About This File

!!! PLEASE READ THE INCLUDED README. IT CONTAINS ESSENTIAL INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS !!!

NOTE: Fixes are available at the support thread. Check the support thread first before reporting bugs.

Description
The Light Replacement Mod (LRM) v4.0 Mega Pack consists of three parts: a prop pack, some plopable streetlights sets and a streetlight override mod.
The first part, the prop pack, is essential for this mod. It contains 59 new streetlight designs and over 200 new props you can use for lots.
The second part, the plopable streetlights sets, contains 31 sets of plopable streetlights for on the road sides and 20 sets for RHW medians. These can be used to enlighten your (Real) Highways. With lots of variation, there’s plenty of choice for everyone!
The third part, the streetlight override mod, contains overrides for all streetlights in-game, replacing the Maxis streetlights with custom designs. This will give your city an unique and characteristic look. There’s a large variety of designs available in various styles. Want to make your cities look more American, European or Commie? No problem! You can even compose your own style, isn’t that great?
All streetlights in this pack also have a more uniform light spreading, making your cities not only looking great from up close, but also from further away. So what are you waiting for? Install some new lights and give your city a whole new look at day and night!

Dependencies
There are no dependencies for this package, since it’s a dependency by itself.

Compatibility
The streetlight override part of this mod is incompatible with the Uniform Streetlight Mod or earlier versions of the Light Replacement Mod. This mod also replaces the following packs with a new, updated version:
- LRM Plopable RHW Median Light Pack 01
- LRM Plopable Streetlights 01 & 02
- LRM Prop Pack 01 & 02

wait, so is this broken or not?
It's not broken. Someone doesn't understand what the report button does.

On another note, Maarten, great work here as always! This looks like a very expansive set here, and my (metaphorical) hat is off to you!

Gonna give this a try...but sadly, I really didn't go out on a limb and try to give my city a whole new look and feel with other lights besides USA...hehe, but maybe in the future I will toy with your other styles. Let's see how this works!

Is there anyway to select light color? All the lights are brilliant white now...and I desire the amber lights with maybe a few white lights for wealthier areas. I saw earlier that you said the lights automatically choose color as they should be in real life, but I am not seeing this.

Then you probably have a conflicting mod installed somewhere, like the Uniform Streetlight Mod. This is clearly stated in the ReadMe.

Unfortunately I can't make any screenies right now (PC is still broke), but the Maxis Night lightcones are the less bright ones compared to the DarkNite set. The Maxis Night light cones are too dim for DarkNite.

Some lots have lamp posts placed to close to each other. This may appear as a bright spot at night, but this is simply because the light cones for this mod are less bright, but about 10 times as big. Beside that, the high-wealth streetlights, that didn't recieve light cones before, now do have light cones. Personally I never came across this problem (maybe it's because I have only lots installed with proper lighting?)

Besides that, there are 11 completely different sets in both variantions available for this mod, and even over 400 files for custom sets. It'd take way too much time to check them all (especially since they are overriding each other), let alone make pictures of all of them. It just practically impossible to do that.

One question: For a future update, will it be possible to select the color of the lights, like in the USL?

I prefer white lights over amber or orange colored lights, even though I live in an area which uses those colors.

When I install this, all the lights (the actual lighting on the ground, both from poles and from buildings) become squares? I do not have any other light mods installed. Before this it was all (dull) and normal. All updates are installed, too.

Ooh nevermind. There is a fix for the squares on the Forum. Good work!

Big unique problem for me, I installed it and I now have colored shadows at night.

A reminder for everyone:

Fixes are available at the support thread. An installer will have to wait for a while, since I lost the development files of that when my PC got fixed.

I just can't install well this mod. I'm doing all the thing the PDF readme file says, but the brown boxes are still there. I'm wondering if I'm copying bad this files. I'm putting them into the plugins folder, which also has a folder named "LRMv4.0 Mega Pack (MAC Version)".

I'm a Mac user. OSX 10.6.8

If anybody can help me I'll appreciate it.

i really really love this. But sometimes, certain lots are wayyyyy too bright, but im guessing those are the lots and not the mods. And if I scroll down the parks menu too fast, once I get to the UK style lights after the US and NFSU2 styles, the game freezes and I have to close it all down
