Hello, I'm hoping you guys can help me. I downloaded the digital version of SC4 Deluxe from GOG. I have a laptop with Windows 10 (or 11-I don't remember). I installed it through the GOG installer and initiated the game. It's completely glitchy and there is NO menu to open regions or anything else. If I try to load a region on the "tutorials" region, it just freezes up. I've put in actions such as CustomResoluion, -f, CPU, etc. NOTHING helps. What can I do???? @CorinaMarie

The game is on a Gateway laptop model NV570P-18U, OS Win 10 Home 64bit. I got this SimCity 4 Deluxe on eBay. The game install's just fine. But the game just won't run. I click on "SimCity 4.exe" and the blue circle goes around 1 maybe 2 times and that's it. I tried compatibility mode, thinking it mite work on one of the earlier versions of Windows. That didn't work ether. I also tried uninstalling the game and re-installing the game. I am still stuck with a non working game, and I am out of ideas as to what to do. PS: I found out what the problem is. This is an older version of SimCity 4 Deluxe. The game works just fine on the Sony laptop model PCG-7142L, OS Win 7 Home 32 bit. But I don't know how to get this SimCity 4 Deluxe to run on the Gateway. That's what I get for not checking out the seller 1st. The seller turned out to be the Goodwill online store

[SOLVED] :) Steam SC4D ran fine with mods, now weird CTD

Hi all - looking through the CTD threads and still sort of buried. Dl SC4 from Steam, been running fine with numerous mods+dependencies, then suddenly, the Intro doesn't fully play, game opens to Region, animations work fine, then 14 or so seconds along it CTD's. Reinstalled game (but with W10, game files are now kept under Quick Access, One Drive and Documents up in the Library) the new install still has access to the old game and mods. So, same issue. I removed several mods ie SC4Fix, RemoveBoxes, an Intro mod and a couple others with no changes. Attached are the first 3 windows of DxDiag and I ran an SC4 dump (.dmp) file but not sure how to upload it. (237mb) I've just started back into the game so the game files aren't too precious - All the mods are copied safely elsewhere so a clean re-start is possible. But since it's run for 2 or 3 days with the mods loaded and all appeared well, and the intro (the original) cuts off before the long animation starts, I wonder if it's having problems with the initial start up and not the mods. Any help is greatly appreciated and thanks! -

First upload, please let me know what you all think and what needs improvement. I plan on making some more halloween themed parks. Just put the .SC4Lot file in your Plugins folder. 1 Dependency Needed, link in comments section. Only tested on SC4 Deluxe. No lighting at night due to inexperience. Will continue to make edits and updates to this file as time goes on. Lot size is 3x6. Thank you! *file needs a few updates, will try to do it by the end of the week*- 3 Comments

After nearly a four year break in playing SimCity 4, I have decided to play it again. Without thinking, I pulled the original CDs for the Deluxe edition from the drawer, installed the program... downloaded the basics from STEX, and when I went to play last night... Nothing. So far, I've tried: Compatibility mode in XP Compatibility mode in Windows 7 (the last version of Windows I played the game in) Searching this forum for tips (but I haven't been able to find any posts on this issue - unless I am completely blind) Four pages of "do this, do that..." on Microsoft Windows 10 useless site. Short of re-purchasing this game in Steam, is there a walk-through? Any ideas?

I cannot find Update/patch 1.1.640 for SC4. A previous STEX topic "How to fully patch SimCity 4" from Dec 2011 has a link for this purpose, http://www.ea.com/simcity-4-deluxe , which only sends me back to STEX. I know there's another patch for BAT at another website. I'd like current info on links for both of these. I have SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition as part of the SimCity box that I bought several years ago - version 1.1.610.0. My computer has a Pentium U4100 at 1.30 GHz, 3 GB RAM, Mobile Intel 4.5 Express Chipset Family with 1340 MB memory, 283 GB hard drive, page file 1709 MB used with 4163 MB available, running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. The game runs smoothly - I just came across info on these 2 patches. Thanks.

I wonder is it good to take out the disk from the computer after running sc4? Can I keep the disk in the slot all the time so I don't have to put it back in when starting the program again? I remember when I got introduced to sc4 in my old school, my computer teacher put the disk in the computer when loading sc4, then took it out after loading has completed. This is really building a city without the disk.

I have been going crazy trying to stop a crash on SC4 Deluxe Edition (Europe). Now I know exactly WHEN it crashes. I just don't know WHY! I have SimGoober's Canals (BSC_Install_Canals_BasePack) & Locks (BSC_Install_Canals_Locks). Of course I have the NAM (NetworkAddonMod Setup 31.2) and (Install_BSC_Essentials). I can play SC4 Deluxe indefinitely. But immediately as I attempt to lay a road or street beside the SG Canal Locks, the game crashes to desktop! Does anyone know what is happening?
