  2. NAM for dummies

    - This is the TSCT (that comes with NAM) only this is a standalone version. If you chose not to install it during NAM install, you can install it from this link. btw: What is the reason for depending on the JRE for the TSCT? Why is there no independent version?
  3. But: Is it the cause of the ferry problem?
  4. Vehicles that slow the computer

What about putting the z_files.dat into a z_folder?
  5. Asphodel

I always struggle with getting a naturally looking coast line ... sigh ...
  6. RTMT Issue

Time off? We're entitled to time off? Are you sure??? Sigh... Gah, dont listen to the old elk! Back to work! <whiplash.wav>
  7. I think he is talking about the EXE? It is not in the SimCity4 directory but in one of its subfolders - cant look right now which exactly.
  8. Vehicles that slow the computer

Lets say I do not care for 1GB more or less, is the only reason I should not DatPack the NAM that I could not easily change its installed components? Could I not just copy my plugin folder to a backup drive, DatPack what is to DatPack including the NAM and change the NAM-DatPack file with the NAM-folder if I want to change out anything? Or are there other possible Woop-de-doodles that might happen if I pack the NAM? Any reasons for not simply DatPacking the whole plugin folder into one neat DAT?
  9. Commercial zones

Offices need a nicer environment than services - look for clean air, built plazas etc. Just because your sims want something doesnt mean they will build it just anywhere.
  10. UDI Missions v.s. Difficulty

Now THAT would explain quite something ...
  11. Special tile request

Do you only have a picture of this city or do you have the real map? You can import a tile to your region and in god mode tell the game to obliterate every artificial content to wipe the map clean without loosing the terraforming. The waterfall is a ploppable lot though and would be lost anyway.
  12. Industry just won't grow

Res. and Ind. zone connected by road? Built a one-way road by accident? Not to far away from each other? All connected with power lines?
  13. Agriculture/Freight

Me silly - there no dumb-$$$ ... Forgot about the direct correlation of education and wealth!
  14. Can you explain the down-spike in your R$-population approx. four years earlier? Was that you dezoning the residential areas? It corresponds with your decreasing traffic count. Whats the EQ in your city? I see you have farms, maybe the sims dont want to work there anymore because they think they are all smart n stuff?
  15. Agriculture/Freight

As do the cute ditches I presume. So, I would need a small town away from my city with no school and next to something like a federal prison, landfill etc. so only dumb-R$ will live there - but with SPAM R$$ and R$$$ will work on the farms too? Which leads to another question: are there even dumb sims? Does the game calculate with such precision? Or are there only average numbers?
  16. need help with a few things

    1. You have to be registered/logged in for the download button to even appear. http://sc4devotion.c...lex/Default.htm 2. Yes and no - it depends - read the description, readme or comments of the download.
  17. https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/Default.htm It is the LotEXchange over at sc4devotion.com - you do not need to register for the forums, just the file exchange, it will be to seperate accounts if you register to both.
  18. Can someone provide me with greyscales of the following cities/towns/areas, please? I am able to cut them to size as needed, but I am useless at creating them myself - let alone finding suitable source material and greyscaling it ... ---------- Alsfeld Latitude 50°45'3"N (50.750794°) Longitude 9°16'18"E (9.271660°) area: 50.582365 , 50.809840 S-N 9.071159 , 9.454308 W-E ---------- Bonn Latitude 50°43'14"N (50.7205°) Longitude 7°7'4"E (7.1177°) area: 50.615925 , 50.780543 S-N 6.899700 , 7.256412 W-E ---------- Siegen Latitude 50°52'12"N (50.8667°) Longitude 8°1'48"E (8.03333°) area: 50.890473 , 50.980912 S-N 7.917709 , 8.177261 W-E ----------
  19. T21 Trees

Create/select a suitable polluted area, clear the are especially all trees next to the polluter(s), run simulation for a few months. Build T21 trees (i.e. the appropriate network) into the clouds, switch to air pollution view, cheetah for full effect, dont blink and report back!
  20. Quoted to catch your attention! Göltzschtalbrücke - ferry takes route through "tunnel-arch" in bridge Level Rail Bridge 15,5 - Warren Undertruss 15,5 - Overdeck Truss Rail - Royal Albert Saltash STR - Metal Arched - Metal Pylon - Modern - Rural - Over deck Truss - Cantileverd Truss - Small Steel Arch - Under Truss - Level Rail ferry route OK Plate Girder STR - Howe Truss STR - Wooden Trestle STR - Warzone - Howe Truss - Garabit Arched (both)- Garabit Pylon (both) ferry route BROKEN
  21. Cemetery

With some work you could replace the visual of the houses of warship with your temples - and I would like on too, when you are done!
  22. Things I'd like to see in SC4

A "train-able" airport with the freight-swallowing-ability of the seaport - for inland industrial cities that wont be connected by rail - and just because I want one!
  23. Does this only slow down the animation of AI trains or lower the maximum speed of trains in UDI too?
  24. Smaller Civic Lots

If the seaport goes entirely on land now and still functions as a freight dump, then it will be very useful on maps you cannot/ do not want to connect you industry to the neighbouring tiles - although it will still pollute I think? And it should be a nice trick to circumvent the crime bug for large lots, will try this one out!
  25. Cemetery

To revive this thread one more time: If the air is really "red", nothing seems to beat the good old forrest - set a cemetery where trees are standing and watch the clouds roll in! So the air cleaning ability of this large lot seems to be rather sub par to natural vegetation. I was rather disappointed yesterday - but the allmighty mayor-god sent me some new trees to plant between the graves.
