The Cobb Luminary Exhibition  2

About This File

Welcome to the Cobb Luminary Exhibition! This is

a large park ideal for a city center, with a diverse

array of colors and flora on display. I designed it

primarily for night-time display, but the exhibition's

gazebos, arches, obelisks, and gardens also make for

a pleasant daytime appearance. It would make a good

complement to the smaller Cobb Luminary Park (also

available on the ST exchange).

This park is 10x4 in size, and may be selected from

the Landmarks menu, with a cost of 26,000 and 150/month

maintenance. It functions like a landmark, with a YIMBY

effect of 40, and radius of 20.

Since this lot requires 25 files, I highly recommend

that you unzip them into a single folder within your

SimCity plugins folder (in the "my documents" path).

However, the files are named in an organized way.

This lot is also basically a prop pack. If you would

like to use any of the illuminated props on different

lots, please feel free to do so, but I would appreciate

credit if you upload them or otherwise prominently

display them in an altered way.

Many thanks to Kd5rax and Brenda_Xne for modeling many

of the trees in the C.L.E. And thanks to GOLDIVA for making

available her beautiful night-textures.

I hope that you enjoy the Cobb Luminary Exhibition!

-COBB

It's um... bright! I could see a lot of potential with these lighting techniques, though. Cool stuff!

err.. It's a bit pretty weird. suggestion: since its a luminary "exhibition", maybe u could make glowing statues. Colored spotlights.

& maybe a huge wall w/ colored lights forming a picture, like stained glass. Turn it into an outdoor museum or something. And a bit more organization is needed. -Though, that's a nice start in expressing your pure lighting abilities. ^_^

Is there another file that needs to be downloaded for this? Mine doesn't illuminate at night. But I'll give a 9.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions everyone. This is certainly not for everyone, I'm sure. :-) I neglected to mention above in bold text, to make sure that you have the BAT-related update for SC4 from the Simcity official site for the nightlights to work (for any BAT).

Also, be sure that power is connected to it. Take note whether your in-game streetlights immediatly next to it are lit up. It can be tricky at times, especially if you are using the "fightthepower" cheat. Cycle day/night a few times at cheetah speed if you have trouble.

meowza -- awesome ideas, but difficult to execute. Every new area of color on this is a whole separate BAT project. Note: if the files are in your plugin dir., each indiv. prop becomes available to add to any of your existing lots. Type "cobb" in lot editor and there they are.

Oh, so that's why... Hmm, It sounds really complicated (lots of bats)and hard to create. Anyway, I'm giving it a 10 for all the hard work!! I hope someday my ideas will be possible for u 2 create though (w/c I'm sure u can!) Gooo.. COBB!!

Huh? .... am I missing something; this lot has a few simple models, and makes use of other peoples' models and textures, and yet it ranks a perfect 10? I really don't understand what the fascination is with shiny things...
