Version 1.0.2

SC4 Cleanitol is a modern implementation of the original BSC Cleanitol program released in 2013. This program provides an easy way to clean your plugins folder of all non SC4 related files making the game quicker to load, can remove out of date and obsolete plugins, and can tell you what dependencies you have and which dependencies you need for a given mod. This new version is designed to be backwards compatible with old Cleanitol scripts, but nevertheless includes numerous improvements, with some of the major ones being: Ability to specify TGIs in addition to file names as a dependency. One of the drawbacks of using filenames only is if a user renames a file or datpacks their plugins folder, the old Cleanitol program will report a missing dependency even if that asset might actually be there. Ability to specify conditional dependencies - i.e. only report item A as a dependency if item B is present. This is very useful for mods which may allow the user to choose certain components to install. This way the user will not be prompted for a missing dependency for a component they did not install. Ability to import rules from a web hosted text file - Fetching the rules from a web hosted text file can guarantee a user is always running the most up-to-date version of a script, especially if the script is regularly updated. Requirements Windows 10 or higher .NET7 runtime version > 7.0.0 - To determine which version is installed, open Command Prompt and type dotnet --list-runtimes. If the version is less than 7.0.0 installed, or the command is not recognized, download the most recent version here. Alternatively, if you run the executable without the correct .NET runtime, you will receive an error message. Follow the prompts to download the correct version. Downloading Download from the STEX or visit the latest release on Github. Support Consult the user manual, which contains information on both using the program and creating scripts with the new functionality introduced with this program. This is an open source application. The source code and issue tracker are posted here. Requests or questions are welcomed here in the dedicated thread, in the Github issue tracker, or in the SC4D Discord thread. -

I have been cleaning up my plugin file and finally ran cleanitrol on it. A lot of files where deleted, everything seemed ok then suddenly new houses being built come is as brown boxes, they are labeled a 01, i 01, d 01, d 02, f 01 b 01, and so on. I do not know what houses these are and cannot figure out what dependency this points to, I have gone over all my major props and reloaded some nothing works. I also have a brown box for a a 1 beach resort, I cant figure out what that is. I have been able to fix almost all the other brown box problems but this has me stumped.

Is anyone familiar with Cobb32118 stuff ? I'm going though my Landmarks and removing a bunch of Plop stuff I don't need and came across Cobb Central Park - To my surprise, I went to the folder and just see 2 plop files and all the original files are gone - The original .zip has 6 extra files, the Model.sc4model file and some Growable. These files are all missing and some Cleanitol moved 10 files along with other Cobb stuff. copy "Cobb32118_Cobb_Central_Park_West_GROWABLE_DESC.SC4Desc" "..\..\Plugins\NAMES\Cobb32118\Cobb32118_Cobb_Central_Park_West\Cobb32118_Cobb_Central_Park_West_GROWABLE_DESC.SC4Desc" copy "Cobb32118_Cobb_Central_Park_West_GROWABLE_LOT_b1a308fe.SC4Lot" "..\..\Plugins\NAMES\Cobb32118\Cobb32118_Cobb_Central_Park_West\Cobb32118_Cobb_Central_Park_West_GROWABLE_LOT_b1a308fe.SC4Lot" copy "Cobb32118_Cobb_Europa_GROWABLE_LOT_2dc931f1.SC4Lot" "..\..\Plugins\NAMES\Cobb32118\Cobb32118_Cobb_Europa1\Cobb32118_Cobb_Europa_GROWABLE_LOT_2dc931f1.SC4Lot" copy "Cobb32118_Cobb_Europa_GROWABLE_DESC.SC4Desc" "..\..\Plugins\NAMES\Cobb32118\Cobb32118_Cobb_Europa1\Cobb32118_Cobb_Europa_GROWABLE_DESC.SC4Desc" copy "Cobb32118_Cobb_Emerald_Park_GROWABLE_LOT_adbb57d6.SC4Lot" "..\..\Plugins\NAMES\Cobb32118\Cobb32118_Cobb_Emerald_Park\Cobb32118_Cobb_Emerald_Park_GROWABLE_LOT_adbb57d6.SC4Lot" copy "Cobb32118_Cobb_Emerald_Park_GROWABLE_DESC.SC4Desc" "..\..\Plugins\NAMES\Cobb32118\Cobb32118_Cobb_Emerald_Park\Cobb32118_Cobb_Emerald_Park_GROWABLE_DESC.SC4Desc" copy "Cobb32118_Cobb_Troglodyte_Complex_R$LOT_9168df91.SC4Lot" "..\..\Plugins\NAMES\Cobb32118\Cobb32118_Cobb_Troglodyte_Complex\Cobb32118_Cobb_Troglodyte_Complex_R$LOT_9168df91.SC4Lot" copy "Cobb32118_Cobb_Troglodyte_Complex-DESC.SC4Desc" "..\..\Plugins\NAMES\Cobb32118\Cobb32118_Cobb_Troglodyte_Complex\Cobb32118_Cobb_Troglodyte_Complex-DESC.SC4Desc" copy "Cobb32118_Cobb_Riviera_GROWABLE_LOT_adcf0cae.SC4Lot" "..\..\Plugins\NAMES\Cobb32118\Cobb32118_Cobb_Riviera\Cobb32118_Cobb_Riviera_GROWABLE_LOT_adcf0cae.SC4Lot" copy "Cobb32118_Cobb_Riviera_GROWABLE_DESC.SC4Desc" "..\..\Plugins\NAMES\Cobb32118\Cobb32118_Cobb_Riviera\Cobb32118_Cobb_Riviera_GROWABLE_DESC.SC4Desc" Any reason why this happened ? I only have 5 items (zip files) from Cobb and none of them have a Cleanitol, so not sure what file from someone else did that EDIT: It appears COBB Mega Props 1-5 have Cleanitol files, and found Vol.03 has mention of Central Park, but not any for Growables. If any of this helps, I tracked down to CAM Commercial Offices and almost 200MB Folder of original Zip files. It looks like one of Cleanitol files removed the Growables and have things solved. Was wondering why it was gone, but makes sense now that it's part of this larger pack Issue Resolved

