Well I have found a simple solution for a very small city (Pop.7,300) Solution: Place a small 3x4 Landfill zone far out in the back area of my small industrial zone an than place the recycling center right up against it. Theoretically I thought that having the recycle place right next to the landfill would make it easy for the recycle center to sort through garbage an make better use of the place. What gave me this idea was that without the recycle center the little garbage trucks on my landfill were not lit up. After placing the recycling center they were lit up. After plopping down the recycle center something amazing occurred..... The amazing occurrence: Not a single colored area on the map representing garbage So I guess for now that will work. I'm sure once my population grows that small landfill will turn into an eyesore unless I export the garbage to keep from upgrading my landfill zone.

So it raises the demand cap for what? "Commercial" I'm guessing by 102,000 for a small airport an up to 900,000 for a large international airport? Basically..... Example: I have 1000 commercial jobs with a 0 demand for anymore jobs. The cap on commercial capacity is 1500. I install a small airport an the cap goes to 2000 but I still have 0 demand for commercial. (Unrealistic numbers I know) Am I getting this right?

That table is helpful but my problem is I haven't yet to make one city with a population over 50,000 I'm lucky to see 50,000 half the time my city becomes a flop before I get that far. So basically by the looks of that table just leaving the taxes pretty close to default for anything less than 100,000 population will suffice?

So in other words the airports are close to pointless? Unless of course you feel you need one to make your big city look more like a big city, cause what big city doesn't have an airport.

What about those power plants that incinerate the trash. Could I instead make a medium sized tile full of those thus making the "Garbage City" a combined "Garbage & Power City" ? Q: How can I place a power plant on the edge of a tile an still export power? I hate the sight of those maxis power lines even though a full city doesn't require them it seems to export or import power you must have those to make a connection to the other cities.

Thanks for all the advice guys. With further ado I have to admit how stupid I feel. Some how while I was playing my city I rotated the map an when I connected the street an exited to the region the city I thought it would appear in was on the opposite side although while in the city it appeared that it would be in the city on the right. If that makes any sense.

So no matter what there is no way to completely rid my city of piling garbage? I must create a landfill or export it to a neighboring city. Q: What is the best way to use Landfills? Where to place.... How big... an should I place trees around it to lower air pollution? I guess if I want a squeaky clean city than doing what you've done would be the route to take huh. Make one medium size tile nothing but a big dump site lol Q: How do you move all the trash from one tile to another tile an yet another tile without the tiles in between collecting any of the trash? Do you have landfills in each of the cities but only the trash tile accumulating trash on the landfill zones?

It's all about the gameplay!!! Let the graphics be the last thing you worry about cause this game despite its age still had me addicted. I've got an xbox one an other computer games an the gameplay on those units are just bland. Simcity 4 still has me coming back after all these years. I want to use all the cool house mods an make the cities these people on here do but that is a lot of dedication. So I just use NAM 32 an the Agriculture mods an make bustling small towns with farming as the main commerce an go from there. Takes a lot of practice to be as good as a lot of the guys on here and a lot of downloads in some cases.

I'm not great at sim city 4 or anything but have you tried adding stuff that might deter $$C like make it less attractive in the area. Add something that might make the pollution go up just a bit or something. I don't know just an idea. An maybe make sure the low wealth is near low wealth people so they can get jobs at those small profit places. Just like real life you wouldn't open a bass pro shop right in the heart of the ghetto. You'd open a little gas station or something.

I was searching through the exchange when I first found this site a few days ago. As I was doing so I found a file for some building that would supply water an electric to the entire city without the need for pipes an lines. At the time I was like nah I don't need that but now I'm thinking that I do. Can someone please direct me to the file if you know what file I'm talking about. It was like a mini skyscraper or something of the sort. Thanks!

I think some of the more talented mods out there should try this idea. Yeah, I'm not sure that I've seen it so if it has been made someone please post a link or something. Otherwise I thought it might be possible to make something of the sort. People let me know what you think. - Most super rich houses I see don't usually sit out in the open down the road from middle-class an low-class people. But in the sims they seem to so I thought fixing that up a bit would be cool.
