  1. gmax question

Can someone please tell me if I need to register this or not? Last time on my other machine I don't remember having to have a registration code for it. Also, it said that it would send me one but it isn't asking for my email. It's asking for my address, phone number, and etc... I got it from Turbosquid and my anti-virus program didn't detect any issues. So what am I doing wrong?
  2. Simtropolis Age Poll

How old are you? Just trying to see what kind of age demographic we have here. Thought it would be interesting.
  3. Simtropolis Age Poll

Well I'm 25 an already done a few things in life that many my age haven't even thought about. I been to war. I've been to college. I've gotten married. I am paying a mortgage an I have 1 child to be born April 4th. I've been painting her room for the last 2 days. I get up at 3:30 every morning an I'm in bed by 9pm. Technology is growing at such a rapid pace these days that even someone my age who used to be up to date on the latest an greatest can get left in the past within a year or two if we don't try to keep up.
  4. Noisy Fridge

Used to be all I could hear was the fan on my computer going as fast as it's elder butt could go to dissipate the heat. Now that I've upgraded to the Asus M11bb-b06 all I hear is my fridge in the kitchen humming wildly. Just thought I'd throw that out there if anyone is looking for a cheap gaming machine pre-built for a decent price this one plays games like SimCity 4 flawlessly with a few tweaks to the target line under the game properties. I've had Sim 3 running at max settings as well. Great machine for anyone not computer savvy needing a cheap budget machine for games like SimCity 4 Can't be it for $499.99 *Well I guess you could if you built your own but still it would be cutting it close* so might as well buy it pre-built if you are someone like me. I also recommend these APU A series processors even though the Kaveri is about to come out. The A-10 6700 APU is perfect for this type of gaming. Comes with integrated graphics so no need to worry about a graphics card. 5/5 stars
  5. HTML5 Geolocation

<!-- I was reading up on the new elements that HMTL5 has introduced since I haven't done any coding for years an this caught me a little off guard. A script that you can input into your HTML5 coding an easily acquire the exact location of a person down do the very last coordinate.--> <script> var x = document.getElementById("demo"); function getLocation() { if (navigator.geolocation) { navigator.geolocation.getCurrentPosition(showPosition); } else{x.innerHTML = "Geolocation is not supported by this browser.";} } function showPosition(position) { x.innerHTML = "Latitude: " + position.coords.latitude + "<br>Longitude: " + position.coords.longitude; } </script>
  6. The Sims 3

Anyone on here play this game? If so would you kindly let me add you as a friend. Just started playing an I don't have any friends on there. It keeps telling me to send gifts or something. So yeah.... even if you don't want to add me as a friend could you at least post an give me some tips and advice on how this game on PC is different than it is on console. Thanks! Edit - There is no fire meter is there? No cap on how much you can have on one lot?
  7. Simtropolis Age Poll

  8. Make Historical

I always wondered what the Historical option done. Now I can feel good that I was right all along.
  9. Introduce Yourself Here!

Welcome to the forums Yep, SimCity 4 is still alive an packing a punch even with the release of the failed SimCity 2013 which many here have pegged as "Sim Village" due to the overwhelmingly small size of the cities that you're allowed to create lol
  10. Noisy Fridge

Yeah my dishwasher is like a Typhoon coming through the house. I have to turn everything up when it's running.
  11. HTML5 Geolocation

Well when I was younger (around 15 years old) I used to be all into this Web Design an Computer Programming thing. Seemed to come so easily back than. Now I'm just like lost in space. I keep trying but its just getting annoying that I seem to be so confused when I feel like I shouldn't be. This stuff is so simple yet I take it in a complex subject of which a college degree is need to understand. SMH
  12. A nice glass of water with a granola bar an a banana. Afterwards I'm going to go out for my daily walk an come back for another granola bar.
  13. The sound of my Freezer box humming away - How I wonder when I'll have to whip out the credit card an pay for another one.
  14. Are we "immortal"?

I don't know about all this math an stuff but I sure hope we are not immortal. This world we live in is a wasteland of poverty due to the destructive nature we all posses. We all see reality as if we are going forward in technology an one day everything will be under complete control. <-- that will never happen. We are doomed no matter what. Life takes its course an regardless of the inventions that we propose will save our humankind in the end what we do not understand will still overtake our being. Thus hence why I'd rather die an be done than come an relive to see the inevitable.

