UPDATE Aug 13, 2010: fixed a potential graphical glitch that would show on steep slopes

[NOTE: These are simple application examples that show various lots right next to each other. This time around, I left some space inbetween the lots and filled it with Maxis' open grass area. You could also plant some trees there or use forest lots, park trails, community gardens etc.]

INTRODUCTION

This download contains four additional lots based on JBSimio's Evergreen residential building, part of his RUSA series. Once again, I felt that the two variations would make for nice lots with more than one building on them. However, since the buildings are rather wide, more than two on one lot would have resulted in a terribly crowded look.

Since the lot sizes are the same as last time, existing medium-wealth lots like the Arbor Woods Multi-Building Lots I made earlier can be overgrown with the high-wealth lots contained in this package. (And yes, some low-wealth lots are in the making!)

I made this upload in order to extend the 'large lot' concept to the American tilesets. The lots contained in this archive are 4x5, 5x4 and 5x5 tiles in size, grow on medium density only, and only in the tilesets Chicago and New York to differentiate them from more modern stuff. There are two 5x5 lots with totally different layouts.

STATS & FEATURES

Each lot comes with 2 buildings and houses 234 high-wealth sims. They grow on stage 4, so you can use them pretty early in the development of your city. All other stats have been tweaked carefully to fit right in without any undesired side effects. Neither do you need to fear a sudden surge in garbage production, nor will these lots act like secret cheats.

Further features:

  • 4 lots included
  • Each lot holds 2 buildings which appear randomly in 2 colours (grey and yellow)
  • Extensive use of prop families for more variety
  • Extensive use of shaded props (credits to Cycledogg) for better realism
  • Slope-friendly: thanks to the great custom foundations made by JBSimio, the lots will look rather good on modest slopes; you will hardly see ugly lot foundations or retaining walls if you zone on halfways gently sloping terrain
  • BTE-compatible: All additional occupant groups that are used to count towards special BSC reward lots have been copied into these additional lots as well ("BSC Tracking Enabled")

DEPENDENCIES

You will need:

THANKS AND CREDITS

I'd like to express my gratitude to JBSimio for his superb BATs, ArkenbergeJoe for the 'large lot concept' and Cycledogg and SimGoober for the beautiful props - not to forget various BSC members for the nice textures.

ENJOY!

[NOTE: I just realized I named the files "Evergreen Hills x3", when there are only 2 buildings on each lot. Stupid me. So yeah... ignore that part of the file name, can you do that for me? 21.gif]

Oh, almost forgot: Don't worry about the parking lots - I just took the pictures at a time when most sims were at work (or at the golf club?). Depending on daytime, cars will appear and disappear.

God I can't stand seeing townhouses like this go up, they are so tasteless and fake! None the less, these things are pooping up everywhere these days and it is great to have them on such a wonderful lot.

@simhottoddy: "these things are _pooping_ up everywhere" - now that was a Freudian slip if I have ever seen one. :-P

Haha, well I can't really say that they aren't "pooping" things up, but they are definitely being built all over the place xD

Oh these are just so perfect. I'd been using the original lots an awful lot lately, and these will help so much with variety. Now all I need is spa's Halifax residentials, and my long planned coastal viliiage can take off. TY!

And I thought the re-lots of these I did for myself were nice, but apparently, compared to these, I was wrong. Well done! 5/5

No, they are not ploppable from the menu. It doesn't make sense as the residents can't leave the lot, so the buildings will get abandoned. However, if you download the Extra Cheats DLL (check the forum section SimCity 4 General Discussion), you can plop ANY building in your plugins folder.
