This is great! I just ran the file and it turns out there was stuff in my Plugins folder that I didn't need. Very useful for anyone that has cleanitol...

@ FLyHigh et al.: Cleanitol is a custom-made application that can, among other functions, scan your plugins folder for files that are not needed there, e.g. TXT, JPG, HTM, PNG etc. These will just take up space and resources. microbee has now updated the list of files to be removed to new file types so that these will be found as well.

Hi all, Sorry for the belated reply. I actually wrote a lengthy spiel on how to use Cleanitol etc. when I first uploaded this file but for some reason the upload didn't work - and of course, I didn't backup my file :-\ So I reuploaded it, minus the helpful instructions. Basically, as the others said, download Cleanitol: https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=97 and run this file through it.

Thanks microbee - good update. I still get the following with datapacker .xls .css .dll .thmx as not SC4 files. Any chance you can add these next time.

"I still get the following with datapacker .xls .css .dll .thmx as not SC4 files. Any chance you can add these next time." I've never come across them but I will certainly update it. Not so sure about dll though - the maxis cheat is a dll - I don't think people would like that removed from their plugins folder.

Thanks again - I've just checked and it's probably best to leave out the dll, most of them do get packed (must be specific files that datapack didn't like)

hopefully a great things to use (I am new to all this) - I have only just installed cleanitol - what do you mean by "run this file through it"

TFM: Click the "..." button in Cleanitol and browse to where you extracted the file ('takeoutthetrash.txt'). Select it and it will load. Now click "locating files", then click "backup now". It will then tell you a list of files that it removed from your plugins folder. That's it, press "Quit". This is really useful if you are going to use datpacker. Do a search for it after you work out Cleanitol.
