In the 1950's, a brillaint team at Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico worked in being the first astronauts. With very little money or support but plenty of courage and optimism, these pre-astronuats proved the impossible.
In 1946, Dr. John Paul Stapp was a young air force medical docter. In one of his experiments he sended Dogs, Cats, Monkeys, and Mice to space. you may say they were the first "thing" from earth to the outer atmosphere. There first Vehicle to go into the outer atmosphere was the hot huge helium ballon. In the 1960's the company ran out of many and had little income (like you mayors somtimes do) there last mission was to send Kittinger to space. The mission was simple: How to end up back at the planet. That's right Kittinger jumped out of the ballon 100,000 feet in the air. He fell of at the speed of 714 miles per hour, the first man to go supersonic speed without an airplane! As they ended there journey, there intellegence is still being use today. (By NASA if you didn't know ~_~) This is a similar office they had in new mexico. Located in landmarks. My first BAT upload on the STEX!
