About This File

By popular demand, I am adding my Moose Factory Lot (BAT) to the STEX.  Enjoy.

Ummm, you've fallen into the standard first BAT trap. Have a look at the people on the lot and compare them with the height of the building. You need to allow a 1.5% vertical scaling factor for the small buildings (e.g. 2m in RL = 3m in the game).

Ooop, that should be "tunred on for the roof". It's always worthwhile doing a Day+Night preview just before you export to capture any texturing errors.

I Think It looks quite good and fits in perfect with some of the Low Wealth Maxis Commerical buildings *10* :)

Is this from Moose Factory as in the Hudson Bay outpost on James Bay? Been there, don't recognize it. Not bad.

What a dissapointment.... I'd always expected The Moose Factory to look better than this.... 4/10, sorry.

I agree with bookworm. I would've have thought it to be more of a restaurant with internet access not a little shack.

@deadwoods: It is not a first BAT. I rather like the night texture on the roof. A little non-conformism is good. For those looking for a gigantic internet cafe, sorry. It is a neighborhood bar. I don't recall seeing most of you in that bar. Drop in and join the conversation in off topic.

If I'd have known this was here I would have downloaded it sooner. Don't worry about the poor comments. These are comming from people who only want flash and less realism, they are also the people who complain if thier ice cream is to cold.

Comparing the height and other dimensions of the "squashed box" with the scale of the carparking places, and the height of the "people" - they would have to lay like sardines in a tin - a very poor effort at BAT making.

like someone else asked... is this from the town of Moose Factory right next to Mosinee(sp) in Ontario??

That's okay, a good small bar and grill ;)

You should look at really old restaurants like the old Dairy Queen Shop, it looks like that :D

A solid     out of     0:)

Well, in fact, it is not. Moose Factory is a native people's reservation across the river from Moosonee. Polar bears? anyone?

Sorry to be so late, but that's life. However, don't expect conformant BATs from me. Take a look at the Mota college for something interesting. It took me quite a while to get that spiral just so. And the texture for the dome is a chunk out of the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel.

I always envisioned the Moose Factory perched over a cliff in a colossal metropolis on an island, sort of like clinging onto the cliff face with an overhanging balcony and two floors bolted to the cliff, in a sort of ultra modernistic style. This was rather disappointing, especially with the poor BAT scaling. 4/10 for effort.
