About This File

A small shopping center for your Sims. It is eye-candy only, so no jobs. Sorry about the picture, the SC4 picture isn't right file type. Enjoy!

FIX: Picture is now correct. Enjoy for real!

You must have an ingame pic. Get one that is the right type. If your computer is new enough to run SC4, it must be able to save files as a .jpg

open the image in paint (or, literally, ANY other program), and click "save as..." and re-save as a .jpg

Also, whem you save the image file, remove all numbers from the filename.Eg: asd22/45/345.jpg change the name too asd.jpg I dont Know if this is already fixed, but the stex don't accept files with numbers in the name.maybe this is some kind of anti-malware system I think.

Ok, now there's a picture. But it's still something that anybody could make in the LE.

I would really suggest a LOT thread, advice is the most usefull thing we can give. unfortunately i have too many problems with this to write them here, but if you had a thread i would comment. Good to see another person on the LOT and creative scene, i hope we can help you to improve.

I'm not trying to be harsh, but it doesn't look much like a shopping centre. I agree with timmystwin, if you opened a lot thread in the forums, we could give you some ideas on how to improve. Rome wasn't built in a day!

I think I'd call this an open market more than I'd call it a shopping centre...

Everybody, would you please stop making those totally nonsensical comments about "wasting STEX bandwidth"? Bandwidth is needed for data transfers, so if anyone uploads something that few people would want to download, it will quite logically cause a negligible amount of data transfers. On another note, ANY download activity affects bandwidth, so the best way to "save STEX bandwidth" would be not to download at all, however much you like something.

If anything, less popular uploads occupy some server space (of which there is no lack!) and increase the number of files to choose from - that's where the STEX search, the rating system and your download finger come into the equation: They all act as filters. The STEX is an open exchange as per Dirktator's Decree, so learn to live with it.

On the other hand, for every 5 uploads you don't like, there may be the occasional odd stuff you DO happen to like, so the chance of finding such stuff here is the trade-off for the larger amount of files. Instead of complaining, you'd better offer help and constructive criticism.

To pick some examples, the question "Why is there a real airplane?" is a valid point of criticism, but "it should be called eye horror" is merely an insult.

Where do you live where shopping centres look like that? But looks good anyway. Thanks?

I agree with T Wrecks. The lot itself isn't too bad, but you do need to open a thread to improve. Keep trying though.

The upper right quadrant makes no sense at all. It looks like there's a missing dependency, the base texture is the same as un-zoned grass. This is a massive 6x6 parking lot, which looks like it should accomodate buildings five times the size of what are given. I'd hate to have to park at the street and walk all the way down for something as unremarkable as Bob's Grease Pit.