  16. The Next Person...

Isle is like the isle in a grocery store an aisle is ummm hell I don't know - I guess you're right lol The next person is someone who consumes too much caffeine on a daily basis an happens to be American.
  17. American Politics

Wow I must live under a rock lol! I thought High Fructose Corn Syrup that I see on like every label including every single soda product was bad to ingest. I've been drinking nothing more than water for years now. Is this ingredient alright in small amounts? BTW - My opinion on American Politics is too many people have their hand in the cookie jar an there stuck in it. No cookies left but they can't get out of it so yeah.....
  18. Hex Color Picker

Anyone that is looking for a quick hexadecimal color picker via web browser. I use it when I'm coding my website because I code with just "notepad" so its very helpful for that reason. www.w3schools.com/tags/ref_colorpicker.asp BTW - I'm currently working on an Animal/Nature website for those of you who are animal lovers or tree huggers. I'm going to be adding all kinds of interesting videos, articles, etc.... I will post in the future when its ready for viewing for those interested. Thanks!
  19. Hex Color Picker

...... You lost me at "for example" lmao So basically $200 of the $549 (with tax) that I paid for this computer went toward the Windows 8 that I'm now thinking about switching out with Windows 7? I don't understand how that can be when the APU inside the machine cost roughly $160 an the Motherboard around $120. Than add in the 8gb stick of ram that's around $30-50 (guessing not sure) Than you calculate the labor an the parts like wires. Add in the 1tb HDD that's another $50 or something like that. Plus the the PSU an the shipping from the factory to the store. The store marks it up to help pay their employees an the stocking fee of having it take up space on a shelf. Did I get a bad deal? I'm confused as hell now. Note - It was priced at $499.99 (USD) on the shelf. Tax was a big killer to the price. Q: Is learning C++ a waste of time than?
  20. Hex Color Picker

What are the small items inside of Windows 8 that make your blood boil? I'm still thinking about going out and pay for the Windows 7 OS cause I'm not sold on this windows 8 just yet. Note - They are dropping support for Windows XP an rumor has it that there could possibly be some type of widespread hacker spree going to too anyone still running that OS. What is the NTFS that you are talking about? I guess if I knew all there is to know about computers my view would change. Since growing up knowing nothing more than the old fashioned windows layout an how to get around on that its kind of hard to just decide to change. They've made it pretty easy for non-computer people to use the computer.
  21. Hex Color Picker

Well it probably does have some stuff not portable to other platforms but I'm just using it for the WYSIWYG text editor cause so far its proven to be far superior to that notepad. You really don't like Microsoft do you? lol
  22. Hex Color Picker

I'm using WebMatrix 3 now instead of notepad. Any advice on that?
  23. Hex Color Picker

Well I just downloaded that Notepad ++ an honestly it isn't like I remembered. It just caused problems for me an my computer. I tried uninstalling it an it wouldn't let me so I just restored to a point before installing it. I don't know if I should try downloading another "free" editor cause they all seem to encode something into my registry an screw with stuff. Yes, I'm paranoid about keeping my computer 100% clean of everything including temporary internet files lol. I run system cleanup, shredder, disk defrag, virus scan, constant scan, windows update, everything possible everyday before I start using my computer. Than I go an download something like that Notepad++ an it erks me that I can't get rid of it when I want too. So if I don't mind paying for a simple program from a reputable place what would you suggest? mind you I'd like something where I have full control of the code. Not something like dreamweaver that pretty much inserts it for you. I even went through every single folder after I setup the first time an deleted everything that I'd never use. Even the default folders that hold pictures an stuff. I have a whopping total of 12 programs in all installed on my computer. Every single one are needed to run the computer. Anything other than that is gone.
  24. Why was the word "Newbie" censored last year an not now? lol
  25. Hex Color Picker

So you think if I use a "What You See is What You Get" text editor I will do better with my coding? Cause right now using notepad I'm constantly saving checking saving checking saving checking lol BTW - I looked up bluefish yesterday an I couldn't figure out where to download. The one place I found seemed "fishy" to me cause it said look at these specific codes to make sure you don't get a corrupted download or something like that. A couple years ago I think I remember finding a version of notepad that had a syntax highlighter an stuff.
