About This File

Wellstone Plaza is a 44-story office building for the Houston and Euro tilesets. It is a generic 1970s international style office tower based on a number of buildings I saw on a recent trip to Chicago, most notably CNA Center and Daley Center. I've always thought the rusty COR-TEN steel facades of buildings like Daley Center or the US Steel Tower in Pittsburgh were interesting, so this is my attempt at something similar.

This model is available as a CO$$ tower in both growable and ploppable versions. It sits on a 5x3 lot and has 6000 jobs. Both Darknite and Maxisnite options are provided - use only one at a time!

Dependencies:

BSC_TexturePack_Cycledogg_V 01 - for my barebones lotting job

SimFox Day and Nite Modd - for the Darknite version of the model

The CAM lots included in this upload require the Colossus Addon Mod.

UPDATE 7-2-19: Added an additional non-CAM growable lot. Thanks to @Tyberius06 for pointing this out! :)

So wonderful to see you uploading to the STEX again! I suppose it's not easy to make such a black box building, which tends to look so simplistic at the first glance, really shine. Not surprisingly in your case, you pulled it off masterfully. Nothing really jumps out at you as spectacular, but the closer you look, the more you realise that everything is just right. There is simply no "yes, but..." - only "yes". *:)

Holy cow. Done up in that striking black facade, this building stopped me from snooping through the omnibus. I don't even remember what I was looking for now. This is a gorgeous office building! I love the night shot you included. It's a very comely shaped building given that it's just an extruded rectangle. You managed to take the boring and make it exceptional!

@IDS2

Hi!

I'm wondering if you are aware of that some of your office buildings, like this one requires the CAM (Colossus Addon Mod) as mandatory dependency for their growable lots, because they were made on CAM stages. And I don't see anywhere mentioning that CAM would be a dependency.
The followings contain only CAM growables (both maxis and dark nite versions):
CO$$10_4x2_100 Washington Square CO$$ GROW - IDS2 - 100 Washington Square
CO$$$12_3x2_Hiawatha Bank Tower - IDS2 - Hiawatha Bank Tower
CO$$9_2x4_IDS Keillor Tower 1 CO$$ - IDS2 - Keillor Tower
CO$$10_3x5_Wellstone Plaza - IDS2 - Wellstone Plaza

I "red-bolded" the grow-stages, they are in the LOT's name by default, but I double checked it with Reader, and they are CAM growables for sure. It's not really a problem for me, because I don't use growable skyscrapers (neither CAM currently), instead I use their ploppable with jobs versions. But others might use the growables without CAM, and they won't see these wonderfull buildings in their cities to be grown.
Everything above stage 8 can be considered as CAM stages for residentals and commercials (everything above stage 3 for agricultural and industrial) and can only be used by installed CAM.

If you knew about it, please put the CAM, into the description as dependency.

Thanks in advance!

@Tyberius06, thanks for pointing that out! I never realized that selecting the CAM stage for the growable version replaced the default growth stage (I figured anything over 8 would just be capped at 8 without the CAM installed). I don't have the original files for the first three anymore, but I will definitely create a non-CAM version of Wellstone and hopefully have it up shortly.

Edit: you're right, I just need the SC4model I've already uploaded. I don't know why that didn't occur to me *:P I'll get those taken care of too! Thanks for pointing that out.

Why do you need the originals? Which originals do you mean? Making a new non-CAM lot from those is like a 10 minutes work, specially that they don't even have dependencies and it can be done with the files what you've uploaded.

Thanks anyway! :)

Would you be willing to post a full turn around of this building? I might have something I need those shots to make ...
