About This File

Updated July 28, 2007! All my old files are being updated and re-released to fix a host of minor issues and mistakes I made when I was still learning. The lot and desc files are the same the original meaning that the new version will replace the old one in your cities without any brown boxes as long as you delete the previous version. A BSC Cleanitol file will be available on SC4Devotion's BSC exchange as soon as I have all the updated files released, which will make the job of deleting the old versions easy.

The Toronto Dominion Bank (official name Toronto Dominion Canada Trust) is Canada's second largest bank. It dates back to as early as 1855. Its present name came from the merger of the Bank of Toronto and the Dominion Bank in 1954 and the 2000 merger with Canada Trust. The bank boasts the longest hours of the five major Canadian banks so the nightlighting on this BAT is appropriate. However, generally all the useful staff are still on "bankers hours" and are gone at 5:00 or earlier.

This BAT is part of my five BAT set of Canadian bank branches that is designed to help relieve some of the monotony of small Maxis commercial service buildings. This is actually the first BAT I ever completed. It is based on a real TD branch located on Spring Garden Road in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Included in this upload is a growable and a ploppable version with identical stats. Both come on a 2x3 lot and provide120 Cs$$. The growable appears on the New York and Houston tilesets. One dependency SPA essentials available here. See the readme for more detailed stat information and installation instructions.

Check out my bat thread here or on SC4devotion for detailed information about the updates or my future projects.

Toronto Dominion also had a branch in downtown Houston.. Look up "2 Houston Center" building online. The houston slkyline bldg is there but dont' know if TD is still located on 17 floor there, but it was a really NICE location!

TD Canada Trust is only the name of the largest division of the bank. The entire company is still called TorontoDominion.

I think the nighlights on this are the best of your banks, and also some wonderful details on the roof.

Thanks everyone. I'm glad to share. This is a special bat because its the first one I did properly. I didn't know that TD actually had branches in the states. Interesting to know.

Thought you would like to know, The Orlando Magic play at the TD Waterhouse Centre. Just part of our Canadian master plan to take over the United States. We already own Hollywood!

Good background. I didn't know that Toronto Dominion wasn't the original name, though you left out the purchase that TD made of Canada Trust to become TD Canada Trust. There was and (i believe) still is 2 TD banks within about a block of each other in a major strip shopping centre here in Calgary due to the merger. They never closed one of the locations, or if they have now, its just recent.

6459978: I'm sorry you don't like it. Some of it's that the photos presented had to be shrunk but some of it's on the BAT. There is only so much you can do to make such small textures and objects show up and unfortunately the instant teller sign didn't turn out as well as the rest.

I don't think it's that bad though, horrible might be a bit of a stretch? You can read it and tell what it is and the TD Canada Trust part is sharp. Maybe I should have just deleted the other bit and left it out. I'll think about it more next time.

Glad to see that you chose to model the best bank! Been waiting a long time for Canadian Bank Branches!

I didn't mean to say that it looks 'horrible' persay, but the aspect ratio is off-- it's been stretched too wide and the foreshortening angle of SimCity 4 doesn't help it either. I appreciate that it's taken from a photo, but for future reference I'd suggest widening the texture by inserting a cloned green patch in the middle.
