About This File

The Columbia Gas Building is located in Wheeling, WV, at 44 16th Street. Completed in 1962, it's an example of early modernism spreading during that time, gaining popularity among architects. It served as the corporate headquarters of Wheeling based  Columbia Gas Company. It had been listed in the National Register of Historic Landmarks for a while. However, after several changes of ownership and tenants, the building is currently left unoccupied and empty, leaving it almost entirely dark at night, unfortunately, sharing the fate of many other run-down industrial towns after the decay of its local industry.

The six-floor CO$$ office building giving 58 a monthly income comes with two different lots, 2x2 row lot and  2x3 corner lot, roughly resembling it original location in Wheeling with some adjacent parking lots and bordered by a small park, originally part of the local Community College. It's available for Houston and European tilesets.

The download comes with a Maxis Nite and a Dark Nite version. Pick the version you need from the subfolder and copy it in your Plug-In folder along with the rest.

Lotting and modding has been done by the amazing @Andreas Roth of SFBT BAT Team over at SimForum.

The building has been made for my friend Ashley, a local who declared war on parking lots.

Very nice little building. I like the added greenery, it gives it a cosy, small town feeling.
