SC4Cleanitol - a new implementation of the old tool
jj88 replied to nos.17's topic in SC4 Modding - Open Discussion
Edit: sorry for the multiple posts. Just wanted to clarify my testing included this one (1.0.3-R1) but I still had no error log messages after clicking Moving Files resulted in crashes. -

Many thanks Version 1.0.0 I thought wasn't working for me. However I retried it after reading your comment and it does work so using that version for now. Thanks for all your hard work on this nos.17 ! -

Hi sorry to join in mid thread - like Cahos above I have already posted a report comment on your STEX upload page but I decided to report it here too after having read this conversation. (I have also since edited my report and added a link pointing visitors here in case anyone else has the same queries). This discussion is helpful, good to stay in the loop :-) -
Thanks also for your work on this program. Sorry to report I'm also having the same crash whenever I click on "Move files": Opening the program and scanning working ok. SC4Cleanitol_Error_Log.txt is also blank unfortunately. I tried running both the included CleanupList.txt and a Cleanitol script from the SC4D LEX LEGACY - BSC Common Dependencies Pack. I'm on Windows 11 and have both .NET 7.0.2 and .NET 9.0.2 runtimes installed on my computer. Edit: I have seen there is more discussion of CahosRahneVeloza's reported issue on the forum thread (linked below) - like him for me v1.0.0 works fine, I can't get any newer versions to work until further patches. So if you are reading this and also having an issue getting Cleanitol working, try v1.0.0 for now. It likely has everything you need anyway.

Great to see coverage for SC4 in gaming media all these years later 😀 thanks so much to all those involved in modding and improving the game 😊

For the rails going through the station - the Dependency link in the description needs updating - no need to go to sc4devotion (which is now offline). You just need two files here on Simtropolis: 1. The original version of the Railyard & Rail Spur Texture Mega Pack 2. And the latest version (Version 3) You do need both downloads. Just having the second file does not work. Re sundevil4life's comment above, he/she must have already had the version 3 file, they just needed to find the second dependency.

Many thanks for this. Got it working with the Steam version of the game. Could you update the installation instructions to make it clear the DLL file cannot be a subfolder in Documents\SimCity 4\Plugins? This caught me out at first as Windows by default extracts ZIPs to a folder. So I had just dragged the folder into Plugins. File has to be in the root of Plugins cannot be in any subfolder.

There is a possiblity, but I doubt most people who visit here have sufficient hacking experience or moreover the motive to do so.
