", "Grave of the Fireflies", etc.

So, what've I missed here? I'll try to do a better job of stopping by here everyday. Two kids and all, I get forgetful. And busy, don't forget busy!

Woo hoo! Mattb325 made my day!

Another BAT from my homeland! "Another?", you ask? He also did this one, which is my elementary school:

    To Matt, I say:

Your distinguished accomplishments in the world of Tennessee-related BAT making has earned you the Order of Maxis - Sim Star of Achievement

I'll bet the Sunsphere would make a cool in-game building... kind of a RL Braun Llama Dome!

And a special concert for you to mark the occasion:

What a wonderful surprise this morning to see that wonderful house Mattb made. And certainly, the school too. What skill!

And I have to tell you listening to the former Sim music made me smile. Heaven knows I heard it for hours a day and it's ingrained in my mind. Pleasant surprise to hear it again after all this time.

I was looking through the Schulmania archives when I found this picture, dated to near the start of the war:

    1stcomparison.jpg

It's amazing that the Schulminions have managed to survive three years of war when the odds are stacked against them so highly. :)

Also, what would that diagram look like now, I wonder... :P