Inspired from this Video on Youtube, where "Rob's Red Hot Spot" is recommending and explaining his 8 most important Mods, Tools and Bugfixes for SimCity 4, I installed all his recommendations and also nr. 8, the horrible dependencies hell "Functional Seaport". Yesterday I invest much time to download all the required Props from SC4Devotion and also a few ones here from Simtropolis. Then I used the Cleanitool to check if I had all required multimillion dependencies installed First I checked the normal dependencies (Cleanitol_SDP_3.1---1. GetDependencies.txt) Here it is stated, that the BSCBATProps RT MineCorp Vol01.at would be missing, but this is ok, because this file has been superseeded by BSC MEGA Props RT Vol04 and this Prop is installed. Probably the Cleanitol doesn't know the existence of the new MEGA Prop, so it shows this error. Now the PEG Dependencies (Cleanitol_SDP_3.1---2. GetPegasusDependencies.txt) This was the most difficult part for me, because this Props I had to download from Simtropolis and I had to search in Google, which xyz.dat is in which Prop/Mod/Lot/etc.. here at Simtropolis. But I managed to find nearly all. The third missing one "PEG-CDK3_PropPack_Vehicles_01.dat" is in the PEG CDK3 SUPER PAK, so it's the same like above. The Cleanitool doesn't know the existence of the Super PAK and so it shows the error. The two missing Props "PEG_CSK2_WaterTaxis_RESOURCE.dat and PEG_CSK2_Scows_205.dat" I were not able to find. Are they Legacy Content? I am unsure here with the PEG-Dependencies if I have downloaded and installed too much unnecessary stuff, because it was labeled as missing in the Cleanitool. For example, I had downloaded and installed the "PEG CDK3 SP Pier One", because Cleanitool showed the "PEG_CDK3-SP_Pier-One_RESOURCE.dat" as missing. But I suspect, that the two Super Packs "PEG CDK3 SP SEAPORT SUPER PAK" and "PEG CDK3 SUPER PAK" include all PEG-related Seaport dependencies. Am I right here and I have installed redundant Props just to make Cleanitool happy? Now the PEG Dependencies (Cleanitol_SDP_3.1---3. RemoveConflicts.txt) I think the "not present" message is a good one, right? It means no conflict? Because of the PEG Dependencies I installed "PEG CSK2 Functional Small Port". Cleanitool wanted the "PEG_CSK_SmallPort_RESOURCE.dat", but I installed also the "PEG_3x5_CSK2_Port-Small_SW77_205f.dat" from the package. Does the Cleanitool message that this file is found mean, that there is a conflict and so I should delete the "PEG_3x5_CSK2_Port-Small_SW77_205f.dat"? And now the last one (Cleanitol_SDP_3.1---4. GetTruesageDependencies.txt) Everything here should be fine. But what means "Maxis: not present"? It is stated also in the other three tests. Does it mean that some original Maxis Files are missing? I tried the Seaport for a short time and so far it seems to work, I couldn't see brown boxes anywhere. I know much stuff, but if anyone has experience with the Functional Seaport stuff and can confirm that the left errors in Cleanitool aren't real errors, it would be very nice and helpful :-)

Should the folders that needs to be ran through the BSC cLEANITOL be deleted? Once its been check cleanitol puts the files in it own spot, and how does the cleanitol work? jUST WONDERING IF I AM DOING IT RIGHT.

How are you guys doing? I hope you're all having a good time. When a dependency comes with a text file, I usually use the cleanitol to scan for redundant dependencies. I also know that cleanitol moves the files that are jpg, txt, and html that have been placed into the plugins folder by manual installations into another location. What else does it does? Does it remove redundant dependencies by itself when installing new ones even without inputting a text file? Also, I don't think it's gonna be a problem if I grouped all the dependencies in one folder, is it?

When catching up on dependencies, how do I find STEX files that Cleanitol gave obsolete URLs for?
PlutonianEmpire posted a topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
I've finally decided to start catching up on my missing dependancies, especially now that I installed CAM. When going through the cleanup list, some files Cleanitol will give SimTropolis URLs for, but the urls are in the obsolete format, as when I click on the links, I get a page saying the old page doesn't exist anymore, since the stex no longer uses "simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?id=<number>" as the url for files on the STEX. How do I find, for example, a file that had the url "simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?id=4100"?- 2 Replies
