  1. Can't find it?... Ask here!

It looks like mobile.me doesn't exist anymore. I don't suppose someone knows of another place bldgprop_vol2.dat is stored? Found it!
  2. Thanks all. Forgot to say that I hadn't seen the Three Rivers trees. I've been alternating between those and PEG's. While they still need rotating, I like them the best out of the others. And for me , ArchangelMichael, I'd rather have the trees be different in the seasons with the look of randomness than have to rotate whenever I plop. I like forest everywhere and with 2x2 tree lots it is too time-consuming to want to rotate. To each their own!! SimCoug - I don't think that's it. There's a certain rail piece in the SimCity 1 dat file that seemed to trigger this behavior whenever it was selected as I was scrolling trying to find a lot. It was clearly a pattern after a while. Who knows. Thanks all!!

  4. I'm trying the tutorials in the SC4PIM User Guide, but SC4PIM won't work the way it should (keep getting a long scrolling Python window). I've re-installed, used the Windows7 patch (even tho I don't have windows7), etc but it still happens. Oh well. I think at this point it'll be easier for me to work around the issue altogether and control high wealth with taxes.
  5. Yeah, I realized sometime last night that I probably had the wrong file open. d'oh! That said, it makes sense that these lots are based on the grass lot, which then complicates things. So then I'd like to create my own. One of the things I prefer about PEG's version is that the tree placements are seemingly random, so that when you plant a bunch next to each other there is no discernible pattern (unlike another I found). That's the part I really don't know how to do Thanks!
  6. I'd like to remove the park effect from PEG's seasonal woods as I like to use those lots to create forests, etc (esp in rural towns). I'm in the ilive reader and I see the trees under objects, but no park effect attached to those. I also don't see any other items in the navigator. Any ideas where it is or might be?

    I like
  8. Eureka! --- Planning For The Future

From the overview of the area, it appears that most of the zoning is residential. So where does everyone work? Can you give us an idea of where people are commuting to? Thanks, and your region looks great!
  9. Post Modding Requests Here

Is it possible to have the building stage shown in the query box? I know CSX(?) did a mod that shows various city/region stats, but so many of us wonder what stage our buildings are at and have no clue. Esp. when Maxis uses the same buildings for different stages. [Or is there another way to determine this?] Thanks!
  10. Show us your mall

UrbanSprawl - now those look like real suburban US malls! very impressive. gotta love all those parking spots! (ok, maybe not)
  11. What is the best way to get lots to show up less frequently? Other than bulldozing My problem lot right now is swi21's tudor/english house -- there are 6 versions of the house and they are pretty much the only thing I see for that wealth type. If I delete the lot files, don't I have to bulldoze them all in the game first? That will be a problem since they are so prolific. So is there anything I can tweak using the ilive reader to discourage them to grow? Thanks!
  12. Ritz Carlton Hotel Conference Center

Thanks for the update. I didn't realize it was based on the one in Tysons -- I used to work right across the street! So where is Tysons II to go with the hotel? :) (the Ritz is attached to a mall)

You are right, I chose poorly in my words. I didn't mean only buses roads, but the bus routes since you block them from some places (or am I still misunderstanding? ). So in the Irafirom community picture, you have the avenue going under the rail, then it splits into two one-ways, right? And you have a one-way going around to the bus/subway terminals, and looping back to the main road. So then the avenue is primarily to get to the bus terminal since it is not easily to go past that point and on to the rest of the city (since you have to loop around). Is this correct? Was there a reason you didn't have the avenue continue and have a big intersection for people to get to the bus terminal? I guess I'm just curious to know more about the logic behind your transportation system. I find I do the same thing over and over again, even when I try not to, because I am still stuck in the older versions of SimCity (plus the boring-ness of where I grew up). Your cities are very different, and intriguing. I think if I can understand your approach to transportation, then maybe I can try new things more easily/successfully. At least that is my hope Thanks, and I hope I'm not being too searious

This region is very inspiring. Can you please explain some more about your road layouts? I see all these roads, but I don't understand why you've set it up the way you have (or where they are going!). I am sure there is some logic involved, like bus-only routes. Can you pick a spot and point out some things? Like maybe the plantation station, or one of the suburbs? Thanks.
