About This File

Have you ever crafted a stunning public space in your cities, only to find it just a bit lifeless? These 1x1 tiles of pure pedestrian energy have been created for the purpose of averting this problem. Three lots are included: one with a grassy base texture suitable for parks, another for plazas, one more with a transparent base ideal for beaches.

These straightforward lots combine a mixture of standing people props and random walk effects giving a completely varied appearance. They are much more visible at greater zoom levels, but can still be seen to give life to your city as far out as zoom 3.

The stats are as follows:

  • Plop cost: §10
  • Monthly cost: §1
  • Bulldose cost: §1
  • Landmark effect: 2 over 10 tiles
  • Park effect: 1 over 10 tiles
  • Garbage produced: 1 unit

  • The water and power consumption, pollution values and flammability all stand at zero, as does the number of dependencies!

Important Note:

The people displayed on these lots are affected by the ingame day and night cycles. Even if you haven't set it to shift through day and night, they will disappear at 20:00 and come out the following morning at 08:00. You can use the cheat of "whattimeizit" followed by the desired time if you want to see them on demand.

So simple of an idea.... but so amazingly useful! I'm surprised this hasn't been thought of before! Great work!

Did you know that the NAM has already lots like these included? But I just love the one with transparent textures, you earned a medal for this idea!

mrbisonm - do you mean ped mall tiles? Well actually these lots are just eye candy, but now you've given me the idea I might transit enable them for pedestrian traffic.

Given some of our more poorly designed real world cities, it is a pity these tiles don't exist in real life, hehe.

mrbisonm: If you have any of the 2007 versions (Jan and June) of the NAM, you'd know that they removed the pedestrian effect from them. ;) Nice idea, by the way.

Very useful!!! I've just recently created a theatre district in my city but it seemed empty and boring. Now I can use this mod to make it seem like a crowded, busy area! Nice job!
