ReZonePlus Mod - Version 1.1

Introduction

Hello Simtropolis! This mod is a modification to the game which I created that eliminates minimum and maximum barriers as well, eliminating the cost of zoning and de-zoning (Why should you have to pay to mark/zone an area?). :P

***Remember: This mod is a realism mod. There are no significant cheats included in this mod except the elimination of zone and dezone costs. Since streets are eliminated with the ingame ''dezone'' tool, Street removal cost is still included.***

Files

This mod includes one file which is installed when the installer is run.

-ReZonePlus.dat - Eliminates dezoning cost; Eliminates zoning cost; Eliminates maximum zoning area; Eliminates minimum zoning area.

Dependencies

None.

Installation

1. Unzip the folder.

2. Run the install program.

Questions? Concerns?

Please private message me (Element) here at Simtropolis. :)

I hope you enjoy this mod. :bunny:

Oops! I found a conflicting bug that messes up the mod. I fixed it though, but you will need to re-download for it to work properly.

Sorry about that. :P

ohey, now that's a handy little tool. Not necessarily perfectly realistic but closer to it than before. (zoning makes paperwork, which costs money, which also creates data entry jobs...which cost MORE money, ain't bureaucracy great?)

I know I'll use it

Good idea and excellent for those who have money problems with the game or would like an easier game play, but not a realism mod as you said above. IRL you have to pay to zone and dezone land for res, com or ind, and believe me, depending where, it can cost a lot of money. ;)I just dezoned (last month) 3.5 acres of agricultural land to residential (here in Canada) and it cost me 4,000 $ Can of Government and Notary fees.

"Why should you have to pay to mark/zone an area?"
Because the basic facility has been deployed, but you can not see it. For example, the zoned area is able to transfer electricity to an adjacent area. If we use this mod, zoning area will be able to transfer electricity for free. And what will happen? The poles become useless. People will use this mod as a bug to transfer electricity from a far place!

Actually, that seems useful for when I first develop each of my cities. Is it compatible/unaffected by the SPAM?

Hey Fred,

Here in the Netherlands rezoning to residential gives you a heck of a heap of money. When you succeed! And when someone will build on it.

Nice mod, by the way.

Great Mod! Sure it can be exploited as Oliver Lock mentions, but that is not even an issue, because those who play for realism will not exploit such a bug. I will definitely be using this! Thanks!

The mod probably conflicts with the SPAM mod. I haven't tested it with SPAM so for the moment I would say that this mod is designed for non-spam players. :)

Great for the modder to share this, but this hardly adds realism to or transform the game. Looking forward to your next contribution though.

Make sure this mod loads after the SPAM. The SPAM includes a ton of crap it really shouldn't, so if something doesn't work with the SPAM, try making the new mod load after the SPAM and see if any SPAM functionality is removed.

In the case of this, I think the SPAM includes these files to remove the minimum size restriction from Agricultural Zones (Which is available elsewhere separately I might add) and this mod will extend that functionality.

Yes, this mod extends that functionality by removing maximum and minimum zoning areas, such as the fact landfill areas can now be set to 1x1.

You can also make this mod load after SPAM by renaming the .dat to "ZZZ_ReZonePlus" and placing it in the main directory of your plugin's folder. :)

Hi American Dalek Hunter, are you sure you tested out the zoning tools with the mod? They should work perfectly if you don't have any similar mods installed. Can you be a bit more specific?

Cheers! :)

I just tested out the zoning tools on the game and nothing happens. I clicked on every single city lot and nothing happened. ReZonePlus is actually my first plugin for simcity4 rush hour edition. I will show you a step by step process of what I did.

1. I pressed the download button at the top

2. I clicked on the ReZonePlus Installer

3. A pop-up on my computer asks where I want to download it.

4. I chose the Simcity4 Plugins Folder

5. The computer downloaded the installer

6. I went into the SimCity4 Plugins Folder and Launched the Installer

7. The program was saved and installed on my computer

Could you please help me? I don't want this to happen when I install more plugins. Thanks for your help Element.:)

Oh well, you should check your uploads for possible conflicts, and report them.

It would be best if you listed the exakt type of modification you had done so people could get an idea what conflicts this could lead to.

I assume the cost of the zones are supposed to reflect the legal and administrative costs associated with the sale of the property.

"-ReZonePlus.dat - Eliminates dezoning cost; Eliminates zoning cost; Eliminates maximum zoning area; Eliminates minimum zoning area." -- So, this mod is also supposed to remove the minimum size limit for agricultural zones, correct? If yes, should I remove Ir placement mod by Fukuda if I install this mod?
