About This File

The Hong Kong/ Asia BAT Team Presents…

Tomorrow Square

Model, Modding / Lotting, Custom Menu Icons & Readme – Cockatoo.

A request by SimCity player.

Overview:

Tomorrow Square - a futuristic building completed around 2003 located in Shanghai, China. I’m calling this BAT a ‘partial’ recreation because several aspects of the model differ from the real world building, mainly around the base. The main part of the tower, its shape, size and proportions however remain true to the real structure.

I’ve included a Dark truNite model for day/night mod users in addition to a regular Maxis truNite model for those who don’t.

In this download there are three versions included.

  • Growable stage 8 CO§§ providing 2577 medium wealth jobs.
  • Growable stage 14 CO§§ providing 6695 medium wealth jobs.  (CAM)
  • Plopable functional CO§§ providing 6695 medium wealth jobs.
  • Plopable static landmark.

The stats are as follows:

It's all in the README.

Dependencies:

These are the files you need for these lots to be able to function in the game…

•   None!

Installation:

Copy the HKBAT folder into the Plugins folder. Select whether to use the Maxis Nite (MN) or Dark Nite (DN) version, deleting the MN or DN folders accordingly.

If you want to use the CAM version, you must also copy the CAM folder.

  • CO$$8_3x3_Tomorrow Square.SC4Lot  =  Growable CO§§
  • CO$$14_3x3_Tomorrow Square.SC4Lot =  Growable CO§§ CAMeLot
  • PLOP_CO$$_3x3_Tomorrow Square.SC4Lot  =  Plopable CO§§
  • PLOP_3x3_Tomorrow Square.SC4Lot  =  Landmark

Any Issues?

If you have any problems with my custom content, please send me (Cockatoo-210893) a private message at either Simtropolis or SC4Devotion.com.

that's a pretty nuts creation there, epic work cockatoo! Although they look very pretty, I'm not quite clear on what the colourful spots & streaks are at night time (is this some kind of a modern HK lighting effect?)

The colourful streaks are environmental reflections -- they're meant to give the impression that the building is reflecting light from other nearby buildings or structures at night.

I love the bottom half then cockatoo, but the top half just seems a little too busy to me. Don't get me wrong, this thing (lights included) is truly stunning (esp the daytime reflections and the night windows), but the strongly red/blue/green/yellow of the reflections just caught my eye as unusual. I'd still give it 10/10 if I could. ;-)

Not really unusual, with buildings being lit up around it and with it being made of glass..superb work, plopped this down to see what it looks like and it's wonderful. Glad to see some action from you again

Did I read that somebody did not give this a 10/10 because of the extra detailed reflections that happens to be colours of blue/red/green? To me this is simply one of the best Shanghai bats ever, ranking this along Broadway Mansions and Cockatoo's own Aurora Plaza.

kendiecasttsoi: I asume you're referring to me, and you misunderstood what I was saying. My point was that despite my (very slight) misgivings, I would still give it 10/10 if I could (but can't because there's a maximum of 5/5 on the STEX). I gave it a 5 and if it was out 10 I would give it a 10, not a 9. To me I would expect a more generally orange scheme, but I suppose the skyline of Shanghai is more colourful.
