About This File

I've finally managed to understand the basics of textures in gmax so here's my 2nd version. Hope you like it better.

For a first try, it looks pretty good!. It could use some work, but I think that you did well for a first BAT.

This is a great model, but I think that the textures could use a bit of work. Open up a thread in the BAT Showcase (Custom content) forum asking for advice on the textures. I think the statue needs to appear much older and weathered. As for the size, I think it's perfect, after all the people that made these kinds of statues, liked to make them big!

Thats sort of a skinny buddha... did you model the statue yourself or did you find it on one of those free model sites.

This is a good 1st bat. As others have stated, the texture could use a bit of work. I feel that the size is fine. It is also quite good to see some buddhist statues.

Wow, it's very nice, especially for a first BAT. As others have mentioned, you might work on perhaps highlights on the gold for that metal sheen, and maybe tinker the base texture to give the sense that it is made of individual stone or marble blocks. You might also consider also offering a 1x1 tile, so that repetitive lines and patterns of these Buddhas flanking a path can be made. A definite download!

This is a GREAT start! Like others have said, you should start a thread to show your progress. There are some excellent BATters who can give you tips and help you to be all you can be, while still having your own style. Good job!

This is great migueluk...I agree its a little too large for me to use, but for your first BAT it's great. You are obviously someone to keep an eye on in future!

The modeling is great looking, but as others have said the texuring isn't very good. Even though this is your first BAT, it looks like you have alot of experience with other things. I don't understand why people are rating this low.

Good work for a first B.A.T! It would look nicer with some more props in the plaza, or if it was just the statue on a 1x1 sized lot. However very good work 9/10-i look forward to seeing more of your B.A.T's

hamsterTK: I did the body on Poser and replaced the head with a 3d head model I'd downloaded somewhere. The stand I did myself after loads of mistakes... ;) I'll have to get to know more about textures and will definately improve these when I can. And as suggested, I might also make a smaller 1x1 version for free repetitive use. Thanks for the comments guys!
