About This File

Info:

This is the 4th release of the Towers of Steel Project. The WBNS-TV Broadcast Tower is a 839ft (256m) tall freestanding lattice tower located in Columbus, Ohio. When built in 1956 it was the 10th tallest free standing structure in the world. The tower is a local landmark in downtown Columbus along with a nearby supertall guyed mast. It remains the tallest freestanding structure in the city to this day but is otherwise not well known elsewhere. The structure has a height to width ratio of 12:1 at its base and about 30:1 at its mid point, this BAT version is slightly thinner so as to fit the structure on a 1x1 lot without overhanging too much. It is the tallest ToS BAT to fit on a 1x1 lot. Left the grid on in the screen shot to give a better idea of just how tall it is. Also raised the WBNS lettering on the tower so its better seen in contrast with the white painted section.

The lot can be found at the bottom of the Landmark menu, some commercial cap relief and a landmark effect is also provided.

Stats:

Plop Cost: $8,390
Landmark Effect: 25 radius 50
Demand Satisfied: C$ 5000, C$$ 5000, C$$$ 5000,
Monthly Cost: $0

Dependencies:

No dependencies are required for the actual structure itself. However for the green fence along the base the following prop pack is required; https://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/14212-sfbt-essentials/

Additional in-game screen shots can be seen here.

I live in Columbus, and every once in a while pass the 10TV tower while on 315, at the Dublin Road/I-670/Neil Ave interchange. The LeVeque Tower is a major piece of the skyline, built as the American Insurance Union building, in Art Deco. The LeVeque tower really should be modeled for SC4.

Thanks for making this tower! I hope that you can make more buildings of C'bus. I'd really love to see Ohio Stadium added to the STEX.
