31.3 million inhabitants on a cities xl map. It's like a copy paste Kowloon
TheCrybKeeper commented on bluejeans's City Journal Entry in 31.3 million inhabitants in a cities xl map. It's like Kowloon copy-pasted.
This is amazing! My favorite thing about SimCity is, huge populations - love, love -
Just needing a link to a SC4 patch, that allows neighbor connections to work - cannot recognize neighbors and their commodities or utilities.

Safe options for digital download of SC4 Deluxe
TheCrybKeeper replied to simphonian's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Uh-oh! Yeah, I did it. I learn as I go, when it comes to Windows 10 and whatever else comes down the 'internet pike'. It does slow down my game play - I installed a few games from GOG and I don't really like the Galaxy thing. Should I start all over? You guys may want to treat me like a 13 year old, with an average I.Q. Although I am in my 50's, I couldn't seem to find a way to install the games from GOG, without installing Galaxy. -

So far, I like the GOG version. Had to make sure I understood where the files are and where to install plug-ins. Thank you, everyone! My granddaughter LOVES this game, so had to get it back on this newer PC. -

I am on Steam and have read the users reviews: The Steam version of SC4, from Steam, seems unplayable by many reviewers on Steam, that have Win 10, OS. I am here right now, looking for possible solutions from Simtropolis' community. I have the CD version of SC4 Rush Hour. -
Hard Drive Fails. Start Over. Where Are My Fav Plug-ins?
TheCrybKeeper posted a topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
My electric company did another one of those transformer resets - This one corrupted my hard drive or whatever, so switched to a back up PC, with Win Vista, Uugh! Been spending a week finding and installing all my favorite Lots, Plug-ins, mods, etc. However, I cannot find two of them. Can anyone help? I am looking for better trees, that reduce much more pollution. The trees did not replace the Maxis trees(mayor mode), just added a second set of trees. I also had a smaller zoo, that was 2x4 and although I still had the original Maxis zoo option, this smaller zoo could replace the VERY OVERLY Gigantic Maxis zoo. I patched the game, of course, but my mayor rating is stuck, at 65%. I know my SimCity, so my mayor rating should at least be 90%, with a population of 300,000 and nearly all gifts placed. What have I done incorrectly?- 14 Replies

Hard Drive Fails. Start Over. Where Are My Fav Plug-ins?
TheCrybKeeper replied to TheCrybKeeper's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
I started this 'region', before installing the EP1 game patch, which may be an issue, so I am going to start all over with a new 'region' and see if it fixes itself.- 14 Replies

Hard Drive Fails. Start Over. Where Are My Fav Plug-ins?
TheCrybKeeper replied to TheCrybKeeper's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
My Mayor Rating Panel doesn't show much information. Everything is positive in my cities. I have been playing from these CD's since 2003 and never had this issue before.- 14 Replies

Hard Drive Fails. Start Over. Where Are My Fav Plug-ins?
TheCrybKeeper replied to TheCrybKeeper's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Medium park is all good now, include all lots - I needed to set the graphics details for the game on 'highest' - DUH! I am so silly I have the opera house fix and installed it back on Monday, but nothing changed. My only issue now, is what is up with my mayor rating? Maybe I didn't install OperaHouseFix correctly, hmmm.- 14 Replies

@Raymond7cn : Thank you Raymond! Those are exactly the ones, I am looking for! I am going to try the LEPROP thing - Have seen it mentioned before - Thanks again ;-) @jeffryfisher : I totally agree. However, I enjoy starting over with a clean machine - I find it to be a new adventure. Personal files are recovered from the cloud, photos, artwork, etc. Starting games from scratch, is just a part of the adventure. I still have one issue though: My parks(medium green park) and some of my low density residential are missing items(graphics). My medium park is just a green square with one lamp post in it. Small houses have no trees or bushes or driveways, etc - Just a plain green lot with a house. Mayor rating will not go past 65% or eight bars out of twelve. The only positive effect 'gift' I haven't placed is the zoo.- 14 Replies

Why do you still play SC4 ?
TheCrybKeeper replied to Kleiner Timmy's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
I know, I am repeating myself, but my linear/grid/cloned city districts, gives me a personal sense of order in a chaotic real world. SimCity literally, heals me, soothes anxiety and eases my cluttered mind. I will never stop playing SC4. -
poll Which kind of SimCity 4 player are you?
TheCrybKeeper replied to Lucario Boricua's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
My style is linear/grid/cloned districts and could be, dystopian or utopian. The choice of dystopian and no utopian is a bit off putting =D- 33 Replies

Thank you, for browsing my CJ. Funny you should say that just now. I recently listened to a podcast on "How NewYork Grew as a City" Quite interesting stuff!

Using cheats that help your city become a Utopian City. Utilities can be unlimited and compact. We should love Shmail's work and also PEG's work! Leaving plenty of room for trees, helps wealthy people thrive in our cities. I use a pollution control tree set.

One or two hours later Please view images in this post and the second post. Study the images carefully, as everything is a diamond/cross or X's. All numbers are 8, 16, 32 and 64. Read everything that explains the images. To all who want to learn how the numbers work in SimCity 4 Rush Hour Deluxe. How to make the perfect city. Make your config.BMP into 9 large cities, surrounded by only medium cities, in rows of 2. The medium cities will be entirely industrial cities. The 9 large cities will be entirely residential and commercial. The Simizens WILL travel outside the large cities to work in the medium industrial cities <--- This insures your Simizens live in lowest pollution and less traffic, while leaving more room for green grass and lush forests. Remember, installing modifiers, such as the NAM traffic modifier, will mess up this formula. Never use more than one alternate form of transportation/commuting. Buses are the most efficient and most used by Simizens. Buses also make the best profit for your city, while costing the least to build and maintain. Diamond bus stops everyone(as seen in my images). City districts are comprised of 32, 8x8 blocks and there are 16 districts in one large city. If your city districts are entirely made up of high density zones, you will eventually need double the schools and double the hospitals and clinics. Unless you are using Shmail's schools and clinics, which only need one high school here and there and only one Shmail's Clinic(black roofed building under the hospital). All high density zones, does not insure you will have all high wealth zones. Checkerboard/cross and 'X' everything. Leave room for plenty of trees.

Thank you for your interest Naomi57. My cities are always High Density Commercial and Residential zones, except on the occasions, that the neighboring Industrial cities have not enough land space to fill them with enough industry - I then use Lower Density zones to maintain balance. The high density or any density, has nothing to do with wealth. My cities simply grow into nearly all high wealth $$$ buildings from high density zones, due to the fact, I use the secret formula built into the games mechanics/numbers. The formula turns every city into a Utopian society and nearly every Simizen gets wealthy automatically. All other education facilities are present. You don't see the schools, because I use a different style school house, that is smaller than the games originals. One of my favorite cheats, is using smaller more compact utilities and services. I will post a city block in 30 minutes, that will reveal EVERYTHING for you Naomi57. -BRB-.
