About This File

VVER-1000 Pressurised Nuclear Reactor

A bit of Info-

"VVER (Vodo-Vodyanoi Energetichesky) is a series of pressurised water reactors that were developed and used by the former Soviet Union, its satellites, Finland and the present-day Russian Federation. The VVER was a more expensive reactor design, and the former Soviet Union opted for the graphite-moderated RBMK (i.e Chernobyl) series nuclear reactors on the grounds of cost as well as the ease of re-fueling the RBMK while the reactor was still operational compared to the VVER which needed to be shut down to be re-fueled and is of a much safer design.

The earliest VVERs were developed before 1970. The VVER-1000 is the largest design in the VVER family and was developed after 1975, it is a four-loop system housed in a containment-type structure with spray type steam suppression system. The VVER series nuclear reactors were also scaled down in size and was used by the Soviet Navy's nuclear submarine fleet as well as by surface warships"

This pack contains 6 buildings; 2 Out buildings, 1 Pumphouse and 3 seperate looking Reactors - 1 with a Steam chimney, 1 without a Steam chimney, and one with a Steam chimney, Lenin Mural and a worker inspiring poster at the entrance to boost moral on those 12 hour shifts.

For the sake of neutrality, the lot I made does NOT contain the Lenin mural reactor, but its still a Prop if you fancy having it instead of one of the others, just relot it in LE.

Thanks to Glenni who beta tested it and reports there are no problems with either the plant or the pump! If anybody has any problem though, direct your complaints to me via PM so I can kick his arse. =P

Sim-Al2: I set it on fire a few times and, although it doesn't go up in a Mushroom cloud when it is destroyed, it still spews out radiation pretty much equal to the Maxis Nuke plant. Christianmori: Yes, just put all the files into your Plugins. Word of warning - I tried to make a folder containing all the files before I uploaded, but the Plant stopped producing power. So don't put the Plant in any subfolders or it won't work!

You should also make something like a nuclear power plant lot pack that include cooling towers, reactors, etc. so that people could make their own customizable nuclear powerhouses. It would also be great for people who are making CJ's to make a Three Mile Island of their own. =D

That's a nice piece of work. Now wouldn't you want to make an RBMK type plant as well? Some other guy did that of Chernpbyl but there are more RBMK plants that could be BATted. They emit radiation while other types of NPP normally don't.

A little mistake: the settings are "waste to energie", thats why it doesn't work. All others: 10/10

I'm a bit baffled as to how to use this... I only seem to be getting 1862 Mwh out of it. I'm giving it lots of water and nothing's in a folder... Looks great, though.

And yeah, is it supposed to be incinerating trash? Its power output actually seems to be dependent on the amount of trash I'm producing.

I like it very much. Your textures are marvelous. And the models have a good balance between simplicity and high detail. You should teach BAT making, pal! Seriously, i'm very much interested in your ideas about BAT making and the methods you use for making textures and models! Thank you for sharing this with the community!

9/10, its excellent, except upon opening up the inards of it to modify it for a personal super power plant I noticed its also set up as incinerator, and I dont think thats very realistic. Also, a CANDU reactor would also be nice.

Alright I figured it out. The file, a .rar is another type of compression in addition to .zip. So, follow this link and download and install the extractor. Then extract the file as El Burro described and it should work. For me, I then found the reactor in the power menu and the pump in the water menu, as he said. http://download.cnet.com/windows/3055-2250_4-10007677.html?tag=pdl-redir
